It's hard to go vegetarian for Vietnamese cuisine, let alone vegan, so it's wonderful to have Sen Saigon plant-based renditions of dishes. Still in soft opening so limited menu. Nice to finally get to eat bun hue since there no meat but broth is still flavoring and full of umami. Close it's the their flan. Setting is casual and staff is kind. read more

Amazing, authentic (you can tell by the herbs) vegan Viet food that offers the classics but also lesser known Viet dishes, including the best vegan bún huê' I've found in NYC outside of chùa (Buddhist temple)! The phở broth was also the perfect side to the bánh mì (which had all the right fillings including patê!!!) as a lunch special. Location is cute and good for casual dine in, service was fast and friendly, and I'm excited to go back and try the rest of the menu! read more

Broad selection of vegan Vietnamese classics. Cute, clean decor with seating for (very approximately) a dozen. I went specifically to try the tofu banh mi, which was deeply savory, especially with the spicy sauce. It would be nice to be able to get water in a reusable glass instead of bottles - even if it still cost money, I would just feel better about it, and I assume the average clientele of a vegan restaurant are similarly plastic-conscious. read more

Wow! A truly authentic Vietnamese meal! We had the Bun bo hue; incredible flavors and textures. Reminded me of the meals I had in Vietnam. We also had the lemongrass banh mi and it was the best one we've had in NYC! Would highly recommend Sen Saigon to vegans and non vegans alike :) The founders, Aang and Eric, are a very sweet couple and are very hospitable + welcoming. We ordered the lemongrass and tofu Banh-Mi, which was amazing , slightly zesty and spicy, with a perfectly toasted bread. We also got the Sen Pho , the broth was delicious, very deep in flavour and aromatic . The portion size was filling, which did not leave me bloated yet I was pretty full and satisfied. The staff were really friendly , sweet and accommodating. We wanted the pho to be spicy so the recommended getting sriracha on side which definitely did work . Ambiance is really cute and pretty . Sen Saigon, plant based vietnamese, finally opened their first permanent location after testing at pop up events throughout NYC & the food, service, and ambiance is amazing. Their small but delicious menu is so flavorful and true to authentic vietnamese recipes. They even source their peppers straight from Vietnam & have decor made from Vietnam as well! The owners have such a passion for their restaurant and are so proud to give new york city an authentic vegan vietnamese restaurant! My absolute favorites were the bahn mi and flan! read more

I ordered takeout for a banh mi, pho and bun (rice vermicelli) with spring rolls. This is the best vegetarian Vietnamese food I've ever had. The owners did a great job with the recipes. I asked for spicy sauce on the side. I enjoyed their "pate" For the restaurant itself, there are tables inside to eat. The space probably seats 30 diners or so. I would consider renting this place for small private events! read more

Today I had the pleasure of eating Vietnamese Pho for the very first time in my life. I was never able to have it since I keep kosher and good luck finding Kosher Pho anywhere. I don't know what Pho tastes like with real meat, but I can only say that it was absolutely amazing. Full of flavor and I can't wait to go back to try the other items on the menu. read more

This restaurant has such an inviting environment and even better food. The menu is any vegan's dream- good quality Vietnamese food that has a ton of flavor (which is often times hard to come by). The staff was super nice and even took the time to tell us about Sen Saigon's origin story. It seems like they put a lot of effort into their food, they even import their pepper from Vietnam to achieve the perfect flavor- they're clearly not cutting any corners and are only sourcing the best ingredient. I was there about 2 hours before closing and they were sold out of a few things, but that's something I would expect with a fairly new restaurant, so not a negative, but just a disclaimer that if you want something specific it might be better to go earlier in the day. read more

I wanted to try this new business and share my rating. I heard about this new Vietnamese vegetarian restaurant in Chinatown and was so happy to know that I could enjoy Vietnamese food without worrying about it being vegan. The place is small, just a few tables, and everything is made to order. I took out the tofu banh mi sandwich, corn spring rolls, and pho. Everything was well packed with good portions. The food was delicious. I hope they will expend the menu and start to deliver. read more
