Lets talk about this shop--cuz wow…read more First off the staff, kind, efficient and helpful (kind that makes you feel welcomed and not rushed). Mellow, thoughtful vibes. The items? Literally things I didn't need...until I saw them. Notebooks, pens, rulers, keychains, clipboards, planners, stationery, and every kind of writing tool that was not on the list, yet clearly destined to come home with me. CONFESSION: I'm that friend who gets emotionally attached to pens . I'll walk into a stationery store "to browse" and leave with two FULL bags of pens, paper, and things I didn't know I needed five minutes ago. I own multiples of the same items (pens, pencils, notebooks, and paper accessories) and feel zero shame. Seriously they're kinda like tools for clarity! The shop isn't huge, but I could easily spend three hours there. They even make custom products, which feels sorta dangerous for someone like me. I don't know what else to say except: just go. Buy your supplies here. Write someone a letter. Treat yourself. Cinco stars.

The neighboring space is called Hightide Annex which focuses on apparel goods. Recently Hightide Store New York City was opened in December 2025. [Parking]: Free 2-hour parking at the parking structure for ROW DTLA. [What to expect]: A classic Japanese stationery shop with notebooks, specialty pens, planners, bags, etc. They carry brands like Hobonichi and Penco. [Conclusion]: A cute stationery shop for those looking for well-known and high-quality Japanese stationery products, but the shop felt like it was missing an extra personal and local touch.

When I travel, I can't resist popping into a new book store to see if they have anything…read moreinteresting. I can tell you that KinoKuniya is checked the "interesting" box. This store is all things Anime - Manga and more. It also puzzles, stationary, small character related collectibles, and a fairly extensive pen/fountain pen collection. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. Pricing was reasonable for DTLA. I would definitely visit this store again.

Take a look, it's in a Kinokuniya Bookstore and this is one you definitely want to explore…read more Located at The Bloc in Downtown LA, Kinokuniya Bookstore - DTLA has an extensive collection of books, manga, magazines, posters, art, art supplies, novelty items, stationary, gifts, collectibles and more. Since its birth in Tokyo, Japan, during the age of the roaring 1920s to its overseas reach in the late 1960s - Kinokuniya has been gracing the world with emporiums of knowledge w/ some flare. I hadn't been to the Bloc in a minute, but making more of an effort to explore the city I was born in and our Downtown area, especially at social hubs like The Bloc. And I love some novelty items, art and tools for/of reading, even more so when it's very affordable. The Studio Ghibli is pretty nice as are various sections for music, history, spiritual and comic related things. Literally was whelmed with great finds, but decided to make my first trip (of many) in a leisure one to get familiar with the store. Great stationary. Great service and just great overall. Some of the isles can feel a little congested when there's an influx of foot traffic, put are still easy to navigate through as well as around. Kinokuniya has events, contests and updates on their website for their various locations. They also offer magazine subscriptions you can pick up in person. More incentive to stop inside for all the in-person bliss this book space has to offer. Open from 11AM to 8PM, seven days a week.

The word wow comes to mind!!!!…read more I would encourage anyone to at least go inside this store and ask a few questions. You will be pleasantly surprised by all that you can learn in such a short time. If you're passionate about ink, calligraphy, anything that has to do with writing, specialized, stationary, cards made by local artists may be even by one of the employees for a variety of occasions. This is the place to come. My description is only a brief list of the Services and products that they offer. Fernanda it's not only knowledgeable, but definitely the pen expert in the building. She kindly and patiently explained to me the differences between length, width, color and materials when it comes to penmanship. I had the pleasure of also utilizing their gift wrapping services, which is also something I highly recommend. They have some wonderful choices in the store, but you can also bring your own, which I definitely did. I love how all the prices are clearly labeled for every item even the smallest of attachments. This let someone immediately know the value of an item and what is required to obtain the goals for a project that someone is pursuing.
