Vinny took my curly hair and made it look absolutely fabulous! The appointment itself was quick and easy. I was there on a busy Saturday, and everyone was friendly enough. I chatted a bit with the hairdresser and the person who did my shampoo. Both were very friendly. Realizing that it was going to be a solid 6 weeks until I could get another hair cut, I consulted the Yelps and they led me to Shine. Let me tell you how awesome this place is. Every facet of my experience with Shine was, in a word, perfection. From my phone call, begging for an appointment (which they took cheerfully and got me in to see Ariel right away) to my arrival at the salon, to the shampoo, to my cut, there wasn't a detail that was overlooked and not a moment that I wasn't made to feel special. First off, the space is just beautiful. Housed in a storefront in downtown Ossining, it's an open, airy place with lots of wood and exposed brick; gorgeous. I was given a bottle of spa water (which they make there) with watermelon and mint (delightful on a hot August day) that I could sip while I waited ... which wasn't more than about 45 seconds. Ariel greeted me and took lots of time talking to me about what I liked, what I didn't, taking note of my hair and how it grows, etc. I got shampooed (which included a super-relaxing scalp massage--OMGSONICE) and Ariel got started. She is a MASTER of precision and saw to things with the most exacting detail. My cut is FAN-TASTIC. I love it love it love it. There wasn't a single thing about my experience with Shine that I could make better.
