This is an update to my review 3/21/2023. After they read my 2 star review, an account rep called me immediately and helped schedule someone to come repair on 3/28 (yesterday), a full two-weeks from when I called initially. She said she'll email me, too, but I never got an email from her. Another broken promise. Yesterday, the tech, who was nice enough, arrived more than an hour early, which in my case was not great. I told him that I had a work call that I had to take so I wouldn't be able to talk to him afterwards. He assured me that I would get an email with a full report. He checked the attic and went up to the roof. I assumed the roof was fixed. Guess what? No report from Semper Solaris as of this morning. And it started raining today and my roof is still leaking - I can hear the dripping in the bucket I left in the attic. Seriously wtf. read more

Communication with this company has been terrible. Once they get past you signing all the Docs-sign documents, communication stops. I can still get the sales person to call me back, but he has not been able to get me in touch with a project person for my project. I have had calls from two different "Coordinators" that could not tell me the schedule. I have the existing panels to remove, existing roof to be removed, standoffs that will hold the new panels must be installed before the new roof goes on, then installation of the new system and battery. Didn't use Semper for the roof (outrageous price) which is the need for the coordination. Panels are supposed to come off tomorrow, I think, we will see. I can fix this review If the install goes correctly, otherwise more 1 stars to follow. read more

We met with Mark Ivory about back up batteries. He was awesome.. he took the time to answer all of our questions and concerns. He explained our options and helped us make the right decision. He was there when we had more questions and answered calls not just texts. He was not pushy or hard selling which we liked and he stayed to guide us without looking at his watch. We we're in need of replacing our home and detached garage roofs. So I had my work cut out for me. I did a bunch or research and had a few companies come out and give us quotes. Semper Solaris being one of them. I really liked that they use Owen's corning and have a great warranty. Plus they are Vetran owned and ran. They had a sales representative call us. Dave was the one that reached out. We talked with him and he said he could do an an estimate and get back to us. We waited quite awhile for him to get back. At 1st I thought he was a flake and just forgot about us but he had a family emergency. So we let this slide as we all have had this happen. We finally got our 1st estimate. It seemed to good to be true. It was because he forgot to put in the wood cost. I was upset at first but it is what it is. So we got the 2nd estimate and it was a lot more do to the price of wood. The estimate was for tare off of 2 layers but because they didn't come out to check there was actually 3 layers. Dave was very understanding when I was upset about this because it was going to be extra. He was able to get them to waive the additional fees. (Very thankful for that) If you are going to get an estimate get it in person. I don't recommend as they did for us an Ariel view of our property. Because it didn't give them a proper view of everything. Our contact was written that they didn't have to remove our A/C unit with a crane. We made sure that they didn't have to. They reassured me numerous times that it could be done. Then right before they were suppose to start. They reach out and say nope can't start until we get a crane. I was so upset as I had been in contact with Dave for months getting everything ready for our start date. So this delayed our project as in our contract it clearly states that they don't need a crane. We even thought maybe we should just get a new A/C unit with them and the crane cost would factor in that cost. Had the A/C guys come out but they just saw more $$$$$$. They acted like we needed new everything. So we ditched that idea. Finally I had to tell Dave it's not our fault they promised and had it in writing that they could do this job without a crane. It delayed us more because I told him I'm already giving them all my savings for this reroof. He was very apologetic but we all know what sorry does. (A whole lot of nothing) We ended up reaching out to him telling him the job needed to start. So we are willing to pay half of the cost for the crane and that this is more than fair. He finally got back and said they would split the cost. Then they also said that they needed to make us a custom piece that holds the A/C which of course was an extra cost. Ended up being over 30,000 for the whole job. Our project was finally back on track. So the day of the project some other company shows up called West Coast roofing. I was like WTF it's suppose to be Semper Solaris. I call up Dave and he said we use subcontractors. So these guys tell us they do pretty much all of Semper Solaris's re-roofing projects. So if your thinking you are helping Veterans and that they will be doing the job at your home. You'd be wrong!!! No Veterans working on the re-roofing. The only Veterans we had on our project wad the A/C guys. So don't let them fool you with that Veterans crap. Now, the West Coast roofing guys were pretty much hard working. This project had some hiccups. They destroyed all my plants in the front with no regard. Also one of their guys had his foot go all the way through our sons room celing. It made a horrible mess and the project manager Miguel was a total flake. He was never on the job unless there was a problem that I called or texted him about. Then after they finished the job. Our garage and roof looks really good except for some shingles around our chimney. They left a few shingles around it not finished correctly. Because the last day it's like they didn't really put in quality work. As I could clearly see the mistakes. I called Miguel right away and he was no help. I literally had to hound him for months to come back and fix it. He came back and did a worse job! So there are a few shingles around the chimney that looks awful. He's definitely a flake and always had excuses for everything. I finally had it and complained to Dave. Dave asked me to wait a few months to see if the shingles lay flat. Unfortunately they still look like like a 5 year old layed them. So I will be contacting Dave about this again and hopefully he will have them fi it or refund me some $$$$ as we paid over 30,000. So it should have been done absolutely perfect but it's not. So I will keep you posted. read more

They screwed up my roof when they put the panels on. Came out to see if it was their fault that I had leaking They determined it was TGEIR FAULT and tried to fix it since it does NOT rain OFTEN in California I can't know if it is fixed until it rains. Next rain; LEAK IN SAME PLACE. This time they came out and removed the panels and "fixed" it. Next time it rained.. AGAIN SAME LEAK IN MY KITCHEN SAME SPOT. Now THEY DONT RETURN MY CALLS. I own the solar system that Semper Solaris installed. I bought the current home I'm living in back in 2021. The previous owners leased the system and I paid it off in full once we moved in because leasing anything (especially solar) is an absolute rip-off. Fast forward to 2023 and I'm moving onto new and greater adventures and am currently in escrow to sell my house. Unfortunately, Semper Solaris truly couldn't care less about customer service. I've had to call and request the warranty information 4 different times. Sending emails, asking to speak to a manager, none of that will help. They will just tell you "our service department is on it" and chuckle a little bit and then hang up the phone. All I need is a copy of the warranty. That's it. I don't need blueprints, or plans or records or permits or blah blah. Just a copy of the warranty so I can pass it on to the new buyers lender. That's it. Simple. Buyer beware, I assure you their "service department" is definitely not on it. I'm sure when they were getting the previous owner to sign on the dotted line, there were zero issues. But all I can do is speak about the horrible customer service I'm getting......or not getting in this case. I'll update my review when/if I ever get a copy of it. read more

BUYERS BEWARE!!!! This "Company" took nearly one full year to install my system. They were hired December 2022 and it's now Nov 15, 2023 and I still do not have a working Solar system. Beyond that they've taken "final payments" without my system up and running. Their communicate is awful at best, including the failure to notify me that we passed "final inspection". I have no access to my system and it's not producing ANY electricity for me yet they've taken via ACH every single penny from my $70k Solar job except a paltry $250 final fee. Their failure to communicate final inspection passing to me, or providing any proof of that didn't stop them from ACH debiting my bank account causing it to be overdrawn because my money is in an interest bearing account waiting to be transferred into the checking account. Run far far away from this company. You've been warned. read more

There was roof leaking after installing solar panel. After I reported the incident, Janice called within days and set up a repair appointment the next day. Brian came twice to work on the roof and made sure no more leakage seen during water test. Austin came later to repair the ceiling that was damaged by leaking rain water inside the house. I second the review by Eugene. Our experience with semper has been at best negligent. Semper is also one of the more expensive options despite providing the same panels everyone else does. they say its because they have a great warranty, but if you don't trust the company, the warranty isn't useful. In addition to failing to notify us about sending unannounced men to our house when my wife was home alone, failing to alert us about changes that needed to be made even after their inspection (Which caused months of delays), poor communication, broken promises, failed follow up, we placed a negative review. they then asked us to take it down. i assume were not the only ones they asked to take down the negative review. we asked them about installing a battery because if another company does it, it voids the workmanship warranty. they declined to offer any more services because we didn't take down our negative review. theres a lot of solar companies. skip semper and choose one with integrity. read more

Semper Solaris installed our solar panels 11 years ago, unfortunately our inverter stopped working so I called Semper Solaris Customer Service to inform them that something was wrong which was identified by a huge dollar increase from SDGE, after several calls to Semper Solaris and weeks for them to confirm that they installed our solar panel's and for them to see what type of inverter we had which was a Solar Edge inverter and under warranty I finally received a call from customer support informing me the the inverter replacement was approved and that Semper Solaris was waiting for the inverter to arrive. PRO'S -customer service was great once I was identified as a customer, the technician that came to install the new inverter was great, generating power once again was great. CON'S - They could not find information that we had Semper Solaris install our solar asking if I was sure that Semper Solaris was the company, I had to send a picture of our inverter to customer service because if it was one of the inverters they use to install was out of business and if wasn't a Solar Edge inverter I would have to pay for the inverter, it took almost two month's in the middle of summer to complete, it cost me $800 for the technician to install the inverter which took approximately two hours, veteran owned?? I'm not sure. Overall, I am happy with the work Semper Solaris did! Thank you MAGA! I had a full HVAC system installed. Overall, great experience. The salesperson went a bit overboard with the original bid, but came back out of orbit and I got a good quote. The entire process took a little over three days. I think the supervisors name was Julio, regardless, he did great job and kept us apprised of the process. Neat and clean, no issues. Final inspection by the city was a piece of cake. read more

Semper Solaris is a company that you can TRUST. What they say their going to do is one thing. The other thing they do is go out of their way to go above and beyond. The work performed was completed in half the time they said it would take. The roofing supervisor Mike Le went out of his way to come to my home and help move my dryer climb onto the roof and take apart the dryer vent and help clean 28 years of built-up lint. (I know what a stupid idea putting the vent on the roof). No longer is the dryer warning me to clean the vent. They are even giving me extra time to get the painting done before they put up the new gutters. I can't believe that there are still companies that believe that customer service is the second only to doing top-notch, A+ work that they can walk away knowing that they could not have done a better job if they tried. They really stand behind their motto, "Semper Fidelis." Always Faithful. In the Marine Corps, this means Always Faithful to the ideals of the Marine Corps and the country. For Semper Solaris, it means being faithful to your crew and your customer's needs. They have two tasks left to complete, clean the solar panels (next week) and put the gutters up after I paint. Mark Ivory was our rep and he did an excellent job getting us processed before the NEM 2.0 expired and was able to have our system installed two weeks before they anticipated. That never happens! I know from a friend's brother-in-law who is in the solar industry that we got the right quote with the right equipment at an excellent price for our 3 bedroom 3 bath home. Even my HVAC guy/plumber said we got a very good price and system. I also like that the company does roofing as we have a relatively new roof and certainly didn't want that damaged. We passed inspection first try and were fully operational soon after. I do think semper solaris could improve on their post-install customer service follow-up ( I had a few questions), but that is minor compared to the other parts of our project. I like that the company is veteran owned. My friends that referred us are also quite happy with the company. read more

WARNING! Do not go with Semper Solaris! Their service is beyond deplorable, 0 stars. If you ever need help with your system (because at some point you will need help), you won't be able to get in contact with anyone that knows anything. You have to call a general line which takes you to someone to intake the request. Then they say that it will be 7-10 business days before anyone calls you back. After 10 days and no one calls you back, you call back and ask for an update. The person takes your request again and says it'll be another 7-10 business days. It has literally been 5 months since my issue and it still hasn't been resolved. I typically support businesses like this, but the service and quality of support should prevent anyone from proceeding with this company. There are many more solar alternatives that might be better for you. I just wanted to share my experience to protect from this pain. read more

These people are beyond unethical! They sell you on the idea that they care about veterans, you know people that are on a very fixed Income . Get you to sign the papers.. biggest mistake of your life.. they don't actually have a caring bone in their body. I want to apologize as this review is well overdue. I had asked a co-worker if he could provide a recommendation on getting Solar. I told him that I didn't want to have an experience in the past with a solar company that I met at fair. You know the used car salesman pitches, that well in the end when I said no, they would come back with a lower price. I wanted someone to honestly tell me the pros and cons the ins and outs of what I was getting myself into. He put me in touch with Rhami of at Semper Solaris Solar who provided us with a great deal of information. I remember him saying if I wanted to , contact a couple of more companies to compare. Well we went with Semper Solaris, and Rhami was our point of contact throughout the whole process. He said if we had any questions at all we could reach out and ask, and we did a couple of time. Rhami didn't make us feel like another number, he made it very personable which my wife and I liked. The process went very smooth from the initial sit down, contract signing, all the way through the install. There were other steps along the way like verifying the layout of the panels. During this time, I had asked if they could run the conduit internally through the garage, as I have seen some installation with conduit running down the side of the house and up and over roof. I know most are done like that. So they planned for the conduit to run internally with minimal conduit showing. I am very happy that I had asked. When our install date came around four installers came by, they showed up early to appraise the job ahead of them. I spoke with them about various things about the Solar install. The crew Andres, Javi, Danny, and Luis were very respectful, telling me what the needed to do. Provided us with a plan when they would need to be inside basically all aspects of the install. When I discussed with Andres about the internal conduit run he wasn't sure that they could make it work with our house. I showed him a neighbors, house that had done it similar and he worked on a plan of attack. The Install team of Semper Solaris did an outstanding job installing and minimizing the what we could see from the outside. Even the run inside the garage was minimal, they removed some pegboard and went in and straight up inside the garage attic. Overall from day one meeting Rhami to the crew Andres, Javi, Danny, and Luis installing our system couldn't have been smoother. Updating my review. For that last few months I have been working with customer service to resolve some pending issues. There were two mainly. 1. I have a solar attic fan that has been in place prior to engaging Semper. It was never reconnected in a working fashion and actually was shorting until I climbed in my attic to connect the wires properly. Semper sent out a few people with the first two having no idea about electricity and could do nothing more than smile. By the time a third electrical person has showed up, I had already re-wired the fan. I did provide this person with a new wire connector to install and he did. Months of back and forth phone calls, texts, promises and finally resolved (mostly by me). 2. A new electrical Panel was installed which had a new pipe going through the roof to connect to city power. On this pipe is a fiber optic cable (either connected by the electricians or roofing team). The fiber optic cable is from AT&T for internet and was secured to the new pipe with a single plastic zip tie (which I increased to three until resolved). I called and texted with someone again for months and Semper claims this is not their responsibility and would have never put that wire on the pole. I wonder what AT&T or city utility would say if this wire ends up in the streed? Semper has washed their hands with the matter. I am attaching a picture for reference. Would I use Semper or recommend them, quite the opposite this point. I really hoped I had found a reputable contractor to work with on home projects, unfortunately not the case. read more
