No information posted on their website regarding dress code. My wife and I were invited to attend an album release party at this establishment. I called regarding dress code and no one ever answered the phone. We showed up on a rainy Saturday night, parking was horrendous so I had the valet park my car. Security met us at the door and told us we were not allowed in because the flat sandals which my wife was wearing were not appropriate. One guard said and I quote "but, they are not slippers and have straps all the way around" the female guard however, insisted she was not allowed in. So we had to retrieve our car from the valet apologize to the artist and drive and hour back to Harford County, after having dinner at a very nice restaurant at Harbor East where they gladly treated us with the proper courtesy and no shoe discrimination. Yet another reason why I do not waste my time and money at this type of ethnic establishment. If you are older and dress conservatively and want to visit this place buy some cheap taudry garments with cheap inappropriate heels and you are on your way. read more

My friends and I tried out Select Lounge for the first time last night. We are already disappointed in the Baltimore club scene, but Select boasts that it is bringing it back to Baltimore so we decided to give it a shot. The deal was doors open at 10, if you are on the list ladies are free to 11 and guys are free til 10:30 and there is an open bar 10-11. One of my friends knows an employee and we got on the list no problems. We showed up around 9:30 to see that there was already a line outside. We decided to wait despite it being 25 degrees outside and super windy, plus we knew the doors didnt open until 10 anyway. So, long story short, come 10:45 we are still waiting in line, exactly where we started and we decided to leave because our bodies were shutting down from hypothermia. The club seriously held the line for an hour so that nobody could get in free. The only people who could get in were those who bought tables in VIP. Now why even have a special on prices if you're going to be so stingy that you'd rather make your customers freeze to death in the elements than actually honor them? I'd rather go knowing I'm going to have to pay cover from the start then freeze to death. In my opinion, this place is only adding to the already poor club scene in Baltimore. They are attempting to bring a little bit of DC to the area, which I would embrace 100 percent, but they're bringing only the negative parts. They need to readjust their business model. Yes a club is a very lucrative business, and yes, club owners can extort a little power over their patrons, but that is only to a certain extent. Once you start going over board with it you're only going to piss people off and give yourself a bad name. The only thing that came out of the club holding the line is later that night there was a shooting that ended fatally for a police officer and one of the club goers and also injured four other people. STAY AWAY! This place was absolutely horrible!! First off we were told it opened up at 9:00 it didn't open until 10pm. Then we were told that we could get a hooka to get a table instead of the required $60 bottle. We said cool because basically that's less money we have to put out. Then later the waitress comes back and says that we have to move because these tables are reserved for wine bottle purchases. I then said but you told us we could get the hooka instead. She said this is what her manager told her. So I nicely went to the manager and explained him to what happened he said ok, we'll take back the hooka and you can get the bottle. Ok great! NOT.... 20 minutes later Alex the owner said that we had to get the hooka and the $60 bottle which came up to $96!! Not counting my three friends paid $20 to get in(when they were told it would be $10 when they called). Also the normal drinks were over priced. The place wasn't even that nice big burn holes in the couch. If my friends didn't pay that much money we would've left. Also the music was good at the beginning a mixture of old school and new. Towards the end it was for the young kids. If your over 25 this is not the place for you. Oh and for some reason the bathroom doors stay open each time I closed it when I came back it was open. Wackness! Paying $20.00 to get in any club in Baltimore seems a little outrageous, but since there was a line out the door, I went with my homegirl for her birthday. Twenty dollars for one level! Are you kidding me? If you are a young twenty-something man looking for a quick thrill, this might be your speed (hair weaves, cheap heals and short skirts galore) , but since my girlfriend and I are 28 and 33 respectively, we left five minutes in begging for our money back! They wouldn't give it to us even though it was my friend's birthday. They offered to give us tickets for another night, but I will not be supporting thieir bar! She came out because some guy who worked in the club invited her, but he was wack too! Ugh! The owner was wearing a flannel shirt in July and there were no seats--unless you are willing to buy a table. We are teachers, so we don't ball like that--even on her birthday--I hate pretentious bourgeouis clubs, so we took the forty dollar loss and went to Melbas to be around some real folks. Even if you are bourgeouis and pretentious, I suggest you spend the extra ten dollars in gas money and drive to DC where you get more bang for your buck! Club Dream (now Love) was twenty-dollars for four floors of great music, dancing and fineness! Select gets a pass! read more

From the outside this place looks dull but the inside is pretty nice, big dance floor and plenty of tables for vip. The DJ played a lil bit of everything and keep the crowd hype. Me and about 7 other dudes went her to celebrate a birthday on a Sat night. The crowd wasn't really that big though, most everybody was at the tables crowded around each other texting. The bartenders at the bar were some of the most gorgeous bartenders I ever seen. The woman on the dance floor however just seemed to be standing around looking stupid. Why do some woman go to clubs just to act like they too good to dance with anybody? It just seem like they were more interested in dancing amongst themselves or literally just standing there and I hate that. Ladies if you want to go the club at least go out and dance with other ppl dont sit there and act stuck up when we try and dance with you. But anyways, we still had a good time. Been a few times, only because friends dragged me for certain events. Would never make plans to go here on my own. Sad attempt of another club trying to be boujie in Baltimore but doing table service all wrong. While I'll give them the decor is better than some other spots the service & owners are wack & rude. There's no reason to pay $250 + for a bottle of Ciroc (that you can get at the liquor store for $45) in this venue. The reason people over pay for bottles in the club is because of the atmosphere & clientele, not because vodka taste better when you pay 5 times more for it. So if they want to get that kind of business they need to step it up, if that's even possible given how they've started. Lets be honest we're gonna see the same old Bmore folks and promoters most every where we go so I'd rather go to a place where the owners aren't rude as shit & support that business. Mirage is a better executed example of the type of club select is trying to be. And Eden's is more fun even tho it's not trying to be boujie, just a better vibe and the owner is good to her customers. Select is gonna end up being the next club Choices at best. Very nice lounge on the inside.. Been there about 3 times. And my 3rd time will be my LAST time. I wanted to celebrate my bday here because I liked the environment the last time I came. Early in the week, I brought in my deposit to reserve a table for the night of my birthday. The manager ALEX was "in a meeting" so I met with a bartender who went thru the paperwork with me and told me where I would possibly be seated the night of my birthday. She gave me a copy of the contract and invited my cousins and I to stay for happy hour but we declined.... The night of my birthday is here. We arrive at 1145. Paid $10 for valet. We enter and I show my contract letting the people know I have a table reserved.. LO AND BEHOLD MY NAME ISNT ON THE LIST FOR A TABLE. So at this point I'm ANGRY. Another woman comes out and brings my guests and I all the way to the back into a room with dingy tables and stools that is closed off for those who want to smoke hookah and she tells us to sit there. We sat but I asked for the owner because I did NOT pay to sit in a small ass secluded area that's not what I paid for! Finally the owner comes out whispers in the lady's ear and he couldn't even be a man and speak to me himself which was completely unprofessional. The lady then told us to follow her. She bought us up to the stage area with a bunch of other ppl who claimed they had the same problem I had. The area was crowded and had small coffee tables. I'm not about to pop a bottle in this little ass area. Now I'm heated. Smoke coming out of my ears. A friend of mine called Alex over again after I expressed I didn't want to stay there and he gave me my deposit back, thank goodness because I was gonna OWN select lounge by the end of the year. He did not apologize to me but said we had to pay the $20 admission fee for entering the club. We all walked out without giving him a dime! Now regardless if I got there late or not I paid my money so They should have had a table waiting for me. There were so many empty VIP sections but I heard they leave those vacant because sometimes a Baltimore Ravens player or "someone with money" may show up and need it which is BULLSHIT. first off i had never been to this club...i am not from the baltimore area however this was the worst experience i had ever had in a club. it was my birthday so i reserved a vip table and was quoted a fee of $250 and a $100 deposit. i had talked to the owner quite a few times leading up to my event. i went a week prior to, to pay my deposit-check out the club and sign the contract. this particular night i was told by the owner himself (alex) to meet him there by 8:30pm only to get there and he wasn't there nor did he notify anyone that i was coming. i thought that was very unprofessional but i still went ahead and set up everything with his brother (yani). he didn't have any knowledge of much of anything. he asked me what was the price i was told for the table i said $250 he said ok. i asked what bottles came with the table he told me my choice of vodka and house champagne which was fine. i also asked did i have a choice as to what table i would be seated at and was told that it was kinda on a first come first serve basis which was also fine. so i paid the deposit and we arranged for me to pay the rest the night of my event. the night of my event immediately i was pressed out and screamed at by security at the door. it was me and about 8 of my friends (all females) harmless. once we got on the inside of the door they checked our id's, asked my name for the vip list and asked who were my guest. when i pointed to my guest they replied "all these ppl are with you?" as if there was a problem. so i replied yes, i was told i was only allotted 6 ppl to get in free with my table which was fine. then suddenly the same abrupt security guard outside came in yelling "hold up, hold up! this is a problem! none of you meet the dress code" when i asked what dress code she was referring to she replied "ma'am your body language isn't needed" still wondering what body language she was referring to because all i asked was a question. the ladies at the door and i as well were trying to explain to her that i had reserved a table so it didn't necessarily apply to me the things that she was saying. her only reply was "im just trying to do my job" so they made me and my guest stand to the side while she went in to talk to the owner,she came back out and gave us the ok to proceed. so we get seated at a table on the floor while all of the other tables are vacant. so immediately i ask the waitress why am i being seated on the floor when i was told as long as i got here early enough i would be able to choose where i wanted to be seated. she told me no that those tables had to be reserved i told her that's not what was explained to me. she asked who did i reserve my table with and i said the owners brother yani and she said that she would be back. when she came back to the table she never said anything else to me about the table situation but asked me what were we drinking. i said well i was told vodka and house champagne comes with this table she said no u have to pay $300 for a bottle. im confused as to what it is exactly im paying extra for. so she steps off again and comes back and says yes u have to pay $300 for gratuity! gratuity? gratuity doesn't exceed $20 so again what am i paying another $300 for? she explains she was confused as well and asked what was it that i wanted to do. i explained that from jump you have made me and my guest feel very uncomfortable, this is very unprofessional and embarrassing. not once did the owner or his brother come say anything to me but only sent messages! so i said honestly you can just give me my money back and we can leave! she leaves and comes back with my money and says "and he says you all need to leave!" i have never been so embarrassed in my life; i would never recommend anyone to this spot! read more
