This bakery opened two weeks ago on the first floor of Galleria Mall, next to Louis Vuitton (temporary location) and Sephora. It's a cute little place with contemporary Paris flair. They were offering free samples of their croissants and other baked goods, and the croissants were on point! Since we were already full I ordered the croissant, chocolate croissant, and a few Madeline cookies to go, I will try the coffee next round and update this review. The cookies were fluffy and guaranteed to hit the spot with a cup of coffee or tea. Service is wonderful, the owner stopped by every table to ask how everything was. Gluten free French treats ! I am so glad I found this place, so many gluten free options amidst non gluten free so no one feels left out. We came in for a quick treat and a mid afternoon coffee pick me up. We got the vanilla latte, it was made really well! We also picked up some bakery treats, all which were made well. I got the mini kouign amann and the raisin bakery roll with custard filling, both were buttery and flaky. I felt that both were a bit on the sweet side, so taking down the sweetness will probably help bring out the richness of both treats. The owner was super friendly, and told us he makes everything in-house, which is very impressive given the number of items for sale. Service is fine. We got the kouign aman pastries, which are really hard to find in Dallas metro. This review is specifically for those. They were small, but adequately priced which is why we got them (and because they're so hard to find), but they were so hard and dense. They're supposed to be caramelized on the bottom but the whole thing was which contributed to the density. In addition, the caramelization was too thick and sticky. One would think a new business would welcome customers. Not my experience. I walked in, waited behind someone for a few minutes, then looked around and walked back to the counter. Being next in line didn't seem to matter to either of the two people working there. Another woman then walked in and went straight to the cash register and was waited on by a young guy with black hair. He and the older African American man working there obviously saw me waiting when I walked in. The older man just looked at me and walked into the back. Hello, guess who pays your salary - customers who buy. I walked out. I live nearby and planned to buy desserts for a party of 8 but decided to give my business elsewhere.
