Such a great Korean restaurant! I'm a Korean American who moved to Cleveland about 2 years ago and have been on the hunt for good Korean food. After multiple recommendations to check out this place, I finally made it! We came during lunch and were greeted warmly and seated immediately. We ordered the galbi lunchbox and the kimchi stew. Both were very delicious and affordably-priced! There were lots of free side dishes, including the steamed egg (which is a nice surprise)! The vibe reminds me of a traditional Korean restaurant that you see in Los Angeles, which was very nostalgic and reminded me of home. A pretty good Korean BBQ place! We really wanted the beef short rib but they were out! We had the pork belly instead which was great, of course, but around prime dinner time, to have a major entrée item be out is kind of annoying. Servers were nice but did not fill waters nor napkins very often. I've been to many other Korean BBQ places and there were a few more side dishes available. For 2 people at the price of $45, was expecting more than 6 tiny dishes. The steamed egg was a good surprise though. It only came with 2 sauces and there was no gochujang! We also ordered strawberry soju which was amazing but here they charged you $13 for the bottle. Finally found a place with good Koran BBQ. Not used to ordering Korean food so the menu may as well been in a foreign language. Did not know that if you order ONE thing you get nine dishes with food. Walked into the restaurant and the guy shoved menus at us, mumbled something( couldn't understand him because he was wearing a dirty mask) and walked into the kitchen. We stood there stunned until he came back out and I politely asked if he said to wait or couldn't serve us. He then shook his hands in my face and said he can't wait on us. Wow..what can I say? If you leave this place hungry, there is something wrong with you. Prices are great for what you get and everything is tasty. Most of my favorite Korean spots are downtown, but this place here in Parma is just as good an option and it saves the drive to downtown from the burbs. You get a serious amount of food. Kimchi is good and reasonably spicy. They bring out free appetizers and by the time your real meal arrives, you are usually stuffed. Will definitely be back. Only reason I docked this place a star is the bathrooms...they are tiny and are also being used for cleaning product storage. But I guess that's to be expected given this place is so small. When we visited Cleveland, I looked at Yelp and the reviews for this restaurant were good. I had Bibimbap. I regard myself as a Bibimbap connoisseur. Although I was unimpressed by the appearance of the beef in the dish, the dish was outstanding. I give it 5 out of 5. My partner had grilled mackerel. It was two big pieces. She was not happy with the way it was filleted. One piece was a 'proper' filet, but the other 'filet' was the 'rest of the fish.' That was odd. She did not think it was particularly flavorful, but I have eaten Saba Shioyaki many times at Japanese restaurants (yes I know, this is a Korean restaurant) and I thought the mackerel was very good.The waiter - possible the hardest working waiter I have ever seen in my life - got her some lemon slices and she was happy after that. 4.5 out of 5. The Banchan was excellent, especially the seaweed and daikon salad. I really liked the Pepperoncini that were dressed with a sweet golchujang. I also liked the presentation of the omelet. I am used to it being served 'ready to eat.' Here the egg is presented as it is boiling in a heated iron pot. After a few minutes, the egg was cooked and ready to eat. Banchan - 5 out of 5. I would have drunk kloud beer, but they were out. Instead I had an OB (Oriental Brewing) and it was excellent. (Read the label; it is entertaining.) Many of the customers we saw were Korean which in my mind is indicative of 'culinary authenticity.' They have a small parking lot next to the store which was very convenient. If this restaurant were in my hometown, I would be a regular. Finally, the waiter has to been seen to be believed. I have never seen a faster or harder working waiter. Seoul Garden was definitely worth the drive out to Parma! I really like their banchan variety (6 dishes) which were all delicious and probably slightly better than Ha Ahn's. Dduk bok gi is usually a hit or miss for me, but this one was perfectly flavored with a balance of sweet and spicy and not too starchy. We got the spicy garlic fried chicken (gan poong gi) which was tasty but a lot more sweet than spicy so ask for extra spicy if you like it with that extra kick. Pretty reminiscent of Bonchon wings, but with some added flavor from the garlic and red peppers... dont forget to pair it with the pickled radish! Portion sizes for both entrees and appetizers are hugee so one plate is definitely more than enough even for two fried chicken aficionados with plenty of leftovers to take home. We came here with a really big group and I'm not sure why but somebody decided we should order more dishes than the number of people in our party. Anyways, we got two each of the seafood pancake, bulgogi, galbi, Kahn poong Gi and japchae, one dukbokki and one Budaejigae (army stew, serves 2-3 I think). The food was great, as always. For some reason the bulgogi portion size was really small compared to everything else (we wished we had just ordered more galbi instead). The Kang pong Gi was a really big serving size, it kind of reminded me of orange chicken or general Tso's chicken. The budaejigae was spicier than I expected (still really tasty but I thought it would just be moderately spicy). The seafood pancake is really big and is sliced into 8. Dukbokki came with some strips of carrots and peppers and the big long rice cakes. The japchae was really flavorful and came with beef and vegetables in it. We had a bunch of food leftover because we ordered so much. The service was pretty good and they were pretty attentive and helpful (especially considering the fact that we were a big noisy group with also a few babies). Also the food came out pretty quickly which I happy about since we were all pretty hungry. I love stopping by at this restaurant everyone I goto Cleveland. This is one of my favorite Korean restaurants in the area. This restaurant has good banchan or side dishes selections. I love the fact that they have gyeran jjim or steamed egg as their complimentary sides. They have a pretty good alcohol selection here as well ranging from korean beer, different types of sojus, rice wine, and etc. The portion for their jungol is pretty big and they don't skimp out on the meats and veggies. And other foods I've ordered are fairly priced here as well. Overall I recommend this restaurant if you are craving korean food! My boyfriend and I stopped by here for a late lunch, and their indoor restaurant is open with seating at least 6 feet apart, with signs requesting that everyone wears a mask when they leave their table. We ordered shumai as an appetizer, hot tea for both of us, japchae and bibimbap. The food was amazing. The japchae was especially delicious, with the excellent noodle flavor, and beef. Yumm!!! Seoul Garden is by far my favorite place in Cleveland for korean food -- the portions are large, the dishes are flavorful, and the banchan are unlimited! Some of the typical banchan dishes include kimchi, pickled seaweed, jalapeno peppers with spice, bean sprouts, and steamed egg (you are limited to only one of these though). My go to dishes include the galbi (my ultimate favorite! tangy, grilled korean short ribs), seafood pancake (is a massive dish, we always use it as an appetizer), dubboki (spicy rice cakes), and jap chae (stir fried glass noodles with veggies & meat). However, every dish I have tried/ ordered at this place has always came out pretty good in my opinion. I think this restaurant is best to go to with a group so that everyone can do family style to try the different entrees. Just know that the smell of the food will cling to your clothes -- so just keep that in mind before going! While it is a bit further out of the way for me in terms of location (since most other korean places are near Asiatown), a trip to Seoul Garden is always worth the money and time. read more

Seoul Garden is my go to for Korean. When I have a craving for KFC, a pit stop here is always in order. Food is great and staff in the front are always kind. I love love love the potato side dish, though, I haven't seen it in a while. The menu was recently update (?? - consolidated to a 2 sided menu), but still includes all the staples. My goto are KFC, sweet and sour pork, spicy squid, tofu soup, and army soup. If you want meats, just do BBQ instead of pre-cooked al la carte options. read more

Rather enjoyed the food having great tasting blend of Korean flavors. It's a little bit on the hot or spicy side for the dishes although very tasty. The workers in the dinning area are working very and it was busy on a Friday evening as expected for a weekend I didn't really scan the place carefully and it may have 15 tables for groups of 4 people for each table. Relatively clean and having traditional dark brown restaurant style tables. Is seems as if the workers are working hard and where they really need one more extra help to make it easier o. Then during the evening hours. They provided several appetizers with the meal with extra upon request. Please request for more if you plan to plan to eat the appetizers. The only downfall of the visit would be the price. I do feel that it is higher priced for entrees dishes and the bill is about 20 to 25% more than I would expect to pay. I am not sure if there is any other places in town that have similar quality and I would like to try them. Reply back or leave comment if you know and can share places around town. I had to drop the total by one star because of the pricing since it not a fancy dining place inside and would expect to pay that much. Alright, I've been back here few more times since my first visit, tried different items and there are only few favorites and items that I would avoid. Things I liked: 1. Banchans (side items), they give you 10 items and steamed egg (granted the 2nd time I was there, they did not give me steamed eggs). Of the Banchans, my favorite is the sour seaweed and the bockchoy kimchi. 2. Service - even when busy, they are able to serve without issues. On my first visit, they only had that one person working the front, but now they have two people working, they work well and complimenting each other, which is great, because the operations flows flawlessly!!! 3. I like how they give you yogurt when they bring you the check. 4. Favorite Food? I'll have to say their galbi (it's expensive), but it's grilled and delicious. Their Denjang jigae was good as well. Things I did not like: Dae gu Tang - this dish has no flavor, when you taste the broth, all you taste is gochujang that's been dissolved in hot water. They need to season the broth with bit of salt and other seasoning. I'll never order this again. I ended just eating the fish and leaving behind all the veggies and the broth. Gae gu Jiri - this is same as above, but clear broth version (non-spicy), the broth was overpowered by the amount of garlic they put in the dish and the broth itself lacked seasoning and flavor. If seasoned and flavored right, when you sip on the broth, it should be refreshing, but it's not. Like the tang version, I ended eating only the fish and leaving behind the veggies and the broth as well, like Tang, will not be ordering this dish as well. On the Middle Ground: Jaeyook - not bad. While I wouldn't go out of my way to get this, it was decent. Spicy, so unfortunately the flavor combo really didn't work here... the spice of the dish overpowered the favors, so it was hard to grasp the true taste. - Kimchi Chigae - Not bad, far better then other Korean joints. - Spicy Squid - see my original review. - Dduk Bokki (Spicy Rice Cake) - they have two sizes, 6 pcs or 12 pcs. At first, I'm like 6 pcs, rice cakes are small so I ordered the 12 pcs, well they use the long rice cakes!!! I couldn't consider this dish a traditional dduk bokki, but it's their take on dduk bokki stir fried. The sauce here tastes the same as the sauce used in Spicy Squid. When I return to the area, will skip their jigae offering and try other food items on the menu. read more

Stopped in to retry Seoul Garden and I have to say that I was very impressed. Ever since Seoul Hot Pot closed I have been looking for a go to place for Korean food and I have to say I was suprised to find it in Parma. The outside looks a bit run down, but once you get inside you will find a clean, warm and friendly restaurant. The dining room is a couple of rows of tables in a wood paneled room, almost feels like eating in a paneled basement. Service is attentive, you will be greeted, seated and given the barley tea with a nice nutty flavor. The menu is extensive, with Korean and Japanese items; I ordered the the Seafood Bibim bap. The meal starts with a nice selection of banchan, the small dishes of kim chi, pickles and other appetizers, some hot, some salty and some slightly sweet. Next out is the small red hot pot with the best scrambled eggs you will ever taste, fluffy clouds of eggs; just be careful not to burn your mouth. I have not gotten these at any other Cleveland Korean restaurant and it is a great item, especially to use to counter the spicey hot items. Finally we get to the Seafood Bibim Bap, a hot pot filled with rice, shrimps, squid, scallops and then topped with vegetables and a raw egg. Add in the peppery miso hot sauce and stir to complete the cooking of the items and you have a delicious meal that will satisfy your seafood cravings. With a generous portion in the bibim bap along with all the other items, you will end up full and well satisfied. With the bill they serve the chilled yogurt shot to give you a sweet ending to your meal. I did want to mention that all of the food was beautifully presented, it is a real pleasure to have the food be a feast for the eyes before being a feast for your mouth. This place is pretty good. There is a small assortment of bonchons (all well flavored but very similar). The meat comes pre bbq. we got the short ribs but really they were more like real ribs. The bones were huge and the meat tough around it. We also got the ddeikbokgi which had a nice flavor but I wish they used smaller rice cakes and had more fish cake incorporated. While this establishment is pretty good, I don't think I would stop by again unless I was in the area. read more

What an incredible spot!! We were wary of the exterior, but so glad we committed. It's really worth the trip. They are really generous with proportions, so be cautious when ordering. We had the rice noodle appetizer (full size) and were shocked when it arrived - it could have easily been the main for three people! I would skip the shumai next time and save the room for my own dinner - the bibimbap and rice noodles were great. All in all a delicious meal. So...the food served here is as authentic as ot comes! There were about 15 customers in the restaurant while we were there and my wife and I were two of four caucasians. If so many folks of Korean decent like their food, you know it must be good! It WAS GOOD!! I would have LOVED to give this restaurant 5 stars, however it isn't the cleanest restaurant I've ever been in. My rule of thumb is if the customer area is filthy, chances are the kitchen is too. Nice place. Friendly staff, even on a busy night. The staff was really attentive and got your food and orders out quickly! The food was alright. Got the Kalbi as my entree, smaller portion than other Korean bbq places. The flavor was alright, food comes pre cooked. Food was a bit on the bland side, it definitely would of been better if the marinade was on point. Also, I wished it came on a sizzling plate to keep the food warm and still cooking a little. But no biggie. They have Korean beer though! So it wasn't the best Korean food I've had, but I've been living in LA, but its pretty decent in Cleveland. And so, the 4 stars. Food was tasty, lotsa banchan (even if not all tasted really good), and service was quick if you could get the waitress' attention. There was only 2 other tables there so it wasn't like it was ultra busy or anything. So prices are decent here, soon dubu wasn't too bad. Pricier than what I'm used to but expected. Banchan was plentiful, some good others not so good. Banchan list-anchovies, egg thing in stone pot, pickled radishes, tofu, napa kimchi, soy bean sprouts, jop chae, some other type of kimchi etc etc. Quite a bit...some okay, some not so good, but in good supply at least. I got the soon dubu, which was tasty and in a large proportion, but was just tofu and onions and barely any seafood. Just some little shrimp and 3 pieces of squid and nothing else. The spicyness comes from chili oil and it just sits on top. You can ask for a higher spice level and they just put more chili oil. So yea I left happy after eating at this place. It was good and just spicy enough for the everyone at the table to enjoy, but the fish cake was missed. A nice selection of banchan and complimentary steamed egg were all good.
