    Fish camp vibes!
    Richard C.

A NOLA local buddy of mine told me about this spot on the West Bank and I'm glad he did. It was like an old school fish camp. The food was great. I'd never had white beans and rice before. It had andouille sausage and gulf shrimp. I was comfortable when I finished, but not stuffed.

Crawfish Pie! Who would have thunk it?? Positioned at the end of what looks like a great seafood market! Shrimp Po Boy and Crawfish Pie both kicked it out of the park! Fast and friendly service in a casual atmosphere made for a very memorable lunch!

Love this place. Service is awesome. Thank You Ms Amy and Ms Bridgette. My friends and I went two days in a row. We needed up here by chance but n the first day and then day two drove 30min just to eat here. No one complained. Even my friend who is super health conscious loved the fried catfish. Not greasy and seasoned well. Also, make room for dessert. The bread pudding was awesome and I don't even like bread pudding.

Food is delicious. Can't go wrong here, service was also great. Sat on the patio watching the airboat tours coming and going.

If you are visiting Louisiana, make this a spot to visit and dine. Great place to eat after you've done a boat tour. My best friend and I were immediate greeted when we walked through the door and sat by Amy the manager. She introduced herself and went over the menu. We started out with the Crab Dip, omggg it was super delicious. I ordered the Sausage Gumbo but Amy had a little surprise for me and brought out a side of potato salad to go with it. It was perfection. My friend had Crab Cakes, it was amazing. At the end, sweet Amy served us some delicious Bread Pudding and a slice of "King Cake". Amy was incredible and the food was made to perfection.

The shrimp remolaude sauce is delicious with huge spicy boiled shrimp. We shared the seafood platter and it was so crispy. This is one of our favorite places that's off the beaten path. Highly recommend!! Service is always wonderful and nice.

The moment the cab drop us right at the footsteps of Southern Comfort B & B, our cab driver…read moreremarked excitedly, "Are you guys gonna be staying here? This is a good-looking house!" Of course, we couldn't wait to see what's inside. :) Cindee, the lovely owner, met us on arrival and after we were settled in, sat us down in the kitchen where she briefed us with a map in hand and shared much information on the places we were planning to visit. They were particularly useful since it was our virgin trip to New Orleans. From where to go, how to go and where to eat! She has it all covered! The Horizon room which we stayed in located towards the back of the house was very clean and peaceful. The Queen size four poster bed was immensely comfortable with amazingly soft and smooth sheets that I can't help but doze off within minutes. The bathroom was spacious and although it looked like it came from the 70s, my hot shower wasn't compromised in anyway. The citrus scented shampoos and soaps were lovely too. The breakfast Cindee prepared was delightful and healthy. We had plain yoghurt topped with granola and berries, some raisin toast, followed by a spinach and cheese quiche with really tasty bacon. A guest who sat on my left ate only the raisin toast and I felt bad for him. Like the earlier reviewer mentioned, it'll be great if she could note down our breakfast preferences. I pictured Cindee to be chatting with us or sharing some interesting stories while we munch our breakfast but I guess she was too tied up in the kitchen. On location, SCBB is located a few blocks off the Garden District area. We appreciate the short, easy walk to take the street car on St. Charles Ave which takes you the Garden District, Arts District and the French Quarter. The wait time for street car which I have timed, is around 15min or less. We had Cynthia, the driver that Cindee recommends, to take us to the airport and though she didn't give a hand with the bags/ luggage, we are definitely glad that she arrived early. Although we stayed for just one night, saying goodbye to Cindee felt like saying goodbye to an aunt. Well, as they say, staying at B & Bs is akin to staying with your aunt/uncles- I guess it does really feel like one!

The bar has four seats, and there is no host stand. I had to wait a couple of minutes to be seated because they were busy, but that was fine. I started with the complimentary amuse bouche, a duck liver crostini, and some house-made bread. The butter was lovely. There was a list of specials; one of them was a potato dish in honor of Dolly Parton. It was probably the best part of my meal. I got the three course Coolinary meal: a scallop dish, the wagyu brisket and fries, and the Krispy Kreme bread pudding. Everything was good. I loved the citrus component on the scallops, but the fries were a bit salty and the dessert was too sweet for me. I will say that I heard the people at the table next to mine rave about the bread pudding. My server, Sophie, was attentive. She offered ice cream (at no charge) to go with my bread pudding. She was also apologetic when letting me know that the kitchen was backed up. My courses still came at the perfect pace for my liking, even though they were busy. Overall, this was a great dining experience.

Chef Myron is going to need a bigger diner room when word gets out about them. Thanks for never disappointing, Lebrane's!

The same Mac & Cheese was listed for $4.00. It was never explained of a cost difference after being told I can substitute because so I was going to get the Mac & Cheese regardless to try it out. I also ordered the Baked Bread Pudding. Placing the order took a little time and the Kiosk seemed to be a little cumbersome. Paying attention to my receipt, I see a To Go Fee of. $0.75 which isn't much but it was just an observation. Service is not quick! Order was placed at 11:57 and I received my close to an hour later. So I took a seat and patiently waited for my name to be call. Started paying attention to other patrons who were dining in and waiting for their food. Each table had people sitting down and having casual conversation. I counted about 21 people including myself. The atmosphere was pleasant but it was not giving. They had music playing from station 107.5. I'm a stickler for sanitation and it's the little things that matter....dipping cups in an ice machine vice using a ice scooper, wearing gloves particularly when servicing food to those dining in and not using a tray bring out food. Simply doing too much to not be consistently washing hands. Same person taking away soiled trays is bringing out food. One customer had to ask for utensils for his Togo orders as he didn't have any. A second customer just got her Togo order and had to ask for utensils as well. Just saying with a To Go Fee, you think that someone will check or maybe they are just overwhelmed with the services they are trying to provide. 30 minutes later, I'm still patiently waiting and listening to Drake with my AirPods in. So this is heavily leaning towards a One Shot One Kill for me. This business had 6 potential customers who came in and walked out. I witnessed four potential customers who were never greeted or given an explanation as to how the operation goes. It's safe to say they more than likely will not be coming back. They were on the lure but the lack of acknowledgment allowed them to get away. Update: Got my food in To Go containers at approximately 56 minutes after paying for my order. I did check my bag before leaving and no utensils could be found. Once I got back to my office, I saw that they did place a fork in each tray which was essentially covered with food as it was not separated. I would prefer to have a utensil pack or a knife and fork wrapped in a napkin. Guess only reason is that my food all being cooked fresh as it's ordered Joking How was the food? Fish and Shrimp: Tasty with a nice consistency for then breading. Lasagna: Simply did not have the layers for me as meat sauce, noodles, cheese filling (did not exist. The top layer of the lasagna had some hard spots and the ends of the noodle were crunchy. The sauce beneath it was on the sweat side and did not match the same flavor of the lasagna itself. Mac & Cheese: Peppery flavor with cheese tasting more on the Velvetta side. I never pictured Mac & Cheese with shells. Surely was not expecting it to be like this. Bread Pudding: Best Part of the Meal. The flavor, consistency and sweetness were all on point! . They did have sauce on the Menu for a $1 but prior to my order, I thought a sauce was automatic like many other locations serve. I did not let my emotions overtake my Honest review!

Today, they literally forgot to add on two items in my order (I ordered several items and two cooked food items). They punched my ordered food card and told me that it was OK to wait outside while it was cooked. When we came back inside sometime later, they said that it was not prepared and we didn't pay for it. I was so confused and then looked at our receipt and sure enough they hadn't rung it up...but why?? Why repeat my order, call it out to the person cooking, ring up everything else, punch the food card, tell me I can wait outside until it's done only to tell me later that it wasn't paid for??!! No remorse, no swift action to correct so I can pay and they expedite the order. Just a complete nonchalant attitude as if I was trying to swindle them or something. One of them just laughed.
