I walked into this restaurant to try out the Pho here, and walked out of the place satisfied with my meal. The Pho noodle soup here is cheaper than I thought it would be! Most places I've seen have Pho that costs around 16 dollars or more, but this place sells it at 2-3 dollars less. I ordered the Pho Dac Biet for 13.95. It's a big bowl with the soup, rice noodle, brisket, medium-cooked eyeround, and tendons. You also get the usual bean sprouts, leaves and peppers on the side to go with the soup. For the price, I'm both surprised and happy for the amount I got. Taste was great! Noodles weren't soggy, and there was plenty of meat in the bowl with veggies to accompany it. I decided on a Pho, Vietnamese traditional noddle soup. Customer service is poor as I was not greeted and the female maître d' depicted a scowl face during my entire time. I requested to keep my sales receipt which was like pulling teeth with a male server who at first refused. I usually keep the restaurant bill as a keepsake which also enables me to write my reviews. Nota Bene: Sometimes restaurant bill indicate the WiFi password or restroom facility access code and gratuity percentage intervals. It also serves as proof and authority in support of my direct first hand experience. The restaurant bill for Nha Trang One does contain gratuity percentage intervals of 15%, 18% and 20% where customers do not have to perform math calculation. Business cards are available for grabs. The reverse side of the business card also serves as a map to locate the business. No comment for restroom facility as I did not utilize. It is dimly lit and seemingly appears very dated. Nha Trang One is in direct competition among three (3) Vietnamese restaurants on the same street. L2 Shrimp Phở Tôm Tươi $12.95 It contained fresh herbs. Fresh bean sprouts with lime and herbs as garnishes are provided. The rice noodles were very minimal. The broth is not heavy or thick with visible oil bubbles displayed on the surface. There was very minimal shrimp embedded. Ingredients contain onion, carrots, broccoli, scallion. I despise broccoli as it is certainly not a desirable vegetable. Oh! It was served piping hot in a large ceramic white bowl. Pho consisting of broth, rice noodles, herbs, and meat. Overall, my Pho was good, but absolutely not stellar. Nevertheless, without pre-existing condition and without judgment I did give Nha Trang One the old college try for a patronized visit, but it absolutely does not captivate my interest which my high preference for my predilection is Chinese hand pulled noodle soup Lamian or Japanese Ramen. That block on Baxter has a lot of Vietnamese restaurants and I believe this is by far the best when it comes to their pho bowls. Their largest pho bowl, Pho Dac Biet is only at $13.95! I cannot believe that's the price of the largest pho when we are in 2026! I immediately purchased that bowl. The other bowls did not have enough meat ingredients as this one and were around $11.95, the cheapest pho bowl. The largest bowl had beef brisket, eyeround, and tendon. After tax, it came out to be around $15.19 using my credit card. I got the bowl to go so it there were 2 containers that were reusable. It was a lot of noodles they gave out. The noodles were very thin, silky smooth, and flat. They were very nice to eat along with the soup. The soup was very good and not salty so I could drink the whole bowl. The bowl had a lot of brisket and tendons. The tendons were so chewy and gooey. I kind of mistaken some of them as fat but once you put them in your mouth then you know they're definitely tendons, which my mom said they were healthy for you. I ate them all! They gave a lot of noodles and soup that I could not fit the whole bucket of soup into my rice noodle bowl. I had extra soup left over afterwards. The rice noodle bowl was very filling in this place and very fresh. It made me full and I did not complain about needing anymore food afterwards until dinner. The place is super packed during lunch times and has a lot of employees from nearby office buildings eating there. The good: Interior is nice and clean, doesn't feel cramped like a lot of other NYC restaurants. Service is super fast with our food coming out within minutes. Bring cash as there's a credit card charge. Prices are reasonable and they don't chase you / rush you out which is nice. The bad: my beef cube dish was incredibly oily yet only mediocre tasting. I'm talking pools of oil, I wish I was able to get a picture. It was also salty but again very much lacking in flavor compared to other places. There was a bag of condiments on the side with bean sprouts, jalapeño, lime, hoisin sauce, and hot sauce. There was a lot of meat and some tendon, no beef tripe though. I think the soup noodle wasn't anything spectacular. It was quite average and the sliced meat was dry. Only some slices were tender. The pho came in a really small bowl, the smallest I'd ever seen, and the broth was chicken based. It was decent but the small bowl kind of threw me off and the portion was smaller than typical. When we went there, we were able to talk with Andy, the owner, and he told us about his family and his backstory of the restaurant. I walked in on Sunday afternoon. I've been meaning to try more Vietnamese restaurants in Chinatown. I've been craving bun thit nuong and that's exactly what I ordered here! Came here for lunch on a weekday with colleagues and left stuffed! This place is delicious. A few of us split the cha gio (spring rolls), which came freshly fried and were really tasty, and I also got the bo bun hue, which is usually a limited dinner special, but they made an exception for us. The bo bun hue is humongous, well flavored, and full of meats, including an entire pig trotter. It's probably a bit oversized for a lunch portion, which was fine by me, since I arrived hungry. The broth is also the right level of spicy and the noodles were a good texture. The service was attentive and quick, and though the restaurant was busy at lunch, we didn't have any trouble finding a table. Pho sounded really good as it was really cold outside and we had been walking for hours. We found this spot thanks to social media and walked right in. There was no line so we luckily got seated right away. There were a few tables occupied and one big party that was already eating. We were given menus as we sat down and we were given a few minutes to look it over. As wonderful as the food scene in NYC is, I've had a hard time finding a solid place for Vietnamese food. We started with pork spring rolls to share for the table. The pork itself was great, but the rice paper was tough so probably wasn't cooked all the way. We also got a plate of fried shrimp to share for the table, which was really tasty! This place is excellent if you are looking for good Vietnamese food. Prices are somewhat reasonable, although the quantities are smaller compared to most Vietnamese restaurants. They have great spring rolls, excellent of all varieties, and they even have good fried rice. They get four stars only for billing reasons. First, they do charge 3% extra on credit cards. But the bigger issues that they calculate tip for you on top of the tax amount. This is definitely a shady business practice as tip should only be calculated on the subtotal and not inclusive with the tax. Service is fine, however, they are not quick to refill water or bring extra utensil/napkins. You have to chase them down to get that. The atmosphere is good. Pretty large restaurant for the location, and they are able to accommodate bigger groups up to 8 people. Overall, I would definitely return again, but make sure you calculate your tip on your own and not use the pre-calculated amount they provide. read more

Tiny little spot that peaked our interest walking by. Upon arrival the four of us waited to be seated. We were greeted by a man, but soon after a young lady with a huffy attitude came by and seemed as if she didn't have time for us. She was rude and not very patient. She spoke over me while I tried to ask questions and order because I was trying to order for all us- We ordered several items and she soon warmed up a little bit but really I wanted to leave because she just seemed annoyed at our presence- The food was really delicious- I didn't manage to get many pics, but the beef and chicken entrees we ordered were tip top! We did order a seafood soup and it was sweet and we did not enjoy it. I also wanted us to try to the steamed fish-it was $22 but not as savory as I imagined- it also had a sweet taste. The egg rolls were hit and fantastic, we were all popping those into our mouth. We did ask for rice and for all those entrees we were only given a small bowl- hmm that was a little swindle. I also wanted to try the shrimp fried rice- it was ok, it didn't have incredible flavor but it did have plenty of shrimp- Reasonable prices and pretty good flavor. The waitress was a huge turn off- she was not very kind but others were nice and checked in on us multiple times. Overall good meal, that beef and chicken dish were amazing.
