The strawberries are always fresh, juicy, and dipped in smooth, rich chocolate. The chocolate-covered apples are amazing too -- crisp apples coated with thick, delicious chocolate that makes every bite so satisfying. Everything tastes fresh and high quality, and it's the perfect place when you want a sweet treat or a little pick-me-up. Love Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, so I was excited to try this location at Sun Valley while I was in town. All of the unsealed/cased chocolate I purchased tasted like perfume. They need to be careful what they're wearing and what's being sprayed in that environment. This is too expensive to be throwing in the garbage. Tasted like it had been stored at Sephora for a week. This place is one of my guilty pleasures when I'm at the mall. So much to choose from. The staff are always polite and patient while I decide what to buy. It's always a caramel apple or some chocolate covered deliciousness. You walk in and your eyes don't know where to look as everything there looks amazing. Today was buy 3 apples get the 4th free. I bought the strawberry cheesecake apple, a S'mores apple, a Snickers apple, and the avalanche apple. You can request that the apples be sliced for you as well. I swear this place has been around for a long time. As we were picking stuff up at the food court we decided to stop by the chocolate shop right next door. It's pretty small in size but there are a lot of choices. It wasn't busy and I was greeted politely. They had an assortment of different covered apples. They all looked so beautiful it was hard to choose from. I got the one that had nuts and chocolate on it. The apple itself was a green granny apple and was crunchy. Now, the bad is that the stick didn't stay which sucked... I couldn't bite and walk at the same time. We got some truffles that were delicious. The outside was hard but soft at the same time and the inside was filled with creamy Nutella. I can never say no to chocolate covered almonds! YUM! So I got a hand full of those. Came from out of town to go shopping here at the concord mall and Just went and bought a few chocolate caramel apples since the one near us closed down a few years ago. Right when I got home I cut one open and there was MOLD. Totally disgusting. Very disappointed and really wanted to enjoy the apples but had to throw them out. These apples must have been there a long time and I guess they are still selling them? I will be calling in the morning to hopefully speak to a manager since the store is closed now. I have passed by here numerous times, but decided to stop by once and for all. I noticed they have their huge bear back, whose cute name is Truffles. They have a variety of chocolate and candies throughout their small shop, varying from the caramel apples to their truffles. The service was rather nice, despite being busy on a weekend. I had a nice lady assist me throughout the process, even giving me a free sample of their potato chip drizzled with chocolate. I can say that the service here is really nice and kind. Dubai Chocolate: I have never heard of this before, so I had to give it a try. The price is a bit steep for one bar of 10 squares ($16) but it was rather delicious. It tasted like pistachio to me and the portions size is rather fair. Overall, I did enjoy the chocolate overall. Potato Chip with Chocolate Drizzle: Now this was something I did not expect myself to enjoy. It's a combo of salty and sweet and I thoroughly loved it. The chocolate tasted amazing to go along with the potato chip. When you bite into the saltiness, you feel the sweetness of the chocolate come through, making you want to eat more and more. Though the 7 oz bag is about $10, I feel like I can go through a single bag a day if I did not control my self. I recommend everyone give this one a try if you can. I'm from British Columbia, where I enjoy the quality and flavours of our local chocolate companies, Purdys and Rogers Chocolates. While in Calgary Airport with time between flights, I decided to try Rocky Mountain and bought a 17 piece Xmas box for Cdn$45- (+ tax). The chocolates were small and of very average quality and unmemorable flavors. They were very expensive relative to much better quality options, such as Purdys and Godiva Chocolates. The Service provided by both staff in the outlet was very good. Both were very pleasant and helpful. But I won't be a returning customer given the average quality and high prices of Rocky's products. read more

One of the apples we got had moldy chocolate on it and the fudge was rock hard, neither of which we noticed until we got home west of the tunnel... the checkout person had to have known about the fudge just from how it felt to pick it up. So now I also feel like she knew and just didn't care. Toffee Candied Apple {3/5 stars, $11} - A little pricey, but I have tried this apple before from other locations and was delicious, but this apple was a little dry, and toffee tasted stale. What I found, is this apple is best eaten after cooling in fridge, which made it taste a whole lot better. Service: Ok. Two workers, one a cashier and one making caramel. The employee seemed annoyed that I was interrupted her chit chatting and seemed like she did not want to be there at all. Came upon this place while shopping at the mall. I love caramel apples, so I was intrigued when I saw them through the store window. At first glance, you'll notice all the sweets, perfectly packaged and arranged. There are so many different sweets and apples to choose from so I went with one chocolate covered strawberry and one of the Rocky Road covered apple. They were both mediocre at best. The chocolate strawberry taste like something I could have made at home by myself, using nutella. The caramel apple was by far a sweet treat for me. I like that is was completely coated. Took my daughters shopping at Sun Valley Mall. I needed a chocolate fix and spied Rocky Mountain Chocolate at the edge of the food court. Went in and a man and woman were working. They were very kind and pleasant and patient as I decided what individual chocolates to purchase. When I noticed the gentleman was starting to make fudge in the copper bowl - I asked him if he was making it. We had a pleasant conversation about making fudge. I did by some fudge and it was very good. The other chocolates I bought were also very good. I am a big fan of their apples. I have tried their apples on multiple occasions and found them to be fresh and delicious every time. Some of my favorites have been the Salted Caramel apple and the Pecan Bear. My new favorite however is the bag of chocolate covered potato chips. Just the right balance of sweet, salty and crunchy. I will be coming back for these again and again. Another delicious treat is their Dubai Chocolate. It was recommended to me by the staff and it did not disappoint. I'm always a fan of caramel apples and whenever I see a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Shop I always want to get one. I was in the mood for something with caramel, chocolate, and nuts. Another customer recommended the Almond Bear Apple which had all of that. I didn't realize it's almost $10 for a gourmet caramel apple! They can cut it up for you which I recommend is easier eating. I just wished my apple was a little more crunchy. They have gourmet chocolates and other apples available, I wonder how old the apples are. Bought rocky road fudge today because I was craving fudge and when I came home, I opened the container to find mold all over it. It wouldn't be as disappointing if this fudge wasn't also expensive and it has to go straight to the garbage. Sadly won't be coming back since I don't know the shelf life of everything else in store. Well I would give this one star but I want to give these folks the benefit of the doubt. The chocolate really isn't exceptional. If you want something really good - and more affordable, go to Sees. What really irked me about my experience is the fact that they didn't tare the scale and the guy packed my bag with extra stuff - wrappers. And the bag itself is pretty heavy. Probably more than one of the chocolates. And I could tell they knew what they were doing. I looked at the scale and the guy behind smirked. And the man who appeared to be the manager smiled too. Now, this sort of adds up. You hear about the stereotype of the butcher who puts his thumb on the scale - that's what these folks do. Rather than give a customer a nice deal on something enjoyable. You folks are packing up the weight so you can get more money. Not very nice. And honestly, I won't go any more into the description of the proprietors but I probably should have passed on by looking at the way they carried themselves. I would not recommend this place. The Sunvalley Mall indeed is one of the best shopping malls with the Best neighboring shops in Norcal! BUT, Rocky Mountain Chocolate, this particular location is the worst store ever to be included in the mall. we have been to too many branches of this Chocolate shop but so far this is the worst when it comes to CUSTOMER SERVICE! As we entered the shop, they were just standing there, waiting and none of them ever greeted us.. when we ordered our favorite Rocky Road, we requested to cut in half & none of them replied!
