The food was decent, however the service from the Asian waitress was horrible. She brought us a small basket of chips and 1 tiny cup of salsa for our table. When we asked for a refill of chips, salsa and drinks she acted annoyed and put out to have to bring refills. My nephew ordered the asada tacos which in most places do not come with cheese nor did their menu state it had cheese. The menu description was simply that they came with onions. He asked for a different plate with no cheese as he is allergic. The waitress yelled at us and then took the plate back to the kitchen where we could hear her yelling, pitching a fit and talking terrible about us. I'm not sure why the waitress was so incredibly rude to us, but as an out of town visitor...I'm thankful I will never have to be subjected to this attitude. This place is close to home and I love Mexican food! I finally decided to try it out after driving by for a few months, what a mistake. This place is a joke. I came in on a Thursday, working that day was a cook, cashier, waitress and a gentleman who was having lunch with his family. Plenty of people. I waited 45 minutes for the worst tacos I've ever paid for and a mediocre pork chop meal with a side of green chili. It wasn't very busy when I placed my order but after a small rush of business workers came and had their order taken by the cook and got their meals well before mine came out, not fair. I was browsing some of my own Yelp reviews and noticed I've been visiting Senor Miguel's for 10 years! Wow! I like this place, obviously I stick to the enchiladas, tacos and the occasional breakfast burrito. I order a pint of salsa with every meal I get here. I like their salsa and it's nice to have some to snack on for an afternoon or a couple of days. The last few times I've stopped by, there's been a new gal working here. Medium height, lighter brown hair, glasses, struts around like she's queen of the world... Yeah, she is kind of rude. Last time I walked in and she was there I cringed. She seems to take pleasure in pointing out that I am so very wrong to even be asking for salsa before lunch because they don't have any made. After 10 years of eating here, I think I've only walked away with no salsa maybe twice. Girl, you've got to treat your customers better! The owner, at least I think he's the owner, is super nice, always a pleasure to see him and chit chat with him. I'll keep coming back. I like supporting the local business. I just hope Miss Attitude either stops being rude or isn't there next time I stop by. read more

This is the only place I've found since moving here from New Mexico that has "authentic" New Mexico green chile; but fair warning: when they say hot, they mean HOT. But it's flavorful and delicious. If you're not sure if you can take the heat, ask for a sample or order the chile cheese fries. The rest of their fair is pretty standard New Mexican food, and I enjoyed it. I had heard rumors from multiple co workers of the awesome breakfast burritos at Senor Miguels and finally got around to checking them out. Went in around 9am on a weekday, just a couple other people in there so we didn't need to worry about lines. Ordered 2 burritos, $2.50 a piece! Not bad but these aren't regular sized burritos, they're smaller but so what? They're so cheap, buy more if you want more! You can get mild, hot or half and half. Mild is perfect for me - I heard the hot is pretty killer! Veggie breakfast burrito had egg potato and sauce. So good. Kind of a weird experience in the store though. We ordered and they put our order in and started to make it. We stood there and waited, then they asked if we were waiting for something....we hadn't paid yet so yeah, we were waiting. Been going to Senor Miguel's since they were located on Alameda and Sable and never wrote a review until now. This place is awesome. The best breakfast burritos I have ever had. Our waitress was ok but the food was terrible. The chicken tacos were cold to the touch and the beef tacos had absolutely NO seasoning. We had a hair on our plate and was offered to remake the taco touching it. First and last time unfortunately. Casa Bonita has better food, no joke. read more

This place may not be big and finely decorated but they make up for it in taste. I have eaten Chili Rellanos in every state except West Virginia and these are the best. Add to that the awesome green chili poured over the top and you have a little slice of heaven. I grew up in Colorado and moved away a few years ago. Thankfully it's only 20 minutes from DIA! Had the chicken chimichangas. Ordered them extra hot. They delivered. The Green Chili sauce was delicious and it came out spicy. The flavor of the chimis was really incredible. Two lunches plus tip for $20 even. Nice sit down experience for the price of Chipotle. Wife had the chicken burrito supreme. She said it was average. Just being honest. Get the chimis. This is my all-time FAVORITE mexican restaurant. I go here at least 3 times a week for their breakfast burritos and once every couple weeks for lunch (love the Navajo taco). I love the hot chili, but if you're a wimp, you might stick with the 1/2 and 1/2! The service is great! You may not have liked my review, but it was a honest review not an angry one. Your response REALLY proves how unprofessional this place is and unwillingness to listen to a customer. The two concerns you failed to address in your response was that the burritos ARE NOT made to order they are heated under a heat lamp, and the attitudes of your cashiers can come off very rude and not welcoming. Well normally its pretty good service and good food, but from 10am-11am don't expect to get any service , don't expect to get to order, don't expect a drink or chips and salsa. Wait a minute why are you even open then?!!?!?!? Came into try the menu instead of the breakfast burritos, they lady behind the counter said " we dont serve any food till 11." My husband and I both lived in Texas for at least a decade, so we were used to getting really good mexican food fairly cheap. We've lived in Colorado now for 10 years but never really found a mexican place that compared - everything was more pricey and it usually looked like slop on a plate - we figured we could make better at home. I purchased a coupon on restaurant.com for Senor Miguel's, and when I showed the waitresses she smiled and said, "You're more than welcome to use that, but it's really hard for two people to spend that much here." She was right. Their chips and salsa are pretty good - the chips were crispy, salted right, and not greasy, and the salsa has bits of fresh onion and cilantro in it. Just be advised - the first basket and bowl are free, but afterwards it's around $2.50 for more. Not a big deal, and it keeps us from filling up on just chips and salsa, but I'm not sure if they offer more for larger tables or if you have to pay. I ordered the small combo plate, a bean tostada, bean burrito, beef taco, and cheese enchilada for $7.25, and my husband got the navajo taco. I wasn't crazy about the ground beef in the taco - it was plain for my taste - and the cheese enchilada wasn't runny, gooey cheese, but more like shredded cheese that was still firm on the inside, so I wasn't crazy about that, either, but the burrito and tostada were great. The navajo bread was more like a fried tortilla and was good, but a little different than if you get it made from scratch elsewhere. The second time we each got the chicken and bean burrito, $7 each, smothered with green chili, salsa, sour cream, lettuce, and cheese. These were awesome. We also got sopapillas - theirs are big (we received 2, each was about half a tortilla sized but thicker). They are covered with cinnamon and sugar, so you may ask for a lighter dusting if you don't want as much, but they were very good. Their green chili is AMAZING. I've never liked green chili before and my husband loves it but has never found anywhere in CO that he actually enjoys it. Be warned - the hot is super hot., and if you bring some home (like we did) the second day it's REALLY hot. The 1/2 and 1/2 is perfect - it's still hot (it makes my nose run a little - but the flavor is fantastic. If you only like a little hint of heat, I'd definitely go with mild. One more thing to note, their sign says they're closed on Sundays and close at 7:30pm every other night, so plan ahead. We will definitely be back. read more

This is my favorite Mexican food in Aurora. It is the ultimate comfort food. Portions are big, prices are low, and it's always a great experience with the family. We used to do take out from them at the old location and they were always so fast and friendly. Went to the new location today and it was absolutely wonderful. We've been eating here for years. I'm very picky about Mexican food, since I grew up with it. They are really sweet people. However, I do think since it is family owned they don't really have great customer service. It seems to be the norm with family-owned restaurants. I wish they didn't have all the pictures up, and the "homie" toys. This is an instance where less is more. The food, I can't complain. This is where I get my hot green chili and beans fix. This is not a healthy choice people. If you know real Mexican food, everything is fried in lard. My mom still cooks this way. Not healthy, but really good!! To me, their "hot" isn't like Chubby's where it is so hot you can't enjoy the food. I will continue to eat here . Although, I usually take it to go, because the service is frustrating. read more

Love this place, though you have to find what you like, THE BEST STUFFED sopippilas in town have tried them many other places and these are the best. Service can be slow and they are not the firendliest at times but will eat here again and again to have the stuffed sopipilla. There's something about eating in a family owned restaurant that I love. I think it has to do with being in "their house" and not just in the corporate hell place they work at or at the job they hate (although, just like being in some people's houses. You might be privy to a little too much info but that's also part of being "a familiar". Funny how close 'familiar" and the word "family" or "familia" are.). Mike and I have history. We worked together for a lot of years before he quit to manage one of his family's Santiago restaurants up north. After he took over that location, the restaurant prospered and was great. After he left that restaurant to start Senor Miguel's that location suffered from not having him at the helm. Mike's a good guy, hard worker, and a smart businessman and I'm glad to see that his restaurant is still doing well and that he continues to make good food and some badass chile. Now that I'm working in the area, you'll probably be seeing me in here pretty regularly. I have visited a few times now, usually for the breakfast burritos which are the only reason this place gets the two stars. They thrive themselves on being family owned and operated and to have the hottest green chile in town. It is obviously family owned as you will clearly see family photos on the walls and a home like feels to the decor, but according to another yelper the owner is related to the Santiagos family somehow if this is the case that could make this place the 'el chubbys' of santiagos. If you've ever had chubbys compares to el chubbys you know what I'm talking about. The green chile is pretty darn hot but its more of a tobasco type of hot where they focus more on heat than flavor which is sad because the beef buritto I had was well seasoned and had a lot of potential I just couldn't get past the taste of the chile. read more

Had lunch there a while back with several people who work in the surrounding area. Everybody agreed the chicken in the burritos was stringy and tough. I mentioned this nicely to who ended up being the owner when paying and he just chewed me one side and down the other and was very angry to the point it was a little scary. It was like the soup nazi on Seinfeld. My co-workers couldn't believe it. While it wasn't a complaint we made, the waitress was kind of a snot, but that again wasn't even mentioned to the owner.
