BEWARE: FALSE ADVERTISING. Absolute scumbags. They are deliberately baiting and switching people that are excited to get specific vehicles. They have the same 2001 Porsche 996 car listed on ebay, cars.com, auto trader and several other sites (see attached photo). I called and made an appointment to see the car and was told they would have the car pulled out and ready. 2 hours later, I drove down to see the car and was told by some kid that works there "Oh yeah sorry that car sold last night". ???? I say "Okay, then why didn't you say that when I called?" I went down there to look at a car that must have been sold a LONG time ago. They wanted to show me other cars- cars I have no interest in because I know what I want- so I refused and left. There is another review by Jean B from 2017 where they used the same exact tactic on her, but convinced her to buy a different vehicle from them- one with mechanical issues they didn't help to solve. They just leave ads up to lure people into their lot- knowing what they're advertising is absolutely false. Let me provide a little back drop before I get into the review, to set the stage. I was in the market for a clean Audi A8. Being somewhat of an Audi enthusiast (My prior A8 was with me for 5 years and before that was an S4 and A6.); I am very particular and detail oriented, so I definitely passed on a few A8s before I came to the one at Selective Motor Cars. I was doing an online search for the car on a Saturday and came by a listing of the A8 around 5p, I called Selective Motor cars and let them know I was headed down to look at the car. I arrived maybe 15min before closing time (5:45p) and absolutely knew it was the one. It was the cleanest A8 based on my search and after glancing at the other cars in the showroom, I knew they hand pick cars based on the collection. I will spare you all the details but I have to say that everyone in the dealership stayed late to accommodate my wife and 3 kids during the car buying process. I know it was a Saturday night and people often make plans with loved ones, but not once did we feel rushed during the process! Sorry guys for keeping you so late, and we can't say thank you enough for a wonderful car buying experience. We absolutely love the car and will most definitely consider bringing our business to you for our next car purchase! Agreed and put it in writing. It is now two months later and I haven't received the check. Two phone messages have not been answered. Today I finally got Ross on the phone and explained that I haven't received my $200. He put me on hold so he could "talk to the manager" and then our phone conversation was cut off. I called back but no one answered, notr have they contacted me. Additionally, after buying the car, I discovered I needed new axles, a transfer case, U joints-basically entire front end for $4000. I recently bought a 2010 BMW 135i from Selective Motor Cars and I had a great experience. I filled out a credit application on their website and they got me approved for the car that I wanted. When I arrived to test drive the car, it was exactly as advertised. There were no high-pressure sales tactics. The staff was very knowledgeable and honest about the cars' history and condition. The finance staff didn't try to tack on any extra charges to final purchase price or sell me anything extra that I didn't want. The service here is amazing. They paid for my Lyft ride down to their dealership and bought me a set of new floor mats from the dealership. I've had the car for about a week now and I'm very happy with it. I was forced into looking for another car since I was involved in a recent accident and my insurance declared my car a total loss. Wasn't getting much from insurance for the total loss so I was on a limited budget. I looked all over; internet, dealers, Autotrader, etc.. I sent them an email letting them know I was interested in the car and Ross responded within minutes. He asked me to come down and look at the car when it was convenient for me; no pressure. I was in the area so I went over to look at the car. Ross immediately helped me as soon as I walked through the door. The car was in their side lot behind about 6 other cars. Ross had all the other cars moved right away so I could take it out for a test drive. I immediately liked the car and told him I would take it. I then went to my credit union to secure financing. Ross was very helpful with providing the credit union with the necessary paperwork right away. After obtaining the financing I went back to Selective Motor Cars and completed the paperwork with Mario. Mario was awesome and got me, my wife and my 7 year-old son out of there as soon as possible. While we were waiting for Mario to finish up the paperwork, Ross took me & my son into the back warehouse where they have all of their high-end/exotic cars. My son loved that! I appreciated him doing that to keep my son busy since he had been bored most of the day going from one place to another to look at cars. Ross & Mario, thank you for a painless car-buying experience! We bought a 2003 Mercedes SL500 with 111k miles. It was a one owner and an extensive Carfax for service records. We bought the car in Feb 2019....to date we have paid over the cost of the car in repairs. We are into the car now for about $16k....the front brakes are out...which should have been checked by Ali before offering the car for sale. In my entire life I have never had such a problem with a vehicle. So much should have been check by them but it was not. Yes...I know,,,car was bought as-is and I know we have no recourse....but these guys knew of some of the problems that existed. I am NOT a hate monger and don't like posting negative reviews,,,but inspect your car by an independent mechanic before buying here. I bought a 2000 Mercedes SL 500 recently from Selective Motor Cars and have nothing but high marks! The SL was on my car "bucket" list and after research I narrowed down what I was looking for and they had an immaculate, low mileage available. Not onlt was the price reasonable, but they really went above and beyond compared to other used car dealer experiences; I say that because on the day I picked up the car the automatic door/trunk locks stopped working with key fob. Turns out the vacuum pump was failing (older cars are going to have some issues). They offered to buy the pump and sure enough when I found the right part on EBay, they bought it and shipped it to me and I now everything works correctly! The part was not cheap but they kept their promise and came through! Big recommend for anyone looking for good used Mercedes, BMWs, etc... read more

At my request, he took the car for an offsite independent pre-purchase inspection I arranged. The inspector indicated it was in near perfect condition, with the exception of a minor transmission leak. The dealer had the leaked fixed.
