    Spicy Korean Fried Chicken Ramen

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cool, comic book style menus and decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Incredible, incredible food. They catered my wedding, and we routinely go back for more. Offer a wide variety of meals for people of all ages and preferences. One of the best restaurants in the city, often overlooked.

My friend and I came here on a Friday night and made reservations online. It didn't appear that we needed them, but they still had a table I requested saved and I appreciated that. If you have specific seating requests (booth, high top), you can make that choice on Resy when you book. Parking is a bit of a challenge but there is a free lot past the restaurant off 67th past the NearWest Theatre. Our server was friendly and willing to answer our many questions regarding their bar menu. The restaurant offers an extensive drink menu including Japanese whiskeys and craft sodas. My friend and I shared the tograshi tots and then ordered the pad Thai and BBQ Pork Steam Buns. I felt that the tots were a good value for the price considering we got a large basket full. My friend's pad Thai was huge and she said she enjoyed it. I thoroughly enjoyed the steam buns, although $16 for three seemed a bit steep. I would definitely order them again. We were not rushed to leave after our meal and the server continued to check on us even though we'd finished eating which was a nice touch. I would definitely come back here.

We've been wanting to try this place forever and now I'm sorry we waited so long. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you're worried about it being kid friendly, don't be.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our son had a burger and tots. We opted for the spring rolls and dumplings to start and then split chicken ramen and chicken fried rice. Everything was excellent. The staff was very friendly and engaging. In full disclosure we were the only people there when we first got there. Highly recommend this place for their ramen. We'll be back soon.

My friend and I were out and about, she wanted to take me to a few new spots while I was home for the holidays - enter Ninja City. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This space was larger than I anticipated and I loved the bar area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was a slow night as we got there about an hour before they closed, but the servers were super polite and attentive. I couldn't decide what I was in the mood for but their entire appetizer selection sounded really good. I was in luck because they allow you to create a bento box with either three or four items - I went with four because, why not. My bento box included the crab Rangoon mozz sticks, chicken Chinese skewers, charsiu pork ribs and chicken gyoza dumplings. My friend also ordered us tofu steam buns - delicious - along with the Togarashi tots! She ordered the tofu Banh Mi for herself. Loved everything we tried but next time I will for sure be trying the ramen. I'd highly recommended checking them out if you are in the area!

    Fried Rice ($16.50) with Shrimp (+$1) -- June 2024
    Agnes I.

I've been to Ninja City Kitchen many times in the past. I've never eaten inside and I've always ordered to go. I do want to plan a time to dine-in with friends for dinner one day. STEAM BUNS (5/5 stars but slightly expensive) -- Normally, I order their steam buns ($16.50) which come with four small pieces of steamed dough with your choice of protein. The steam buns are small enough where you can hold it in your hand and they are sooo tasty. Protein choices are chicken, tofu, shrimp (+$1), steak (+$1), or pork. The buns are topped with pickled carrot, radish, jalapeño, cilantro, scallions, and chili aioli. I normally get the steamed buns with shrimp which cost a $1 extra because of the shrimp. Take a look at my photos of the steam buns here on the Yelp page (the steam buns photos didn't link to this review for some reason). FRIED RICE WITH SHRIMP (2.5 or 3/5) -- For my most recent visit in June 2024, I ordered the Fried Rice ($16.50) with Shrimp (+$1) which cost $17.50 plus tax. I love fried rice and shrimp (fish) in general but this one here from Ninja City tasted very burnt. It was strange. I'm not sure if they used old ingredients when cooking this dish but something wasn't right at all. Maybe the soy sauce, if there was soy sauce in this, was different somehow? I remember biting into the fried rice and thinking how I would finish it when I didn't like the taste. Since this was a takeout order and I was already back in my car, I didn't want to turn around to return to the restaurant to complain so I ate as much as I could. I won't be ordering the fried rice again. The amount of food (little) you get compared to the price (high) may turn you off but try the food first -- I am referring here to the steam buns which are $16.50 plus a $1 if you add shrimp. I definitely recommend the steam buns with shrimp though but I don't recommend the friend rice with shrimp. **** GOAL of 150 reviews in 2024 - 85/150 total reviews in 2024 - 735 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 10 August 2024

    Chicken wings, and Togarashi Tots
    Henry N.

I was here the other night for dinner. I had the poke bowl, which was very fresh and filling. They had a variety of fruity beers for the season. My favorite are the Togarashi tots and their very large chicken wings! ninja city has some great Asian fusion food offerings and adult beverages in a restaurant/bar setting.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was fun with cool decor![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was ok. The food & libations were not good at all. I DEFINITELY would not come back. Apps Spring rolls w/ pork- taste frozen, greasy, dipping sauces literally taste watered down and not flavourful at all. Dumplings - very strong cabbage flavor, greasy, weak/watered down dipping sauce again. Drinks Lychee Mojito weak/watered down, very light flavor. Reminded me of hint water. Singapore Redux tiki - thai chili syrup was so strong & over powering. Looked layered inititally. Stirred still very strong. The chili flavor was the main note with a pinch of sweetness. Entree Pad thai with lime slice & chicken: mild flavor. Rice bowl with chicken - bland, sauce very watered down tasted of sesame oil & soy sauce watered down, kimchee bland and vingery not spicy. Chicken well flavored. There were no sauces or salt/pepper on tables. Their food is not good enough to not have traditional chinese condiments on tables.

    Tofu Fried Rice
    Ev L.

Oh my goodness. When I tell y'all this food was absolutely fantastic. It was even better once I put the sauces on (hoisin & soy). The tofu was perfectly crispy and chewy. The rice was yummy and very well seasoned. Also our server was very kind. We had a big group and she gave us all stickers!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]For the size of the place, the vibe wasn't too bad.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was kind of facing one wall so I didn't get the chance to look around and really take in the ambiance, but it was still cute.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Gives modern/rustic bar kind of vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Our first visit since the completion of the remodel and menu change, [[HIGHLIGHT]]this was a fantastic dinner, complete with exceptional service and simple, inviting and clean decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We started with a bento box of Edamame, short ribs, and gyoza. Our server Jordan was SO helpful and a pleasure to be around. We had some good laughs as we decided what to eat as our entrees. While delivering some news about alterations (menu, menu items etc.) he made some of the less than desirable news more digestible with suggestions and anecdotes to calm our heads. 11/10 service, will go back just to give him more tips! We decided to share some pork steam buns and an order of orange chicken. Both were spectacular, bursting with well balanced flavors! We always love the steam buns, regardless of filling. The green tea was the perfect pairing for our meal, and we left satisfied and slightly caffeinated! Will be back again and again for those delicious buns, Jordan's lighthearted humor, and the updated menu (with comic book reintroduced!). Beignets to go were okay, but might have been better at the restaurant.

Had the orange chicken a few months ago when it was a monthly special. Happy to see it on the regular menu. At $24, I think it's a bit steep in price but it's very tasty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the remodeling on the inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Steam Buns with pulled pork
    Binnan O.

Ambiance: This place has a cool comic-book vibe with a pretty wide smattering of Asian influences including chinese, korean, vietnamese and japanese cuisines. The staff are friendly and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. They will text you when your food is ready so it's easy to roam about while you're waiting. Food: We ordered maybe some of the more fusion-centric items including the bahn mi which came with the togarashi tots, steamed bbq pulled pork buns, and a brown sugar bubble tea. The bahn mi gets some things right such as the do chua pickles and butter-mayo but uses a denser hoagie-style bun and roasted honey ham in it which is a little weird. It did not feel very "classic" despite being labeled as such and was inferior to the cold cuts or chashu of what you could get elsewhere. The side of tots were deliciously crunchy and the mild spice of the togarashi very enjoyable, however ours didn't come with the ginger ketchup of the full order (see pics) which made for a very dry experience. The steamed buns were the stronger dish with texturally-perfect pillowy buns, spicy jalapeno, and tasty pulled pork. The main complaint is that you only get about 2 teaspoons of pulled pork and it makes for a much less filling meal compared to the equally-priced bahn mi. Our bubble tea was the worst part of the meal, it tasted like watered down milk without any tea flavor or sweetness of brown sugar. The boba was also skimpy and overcooked. Inedible. Overall our meal was pretty lack-luster, I would have much rather gotten a bahn mi and steamed buns from Asia Town Center for a fraction of the price. I would be open to trying some of the more traditional items on the menu such as the rice and noodle dishes but am admittedly wary.

    Holy Kumquats!!!! Sangria
    Lisa C.

Fun place to relax & enjoy modern takes on Asian food. Service was good & we were well taken care of. First time for eating a Korean corn dog. Yummy! Really liked the crunchy coating. The cocktail I ordered complimented the food I ate. The Holy Kumquats!!!! Sangria was a perfect choice for the foods I tried tonight. My friend & I split a few dishes so that we could save room for dessert. Glad we did! The fried ice cream was amazing! They have perfected the fried ice cream in my opinion. The food quality is awesome! We also enjoyed the Pad Thai & lettuce wraps. Will definitely eat here again! The prices are good here too.

The location is small and unassuming with terrible parking situation. (Tip: park far away and walk here). At lunch time, it was busy with lots of people waiting for their food with one person at the register. He was nice and suggested I try the Mexican street corn as my side. So I did! Then I chose to get the Cleveland hot chicken sandwich with coleslaw to go. After waiting about 15 minutes, I got my lunch, hot and ready. The chicken sandwich is actually about four thin breaded chicken tenders covered in a slightly hot sauce. I think a 3/10 rating instead of its labeled 7/10 rating would fit it better. The breading was good and covered nice, fresh chicken meat. I appreciated the attempt at topping with coleslaw although I wish there was more. The bun was better quality than anything at a fast food place. The street corn was nice and I enjoyed the spices on it. I wish there was less sauce as the corn was drenched in a sauce that didn't really add any flavor to it. Just empty calories. Overall, give this place a shot! The price is decent, although not incredible but there is something special here.

Subject: Formal Complaint - Discrimination and Unprofessional Conduct…read more Let me start off with a positive and say I've never had a bad experience up until this moment I am writing to formally report a deeply concerning and unacceptable experience I had at your establishment during my recent visit. While interacting with one of your bartenders, I was met with repeated dismissive behavior. She continuously stated, "I'm only a bartender, I can't read minds," instead of offering assistance or resolving the issue. We even tried to have Management come and resolve the issue but the bar made got very rude loud rude and obnoxious and had us escorted out. More concerning, however, was that during this interaction, she directed a racial slur toward me by calling me a "Black bitch." This behavior is not only unprofessional--it is discriminatory, offensive, and completely unacceptable in any setting. No customer should ever be subjected to this kind of treatment. I am requesting that this matter be taken seriously and investigated immediately. Incidents like this reflect poorly on your establishment and create a hostile and unsafe environment for patrons. Additionally, if this matter is not addressed appropriately, I am prepared to make my fellow Black community aware of the type of employees being placed in your establishment, as no one should have to endure this kind of treatment. I expect a prompt response regarding how this issue will be handled.
