Oscar and his crew did excellent work trimming our trees and clearing an overgrown landscape. Oscar is very quick to respond my calls and spending time discussing options. He is very knowledgeable and provides honest opinions. Always high quality work, will hire him again. This is an update. We had Oscar working on our trees before, so were our neighbors. This is the first time we had Oscar working on our landscape in the back yard. It was a daunting task: demolition and removal of a lot of dirt and bricks from a raised area near our pool, digging out stubborn roots from trees and our golden bamboo. Imagine, this was done under 80-90F blistering hot sun. What impressed me the most was that Oscar was on site often, doing the hard digging with his crew himself. He is amazingly hard-working, meticulous, and he is a PERFECTIONIST, a self-driven A+ person, no wonder when you see his all 5 star ratings. He is very low-key though, always wanted to do the best job. After demolition, Oscar and his team built a beautiful ~ 100ft retaining wall, and a planting bed with beautiful evergreen privacy screen. Everyone saw the transformation commented what a beautiful work. I highly recommend Oscar's Selected Tree Service, because he and his team is very skilled and experienced. Oscar, the owner, came out two days after I called, on a SUNDAY! He gave me a fair quote (though, with tree trimming, how does one know what a fair price really is?) and set up the job for a few days later. He and his crew of two did a fine job, neatly trimming the trees as requested and doing a great job cleaning up. I really liked the fact that Oscar himself did the job, from start to finish rather than sending a crew. I was happy enough with his work ethic that I have since hired him to do my weekly yard work. After one week, the yard is looking better already. It's now been two months of his team doing yard work around our backyard. Unfortunately, Oscar is not present during those weekly visits. While the two guys doing the work do an adequate job, I find I have to leave a weekly note on what I want them to do. My backyard is not so big that they wouldn't know where to begin, so it's been a bit disappointing. The other thing is they cut away much of our ground cover on a small hill, and it doesn't look very pleasing to the eye. I am hoping Oscar will pay to have some new ground cover installed. I met with Oscar on a Saturday and he and his crew were out as scheduled early Monday morning. They cleared three huge, overgrown, weed-filled steep banks and trimmed by 30-40 foot Queen Palms by lunch time. I had been nibbling away at my banks for months, getting pretty much nowhere. I cannot give Oscar a higher recommendation. He is professional, reliable, reasonable and did terrific work....and everyone on his crew are extremely nice. We hired Oscar and his crew to remove some old, dead trees and plant new ones. He responded immediately and came over that same day to look at the project and give an estimate. His estimate was far below any other quotes we got. After we told him we wanted to move forward, he started the next day. We also asked him to install a drip system. Removing about 10 trees/bushes, planting 24 new trees and installing the drip system only took them 2 days and it looks amazing! I had two very large and annoying Hibiscus bushes that were a huge "white fly" magnet and maintaining them just wasn't cutting it anymore so I got a flyer with Oscars info on it and gave him a call. He came out quickly and gave me a fair priced quote, the following week I called him to come remove them and he was out front with his crew within a day and they removed those two hibiscus very quickly all the way down to the roots. Oscar and his team with Select Tree Service quoted me on having 3 very tall Mexican Palms trimmed as they had been neglected for YEARS from the prior owner of our new home. It was a hazard they were so bad. I obtained 3 different estimates and not only was Oscar's quote the most reasonable, their service was TOP NOTCH. I was fascinated watching these guys work together and use ropes to get to the top of the trees so they could cut from the top down. The trees look amazing now. Also, they cleaned up ALL debris that dropped into my yard and my neighbor's yards. They didn't just pick up, but they raked and used a blower as well.
