Amazing food! We got 2 barbacoa gorditas. The barbacoa was so fresh, juicy and delicious. We also got 6 tacos, 2 each of the carnitas, al pastor and asada. The meat was seasoned perfectly and the tortillas were fresh. We also got one queso con frijoles pupusa. Everything was so so good! The staff was very friendly. They also had a great selection of produce, meats, and canned goods. To whoever said that they only speak Spanish, we both tried our best to speak Spanish and they all tried their best to speak English. They were friendly and happy to serve us. This store has a few items that I can't find anywhere else so that's why I shopped there. It does has an unpleasant smell even though the aisles are clean and items are organized on the shelves. I only purchase items that are in packages or cans. The produce looked kind of sad and shriveled. The parking lot is very small. read more

Some of the best Mexican food I've ever had in Colorado!! I'm originally from the southern part of Texas so I know good Mexican food. I originally went there for some Pupusas and on my way out I ordered a chicharron and let me tell you they were so delicious!! The Pupusas were amazing and the chicharron was like crack it was so good. There was a good amount of meat to fat ratio and cooked to perfection! I'll definitely be back for more! read more

Wandered in accidentally, after visiting the adjacent taqueria. HUGE selection of Mexican Spices, delicacies, and a full butcher shop! We loaded up on spices, fresh donuts (they were AMAZING), hot chocolate, giant marshmallows, seasoned salt, candles, and sugar cane sugar. Happy Find! My son and I went to this business because of an ad that popped up on FaceBook. They offered Tacos Al Pastor (my favorite) on their menu. The food was OK, but the experience wasn't. There were at least a dozen people working there between the restaurant, meat counter, and grocery store, and not one of them would let on that they spoke a single word of English. I enjoy Mexican culture, food, and people in general (see my reviews of Taqueria Morelos, Tia Maria, Casa Mariachi, and Tacos Acapulco). I used to travel to Guadalajara often for work, and since that's not a touristy area of Mexico, the residents could be very rude and impatient if you didn't speak their language. Not all smiles like the resort town residents who want your money. I got the exact same vibe at this business. I speak very little Spanish, and I don't preach "fit in", or assimilate, or racism at all, but the workers at this Denver business made it very clear that we weren't welcome there. The waitress wouldn't even take our order until I said "CUATRO tacos Al Pastor", because when I said "four", she just stared blankly with a smirk. The more "accepted" customers glared at us the whole time like we were some spectacle invading their turf. Others of my same ethnicity got up and left. It was about at this time that I realized I had been in this store before. Our Mexican American friends had told us that they bought their horchata there. When I went in the first time and asked "Do you have horchata?", I was greeted by the same blank stare and silence. This time, when we went up front to pay, the gentleman wouldn't even charge us in English. He purposely let loose with a string of fast Spanish that I couldn't even begin to keep up with. His coworkers at the meat counter were laughing at us, pointing, and rolling their eyes. It made my son quite uneasy. It doesn't take much to be friendly, and put a positive, inviting, inclusive face on your business. I'll give my money to someone else. Don't even consider going to this blatantly racist place unless you speak fluent Spanish. It's clearly "theirs". read more

Love coming to this store to buy their fresh meat and other Latino products that they don't sell at King Soopers. I've also had their food and its good. Now I scrolled down and noticed some clown that left a bad review complaining that the workers dont speak English and over exaggerating her experience in a negative light. News flash lady it's a Latino market where 95% of the people who shop their speak Spanish. They didn't judge you for only speaking English and as a costumer of this place I know that no one would point their finger at you and laugh. Your lying. But why can't the Same rule of the language barrier not be applied to you. You should speak Spanish just how you think they should speak English. Its clear that you are a privileged women and should be ashamed of yourself. If the lady told you 4 in Spanish is because she doesn't know English and is trying to communicate with you the best way she can. People like you disgust me with your entitlement. If you're looking for authentic products for Mexican cooking, this is the place! This is not a new and modern place but it has everything that you would need for Mexican/ Latin cooking. This is definitely more of a Mom and Pop's business and the people that work there are very nice and helpful. If you ask about a product that they don't have they won't have a problem ordering it for you. The meat is fresh and they offer cuts of steak that I haven't seen offered in any supermarket in Denver. They have a limited amount of fruits and vegetables but what I did see was very reasonably priced and looked fresh. You should definitely give this place a try if you're into Mexican cooking and are looking for authentic Mexican ingredients. read more

Don't let appearances deceive you, there is some great stuff here. Ask at the meat counter for fresh masa (two kinds, either plain for tortillas or prepared for tamales) and fresh cheeses. The meat is fine, and the butcher is a really nice guy. The produce is a little hit or miss, but is always inexpensive (try whole foods next door if you didn't like what you were looking for). There is a great selection of dried chiles, spices and mexican dry goods. read more
