This used to be a great place for my family and I to go eat, up until today. I ordered two tacos for my son to go. Ok...fine all is well until my son ate half of his beef fajita taco. He found what looked gauses. Omg!! We freaked out!!! With all of these diseases why wouldn't we freak out? So I called and asked to speak to the manager. Made him aware of what happened. When I got there I met with the manager Art. I showed him the tacos. He then went to the back and brought me a raw piece of steak. There he showed me that its the wrapping from the meat. I was like ok..I feel better, and I told him that I felt better. Then he proceeded to insult me by saying...if your going to post this on Facebook make sure that you tell the truth! I was like really? I'm the affected party here and u show no remorse what so ever!?! As if I the customer did something wrong!?! Talk about adding insult to injury! Smh. No I'm sorry...nothing. Very busy place close by Randolph AFB. You cannot miss it from the highway as it is a very purplish pink garish pre-engineered structure a couple miles east of the base. Very no frills interior, a little grimy inside. But, again, Mexican is all about food and not the frills of three star Michelin dining. Really good and huge quantity of shrimp fajitas w beans, guacamole, and awesome hand made corn tortillas. Price was only $9.25 which is about 1/2 of what this would cost back home in Hawaii ! Shrimp were a little small compared with the huge ones I was served the other day at Chapala Jalisco. Will return; only 4 stars due to the smaller shrimp and a little too grimy (bathroom not the greatest, but at least there was soap ). read more

I pass by this place all the time thinkin I should stop in sometime. Today I stop in there with my girlfriend for lunch. The hot sauce tasted like spaghetti sauce with pepper. The chips were very stale. Lunch comes out we ordered the number 6. It wasn't too bad for cheap food. Bout the time I get up to pay the check my girlfriend notices live roaches crawling under our seat. Made us sick to our stomachs! The more I looked around the more I realized how nasty the place was. Best Cheese Enchiladas in San Antonio, Hands down. We accidentally bumped into this restaurant and loved their food. We now periodically drive 30 mins out of our way specifically to eat here. Their #1 specialty is the Cheese enchilada. We have been all over town and none other restaurant even comes close. The cost for 2 people ordering the cheese enchilada plate, which usually comes with 2 cheese enchiladas, rice, refried beans and either a chalupa, an extra enchilada, carne guisada, etc, and each with Tea, comes out to about $12. I see here many people complaining about the waitresses or even the "niceness" of the place. Look, you're spending $12 for two people. This is not a fancy place to eat. You wouldn't take your first date or a business client here. This place is simply made for you to eat their delicious food. That being said, the waitresses are always helpful so, no complains there from me. read more

I was very disappointed in this place after hearing such good things about it. The salsa was terrible. It tasted like marinara sauce. We also ordered the mango margaritas and when we got them, they were so liquid-like and tasted like bland juice. I was not impressed. The waiter and the manager were also very rude. I visited Sely's for the first time last night after my old favorite La Tortillita closed down. I heard that the owner's son runs this place and I could tell, as the enchiladas and tea, as well as their chips and salsa were very similar to my my old favorite place. Cannot BELIEVE they charged for the to go boxes! It was like I was at a "dollar me to death" nail salon! The food was not all that and too expensive for Mexican food. When I asked for the containers to go that was one of the biggest surpises Ive ever had-- he took my ticket and ADDED 1$ for the container to put the FOOD that I just ATE and am about to PAY for in. Today the food just wasn't the same. We have been eating here at Sely's for 3 years now. With the young generation coming in and trying is a great thing but the service was just really bad for one. Sitting and watching there was a girl working the back room by the bathrooms and she was asked to wait on one table. A second table came in and she just walked off. Another table that was in front of us asked for hot sauce and the young waitress grabbed 2 bottles off of the dirty dish tray and gave them to them. Plus my cup had some black stuff in it, our carneguisada taco was burnt. We have never seen or had this kind of service here at all. It's bad that it is coming down to this. read more

I've been coming here for years now since its right by my house. I've never been disappointed. I normally just stop in to pick up breakfast tacos but have eaten inside on numerous occasions with family and friends. Their service is great! You never have to ask for refills because they are always a step ahead. When I call and place an order for pick up its super easy and no hassle. My good is always ready on time and hot! The portions sizes on all their meals are way more than enough so you will get your money's worth! Plus the prices aren't bad at all. For a family of 4 we spend no more than $50. Pretty good of you're on a budget. The tables and floors are always clean and inviting. They have a couple of huge tv screens so you can watch the news or sports while you enjoy your meal. They also provide alcoholic beverages at good prices and even have a happy hour. read more

I'm not sure what everyone seems to see in this restaurant. My daughter and I walked in and it immediately smelled like old people home, but we figured with the great reviews we'd still give it a shot. We ordered the fajita nachos, flauta's, bean and cheese taco, and tea and coke. I asked for unsweet tea, got sweet tea, so I just didn't drink it, I don't like to make a stink over something trivial. Then we got our fajita nachos. It was supposed to be beef, but it was some semblance of mystery meat, with plastic tasting guacamole. We then got our meal, my daughter had a simple bean and cheese taco, she seemed to like it, and I got the flauta's, complete with a plastic tube of sour cream, sigh. I had one very bland flauta but dipped it in the spicy but flavorless salsa. The flauta was miles above the nachos though, so I was able to stomach it. As we were leaving the place just got packed, huge tables being put together for the crowds. I still don't understand. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but I won't be going back to try again. My husband And I have gone to this place for almost 2 years always knew the manager was very brash and really lousy at customer service but wow did he hit an all time low. We placed an order to go and wow we we ever ripped off the order was a #9 a child's plate and 2 hamburgers total of 26$ plus change got the order home both hamburgers were so burnt they were so gross then my granddaughter began to eat her puffy taco it was not even cooked I looked at my meal my taco was not cooked either so I thought I would just call and have the order replaced and omg the owner/manager treated me as though it was my fault that he served way below average food that had we even attempted to eat it we all would have been sick. I was told in a very loud tone of voice don't ever come back that he did not need our business and he would take the money out of his pocket but what ever we did don't ever come back to his business if they r treating us this way how many others out there are being just as disrespected this saddens me I will tell all my family and friends to NEVER frequent this place so sad what ever happened to customer service well this place has NONE if u don't mind being treated like garbage go there cuz that's the best u r ever going to get. This place was horrible, I took my Daughters there this past Sat. My oldest ordered the puffy taco plate. The shells were flat as a pancake, there was no " puff " to it. So much grease was on the plate that she ended up leaving everything on her plate. My youngest ordered the chicken nugget kids meal, the fries looked like someone took a match to the outside. They were the color of a brown crayon on the outside, and the inside was disgustingly raw. All food was left on our plates hoping that the waiter or the owner would have asked why we did not eat, nope ! It's like no one cared, or paid attention. When we went to pay, I thought for sure the person behind the register would have asked " how was everything " ? That surely did not happen, didn't even get eye contact, they just took our ticket from us and gave us our total. Great surprise, wonderful "hole in the wall" Mexican! We were driving by early Sunday morning and saw three Sheriff's vehicles parked outside and thought "How could three cops be wrong at 0700 on a Sunday..." We have been enjoying their breakfast tacos; most everyone in my family gets potato, egg, and cheese. The taquitos are flavorful, good sized, with lots of melted cheese. I had #1 and portion size was good but overall everything was made with cheap ingredients and it all tasted bland and the same, a la Taco Bell. Oh and if you're white and want to practice your español they'll literally laugh in your face despite the fact I've more than likely spent more time in México than her, but oh well.
