After decades with the same stylist, she referred me to Joe when she stopped cutting in November, 2020. I couldn't be happier. Joe is a very talented stylist and colorist. This place is amazing! Joe Tucci gave me incredible head of She by So.Cap cold bond extensions, turning my shorter lifeless hair into a much longer, fuller head. He is very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. His team put me at ease the entire time. They all have been great over there for all of my hair needs. I won't go anywhere else in New York. And I'm really picky. (seriously read my other reviews about places!) my hair is important to me, I have an autoimmune which means over time, it's thinned out, and I dye it constantly because, why not? I used to go to another upscale salon, and they had no idea what they were doing with vibrant colors (they would fade out in a few weeks). One time at senses, with color and style by Callie, and it was a whole new game! Not only did she take time to me and plan a whole look just for me, and not just a cookie cutter color, the color lasts for months! (vibrant, bright, beautiful!) my hair feels better and I get to keep the colors I love. They don't price gauge like other salons, and everyone is really nice. Really happy I discovered this gem of a place! I hadn't had my hair cut in 9 months because of Covid-19 and it was very long. I really didn't want to lose the length but the split ends were out of control and the layers I previously had basically turned into hair of two different lengths. I had no idea what a "proper" layered haircut looks or feels like and had a hard time even directing Joe as to what I wanted but he created the most beautiful cut I think I have ever had in my life. I've also never witnessed anyone use a razor before. He is truly a master of his craft both with the razor and the scissors! I am excited to bring my mother there next week and make this my regular spot going forward. Still contemplating ombre next. I highly recommend. Also, I think the bad review(s) are either unhappy folks that maybe are never pleased or someone that had a one-off bad experience but Joe and his team will go out of their way to make sure you are happy with the outcome. Joe got me in right away, took time to hear what I didn't like about the cut I'd just gotten elsewhere, then spent almost an hour shaping, cutting, and coloring it until I was happy. Too expensive for the job done. I called ahead and was quoted at $30 for a blowout. When I checked out, I was charged $35. When I questioned it, the receptionist said mine was more expensive because of my hair thickness. This is something I should have been told upfront when I called. The blowout was ok, but I am going to stick to my usual salon that charges $35 and does a phenomenal job. read more

I absolutely love my new hair! The color came out so natural you can hardly tell it's dyed! The stylist talked to me at length before hand about exactly what I wanted. I brought in several pictures to help guide and she showed me the hair color sample she wanted to use and I said yes.
