    Korean Chicken Curry
    Yoland E.

I had this place on my wish-list for a while so I finally stopped by during my commute to get some food. I got the Monday special (Korean Chicken Curry) which was very flavourful and well priced at around $10. I'm looking forward to trying other things from the menu! Keep in mind that they only take cash.

This was really close to our air bnb and so we had to check it out. We came right before they were closing. We originally was going to get their daily specials but decided to get the bento box instead as it seem like a good deal and it was!!! There was so much food for a good price. the bento came with rice, beef bulgogi, japchae, kimchi, seaweed salad, a few various tempura veggies and an eggroll. It was a heavy box. Everything was really good except for the rice. It was on the dry side We also got the gimbap which surprisingly was good and the rice was soft and fresh. Overall, it was a good place if you want cheap fast good food.

Second time coming here...the portion sizes are generous and they make the food to order, so it's fresh! The yum yum chicken is flavourful and crispy, although it's mostly batter and could use more meat. The donkatsu is also tasty and crisp with a lot of pork. The sides are alright. Overall good value but be aware that it's cash or e-transfer only.

So many items to choose from. Great prices with huge portions. The lady made my deep fried pork chop (Mega Donkatsu) fresh to order. Tasted good when I got home. Not the absolute best I've ever had, but after walking it home in the cold winter, I presume most take-out flavours would be similarly dulled. I feel like the shop is solely run by 1 lady...she was very kind! I hope we can all continue to support small businesses like these in Toronto . I see that there's a daily special menu, I'll be back to try the others for sure!

You cannot get better bang for your buck along Bloor Street East than this hole-in-the-wall Korean spot. Come noon hour there's a small crowd that'll gather to pick up the daily special, a bento box (my #1 recommendation), kimbap, japchae, or something else off the extensive menu! For the size of the place, the menu really does have everything! The Korean fare will be filling - lots of rice, lots of flavour, and a special every weekday. If you're cutting back on the white rice, this could be problematic, but their bento box is a great way to mitigate that as you get a variety of items. It's also a great way to sample their food at a great price, so definitely recommended for those struggling to decide. Aside from Korean fare they've also got burgers and Jamaican patties - the simple stuff that you could otherwise get at 7-eleven, but now prepared with care alongside some other items to make it a full meal. Haven't tried any of those, but they seem popular for their price. As the name suggests, this is pure takeout. Fortunately, you don't have to wait on the street - they have a little storm door space and you can call your order into the kitchen basically. Just don't arrive with a crowd as you may not fit!

Like some of the other reviews mention below, this place is literally a hole in the wall. You order from the street through a window and your food is ready within two minutes. The nicest lady ever takes your order, and on a really cold day she might even invite you to wait inside this tiny little room/doorway on the side that is big enough for maybe one person. The food itself is really good and the prices can't be beat for downtown Toronto. My bill came to $10 after tax and I didn't even get the daily special. I ordered the bulgogi bowl and it came with the beef, rice, kimchi, broccoli, tofu, spring roll and a deep fried dumpling. Everything is delicious and the portion sizes are huge - I couldn't finish everything so I had to save some for later. Can't wait to come back and try something new.

This review will probably sound a lot better than the 3 star rating I having given it because this place really has a special charm, but let me explain. Seoul Food Take-Out is a tiny window in the side of a building. Behind the window you can see a kitchen an a truly lovely Korean woman running this little solo business. She makes Korean food for you to take out and is open only during lunch/business hours. I LOVE Korean food and the food here is good but not great which is ultimately why I gave 3 starts. The food is A-Ok but not amazing. Perhaps a 3.5 would be more appropriate. The thing is that one has to keep 4 and 5 star options available for the places in the world that stand out and right now my favorite restaurant in the world is a Korean Imperial Cuisine place in Vancouver. The food there is mind blowing. All that said, I would strongly encourage you to take your lunches out from Seoul Food Take-Out if you live/work in the area because lovely little businesses like this deserve to be successful!

Quick thumb-typed review. Passed by this place after parking. Saw the lunch specials and decided to give it a try. It's a take-out window with good, hearty food. Kind service, portions to power from the most diminutive sis to the most gargantuan man! They are there to help workers like us get through the day for value. A real community-oriented place. I am grateful they are open and hope they will continue to shine. I will not be packing lunch when I frequent this area - I will be here instead! Cute bonus: the inside of the takeaway box has the words "Thank You" embossed inside. Nice touch. It's an odd, but encouraging feeling to see such positive words facing you throughout your meal.

Huge portions. I saved half for lunch for another day

As many others have mentioned, this is a literal hole in the wall near Bloor and Sherbourne. It's easy to miss since it's just a window where you order your food with no seating. They have daily specials every day for really good value and the owner was really patient and friendly! In addition to various Korean food options for the specials they also have kimbap and other items behind the counter (just ask). Great spot for a take out lunch during the work week!

The I Heart Butter Tart Concrete ($6.49) that I ordered was a little too much for myself. I did decide to go through and finish the ice cream / sundae just so I don't have anything to go. The interior of the place was properly though out and well designed. Self order stations are available to order from and the ordering interface is one of the better systems I have seen. When I dined in early afternoon on a weekday it was a rather slow day. There were a couple of Shake Shack employees constantly roaming about the premises ready to attend to any customer request. 1 such employee was thoughtful enough to serve me and a group of other customers some water. I have mixed feelings about the bathroom setup. Yes, it is clean and there were a few toilet rooms available, but it requires a code to be entered prior to using. The door screen shows as vacant but an employee still needs to give out the 4 digit code needed to access the toilets. I also found some issues with the water faucet sensors. It is inconsistently picking up my gestures resulting in an unreliable and unsteady flow of running water when I was washing my hands.

I couldn't let the opportunity pass. The dining space? Bright, clean, inviting. Modern but casual. Off to a genuinely good start. And then... things went south. I ordered the peri-peri chicken with two sides. The wait was excruciating. Not just long--confusing. Every single person who ordered after me was eating while I sat there wondering if my ticket got lost in another country. When the chicken finally arrived, I was stunned--and not in a good way. Easily the smallest leg/thigh combo I've ever seen. Yes, I'm used to USA-sized, GMO-filled chickens, but I've eaten plenty overseas. This wasn't "European portioning." This was kiddie-sized. Flavor? Underwhelming. Forgettable. Nothing that made me pause, nothing that lingered. For a place built on peri-peri heat and personality, this was shockingly flat. I can get chicken with more punch at my local Grocery & Go. The mac and cheese had decent texture--the breadcrumbs did their job--but flavor-wise? Completely bland. Zero soul. The fries? Although well seasoned, we're like warm. Overhyped things rarely deliver, and Nando's sadly fits the bill. Massive disappointment is the phrase that keeps coming to mind
