I am so thankful to have come across Camilla while researching German Shepherd breeders in 2014. I wanted a puppy that would be a great family dog, like the German Shepherd I grew up with. Camilla was recommended by a reputable German Shepherd breeder on the East Coast. I called Camilla and she spent close to an hour on the phone with me, patiently answering all of my questions and also educating me regarding health testing, temperament and what to look for in a breeder. Once we brought our puppy home, Camilla continued to patiently answer all of my questions and offer advice as we went through the puppy stage. I knew nothing, as I had not had a dog since I was a teenager, and Camilla was extremely patient as I learned how to be the best partner I could for my dog. Almost six year later, and I still feel like I have the best dog in the world. Mia is everything I wanted and so much more. She is sweet, smart, strong, gentle, and always dedicated to her family. Through Mia, I discovered how much fun dog training is, and that led to dog sports. Mia has excelled at everything we have tried - nose work, dock diving and we are now training in IGP (Schutzhund.) Mia goes everywhere with our family - camping, hotels, airport, stores, even wine tasting. I receive complements almost daily on her temperament, intelligence and beauty. I have thanked Camilla over and over again for trusting me with one of her wonderful dogs.

As a veterinarian from CA, I and have had the privilege of having 5 Sentinel Harts German Shepherds over the years. I am a firm believer that one should only breed to promote the best in that breed. Camilla's commitment to that philosophy is seen in may ways. She test's for degenerate myelopathy, a tragic and heart retching disease in this breed. We have had 3 dogs from a prominent kennel in Washington and they all went down with DM. She has an uncanny aptitude to evaluate her breeding pairs and their puppies. Matching the attributes and personalities to what her clientele is looking for. Camilla's dogs do not disappoint, 3 of our dogs have herding titles. They are all intelligent, focused, loyal and integral part of our family. I bring a different one to my hospital each day and they are impressive ambassadors. Trust her, she will not lead you astray. We are so lucky to have found Camilla and SentinelHarts! Our Kona is 6 and has been the best family dog for us. She is loyal, protective, a good traveler, smart, healthy, loves her routines. We recently went out of town for 5 days and missed her so much! The dog sitter said she was the best dog she's ever watched. I'm sure we will add another from Camilla at some point.

I stumbled upon Camilla's website online looking for puppies after searching shelter websites and finding all puppies were spoken for. I'm so glad that I did! We toured her property and I was very impressed with her dogs and her breeding program and philosophy. This was my first working line GSD and she was able to recommend an incredible trainer as well. We were so impressed and happy with our first dog, 2 years later we came back for our second! Couldn't be happier or recommend her enough for great confirmation, stable temperament, beautiful, loving dogs!

When I first moved out to the Bay Area (March 2019), I knew that I would be interested in adding to my family by getting a puppy. I did some searching and found SentinelHarts, who looked to have the type of German Shepherd I was looking for, the puppies looked beautiful. After Camilla gave me a tour of the property I knew immediately that this was where I was going to get my puppy. Persistence and patience paid off and in January of this year I got my little sable boy. Throughout the entire process Camilla was always so forthcoming and involved, which I always appreciated. Anyone who visits the kennel knows how much she cares for her dogs, and the time and effort she puts into training them, shows you are going to get an intelligent boy or girl. I think maybe the most important thing about SentinelHarts is that when you pick them they also pick you, this isn't the type of kennel that sells a dog and then never speaks to you again. It's a commitment and a partnership for the life of the dog. I wouldn't have it any other way, and I would suggest Camilla to anyone who was looking for a German Shepherd, and I have!

My boyfriend had wanted a German Shepherd for years, so when we finally decided it was time to add to our dog family, we did a lot of research. I came across Sentinelharts website and sent an inquiry to Camilla. She got back to me quickly and we talked for about an hour. I was happy to answer her questions because it showed she cared about who she gave her puppies to. When the pups were older and it was safe to do so, we met mom and dad, then the pups. She answered questions for us, really got to know us and which pup would be a good fit. Once Draego was old enough for us to take home, we felt as prepared as we possibly could for a new GSD puppy. That was 7 years ago and Draego has been a dream. He's healthy, has a sweet temperament and we had no issues getting hips and elbows registered. We've kept in contact with some of his litter mates even, and yes still update Camilla on how he's doing. I've recommended her to other people and don't regret anything. He's been a wonderful addition to our family.

Best dog ever! This review is long overdue. My pup just turned 4! Her name is Tilli von SentinelHarts (Wilma). From the T2 litter. I made the right choice getting my GSD from SentinelHarts. She is an amazing dog. So very clever, has perfect hips and elbows, an amazing temperament and personality to boot. She is so smart, and with the right amount of training during her wonder years, she is such a pleasure to be around. Not to mention so beautiful and nearly every day someone comments on her looks. She is the perfect dog. Smart, loyal, healthy, cheeky. Just perfect. Exactly what I wanted. Camilla is an amazing breeder and dedicates her life to these amazing dogs. You can tell how much she cares about her pups. Not only does she first ensure that one of her pups is right for you, she will match you with the right litter based on how you plan to raise your dog, whether your plans involve working together, competing or just learning the basics and kicking it around the house. And the relationship doesn't end once you take your pup home. She is always there to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Even if it's years down the track. It's also amazing to me that part of the puppy contract you must sign says that under any circumstance where you cannot care for your dog anymore, you must give it back to her. She truly cares about the wellbeing of her pups. I couldn't be happier with SentinelHarts.

I am so grateful that I was introduced to Camilla while searching for a German Shepherd dog breeder in 2016. Having been raised with GSD's and then very active with GSD rescue, I was eager to get my first breeder dog. Camilla is extremely passionate about breeding and breeding dogs with a solid temperament and structure. She allows the families to meet the pups at 6 weeks and determine your pick and then at 8 weeks take your bundle of joy home. I have learned so much more about the breed, their workability and forever grateful to Camilla! My boy is 2.5 yrs and we are working to get his Canine Good Citizen certificate now.

We got our GSD from SentinelHarts in 2013, and it was one of the best decisions we have ever made. As other reviewers mentioned, Camilla is great to work with. She was incredibly responsive, answered all questions, was informative, and in the end helped match us to a dog that fit our lifestyle and desires. We wanted a family dog and we are so happy we went with Camilla & SentinelHarts to add a GSD to our "pack"! Our girl Kira is loving, intelligent, goofy, athletic, beautiful, good with kids, calm around other dogs, and is the protector of our house. People comment on how impressive and beautiful our dog is nearly every time we're out with her. We love her so much and are so grateful for Camilla and her top of the line breeding program. Kira will be 7 this year and she is so healthy, rare are our trips to the vet (other than regular check ups)! Camilla is absolutely the best. She loves every dog in her huge family. Not only does she give all her dogs the best food, vet care and attention, she follows up with just about everyone who has one of her dogs. This is the best breeder not only in the bay area, but perhaps the entire United States. Her dogs are police K9, trackers, search and rescue, herders and so much more. Our GSD Shiloh is now 8 1/2 years old, she is strong, healthy, energetic and shows absolutely no signs of slowing down. Call Camilla, go see her dogs, you won't leave without a new family member.

I can't recommend this breeder enough! She's more than a 'breeder'. Camilla and her family are dedicated to raising genetically solid dogs that are highly motivated and driven. I've had 'dogs' before. I've never had dogs like these though. Their intelligence and drive to learn and please has been an incredible experience. I made a couple visits before bringing my babies home (two different puppies, two different litters over time). The facility is her family home, but is absolutely a professional kennel. Clean and well cared for, you can be sure your future baby has been exposed to many different experience and even different species of domestic animals. Camilla is thorough and has the well being of her dogs in the forefront of her mind. She helps guide families towards selecting dogs that match their home lives and activity levels and space available in the home. She is highly ethical. If it isn't a good fit, the puppy will not be placed. The puppy contract I received with my puppies was very thought out and included many health related documents of the parents. Like I said... SentinelHarts is the epitome of a responsible breeding programme that truly cares about preserving the traits of the working line German Shepherd. Camilla takes the health and wellbeing of the line exceptionally seriously, with several generations of health information available on her pups. Throughout the entire process of getting a puppy from SentinelHarts, Camilla's focus was on finding us the perfect match for our family and circumstances. With Echo being our first ever dog, we had a very steep learning curve. Camilla was incredibly supportive throughout the tricky first few months while we worked on house-training, and with her being so generous with her time and advice, Echo has developed into a wonderful companion. Anyone that spends time with Echo comments on how impressively well-trained he is, not only for his age but even compared to adult dogs they've interacted with (being fully trusted in any house whether ours or a completely new environment, including all the rules such as staying off the furniture and remaining calm, by 6 months old). I can rarely take Echo for a walk without getting at least one compliment from a stranger on what a beautiful dog he is. Camilla's pups are sound, biddable, whip-smart, and beautiful; and her depth of knowledge sets any owner (whether a pet or working home) up for real success. We wouldn't change a thing.
