I absolutely love this hidden gem! It's not open very late, so you have to catch it for a an early lunch. I appreciate their low cost beef tacos on flour tortillas. The food is amazing however, the stars is based off customer service. The young man working the counter is extremely rude. I have worked in the food industry and I am consistently baffled that he is still working the front and being the forefront of this company. Used to pick up breakfast burritos from here often, until we moved out of the neighborhood. Nice option if you like Santiago's breakfast burritos. We were told that the owner had ties to Santiago's, hence the similarity, and I will say they do the job at satisfying that craving. Breakfast burritos are hand held and the meat changes by the day (they have a sign posted with the schedule). 3 levels of heat, just like Santiago's -- mild, 1/2 and 1/2, and hot. I've only experienced hot, and while they're warm, they're not unbearably hot where it has no flavor. At $3 per burrito, you can't go wrong. My huband goes often when I'm at work and has never had a complaint. The place is small, but their primary business is carry out so it is the right size for them. I'd been driving passed this place for months and was a little hesitant to try it after reading the overwhelming amount of distasteful reviews and poor responses from management. But I decided to try this place out and set the record straight. I stopped in on a Friday afternoon for lunch with a gal pal from work. We were immediately greeted and seated which was nice. The atmosphere was clean from what I could tell. I ordered the Tacos de Asada but later I was informed that they were out of carne asada from the breakfast burrito rush earlier that morning, so I settled with the Tacos de Carnitas (I love carnitas). My friend had the enchilada dinner plate. We didn't wait too long before our food was brought to us. While we were waiting I noticed one of the employees in the back eating french fries with her ungloved hands, I hope that she wasn't assisting in the preparation of our food... When our food came the portion sizes were good, the enchiladas looked extra tasty. My tacos had a very underwhelming presentation but I liked that they put cheese in between the tortillas. The carnitas was a little bland but we had some left over salsa from the complimentary chips and salsa so that sufficed and provided some good flavor. The beans seemed like they were straight from the can, which is fine at home but not what I expected at a restaurant. Finally, the rice had a lot of clumps like it wasn't super fresh. All in all, the service was fine, the prices were good, the food wasn't bad but it wasn't the best food I've ever had either. I have been coming to Senor Miguel's since I was about 15 years old. The food has always been amazing the father of the company was always welcoming and I'm sure he still is but today my heart and mouth were disgusted. Every Thursday I Go and get a burrito and sometimes I splurge and go on a Friday.. I've told many family members about this lovely establishment until today. I bit into my burrito and the potatoes were not fully cooked... seems like when the son is there the potatoes aren't cooked fully but I can manage most of the time because they are still good but today I bit in and they were hard and to top it off there was a strand of black hair sticking out... I thought maybe it was a strand of my hair but when I pulled it out it was definitely a black dogs hair. I am disgusted to say the least. I won't be back. This is my favorite Mexican food restaurant in Aurora. The owner is a great guy that means well and I am always treated with respect every time I go in. I live about a half an hour away from Senor Miguels, but when I want some authentic Mexican food - I make the drive (yes, I may speed sometime... don't judge me!) Their green chili is outstanding and yes, I can handle the hot! When I say hot, I mean it is hot and packed with flavor! It was great to see they fixed up this mini mall, hopefully it can drive a little more business to Senor Miguels, cause they truly deserve it.
