    Fried Soft Shell Crab

Very mediocre spot, and an odd service experience imo. We came in around 5 and it was super busy. The hostess looked busy and distracted, but we were told all tables were full except the communion table in an upstairs loft area. We went ahead and took it, and it was just one big table upstairs. Nothing was setup, so we had the grab plates and menus ourselves on a table next to us. We then proceeded to wait for 20+ with nobody taking our order or getting water. Within that time, another party sat down at the community table, and left without ordering (presumably bc the wait was too long). I ended up going downstairs to ask someone to get our order. While I was waiting for someone, another party also seemed to be looking to be seated and couldn't find the hostess. They ended up getting seated at our community table, and also left before eating. We finally were able to place our orders, I got the salmon poke bowl and tried the calamari, fried soft shell crab, and bulgolgi. The fried soft shell crab was a bit too oily for my taste, the calamari was fine. When I got my poke, they had forgot sauce and I had to downstairs again to ask for it. There was a bit too much lettuce for my taste, and it seems like they reuse a lot of vegetables. For example, the lettuce (which I've never had in poke) is the same lettuce in the house salad, even though it was a the size was hard to eat in my poke. The bulgogi dish had the same raw carrots as a side that was in the house salad as well.. like they couldn't even cook the carrots lol. Towards the end the place cleared out a bit and service was better, but by that time, we were pretty much done with our meal. The lady we were talking to was very sweet and I could tell she was overwhelmed and apologetic towards us, but if you're too busy, I think it would be better to just not accept more tables. Not worth the wait for the food, but I understand why the service the way it was, especially bc they looked understaffed as well.

The service is amazing. You can always get in and out fairly quickly with great quality food. I stopped in before a show and enjoyed all the show posters as decorations.

The sushi was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor--every bite was a delight. The service was outstanding; the staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting, perfect for a casual meal or special night out. I'm giving 4 stars due to smaller portion sizes for some dishes compared to the price.

This was our second time trying Sushi En and we were just as impressed as the first time! Food was so fresh and delicious! Service was pleasant and fast! Perfect place to stop before a show at the theatre. They offer such unique sushi rolls which we are complete suckers for. Will definitely be back!

Excellent sushi. I stopped in 45 minutes before closing and the staff was friendly and fast. The sushi was fresh and very good. Prices were reasonable as well. If you're catching a show at the State Theater next door, this is a great option before/after.

A decent place for sushi and tempura, right near Playhouse Square...which is very convenient. We found the food average and the service fairly inattentive. Our food choices...tempura shrimp and veggies, shumai (served lukewarm), cucumber salad, salmon roe sushi, spicy scallop with cucumber roll, eel & cucumber roll. So many good reviews for this place had us scratching our heads a bit, but maybe it was an off night? Again, hard to beat the convenience factor if going to a theatre show so maybe we'll give them another try sometime?

Such a great spot for an early dinner. We both had salads and shared the goyza. Multiple sushi rolls later, we are happy campers! Would highly recommend. Our waitress was super sweet and gave great recommendations.

I'm not a Cleveland native and was struggling to find a spot that looked good and wasn't expensive, and I'm glad I settled on this! Wasn't busy when we arrived but quickly filled up with reservations. My food was good and very filling, husband liked his as well but wasn't mind-blowing. Baby liked his gyoza!

Charming new sushi restaurant in Playhouse Square. Location is ideal for theatre-goers, but comes with the typical parking headaches of its prime location. The restaurant itself isn't too big and likely fills up quickly on event days. You can probably get away with walking in but reservations are possible as well. We were greeted with a huge smile by one of the hostesses and seated quickly. A lot of the staff seems to be Korean so despite the name, you'll actually find some Korean comforts like bulgogi and bibimbap as well. The laminated menu is the one you'll want to focus on if sushi is your aim. Use the provided marker to pick which/how many rolls you want and the sushi chefs will get working right away. I'd recommend trying at least 1-2 of those based on your fish/seafood preference and rounding out the meal with the raw sushi rolls in the first column that are more basic and VERY attractively priced. Our food came out in a very reasonable time, though the restaurant also wasn't too busy that night. The Takoyaki were on the smaller side but tasty, well-presented, and bursting with fried octopus goodness. The Pork Gyoza are deep fried and just okay. If you order a bunch of rolls, they come out on a nicely decorated wooden lazy susan so no one has to reach over each other in your group to get the roll they want. Of all the chef's and specialty rolls we tried, we couldn't pick a favorite and the quality was solid. I'm only sad that they don't stay open later since it's easy to lose track of time when you're enjoying such tasty food with friends. Would definitely be able to eat my way through several more dinners here!

Presentation was solid but the fish was fishy and almost inedible. Definitely needed some soy sauce.

I went for carryout the other night and was so happy I did. The online ordering process was easy and efficient. They said my order would be ready in 15 minutes and when I walked in it was there waiting for me... still hot from the kitchen. The restaurant is small. On the end of a strip center on Euclid Ave in Willoughby. The parking lot was full and several people were standing outside waiting. So, I would say it would be wise to have reservations. The food was extraordinary. I mean it was sensational. If you like Japanese cuisine, this is the place. We tried 5 different items and everything was wonderful. Where else can you get all-you-can-eat sashimi, sushi rolls, hibachi, and other appetizers for under 30 bucks? I went here for dinner, and for $28.99, I got a whole lot of sashimi, sushi rolls, hibachi scallops, shumai, strawberry ice cream, etc. Everything was delicious. The sashimi tasted great, and the sushi rolls were filling, though thankfully, Kintaro doesn't go too heavy on the rice. I thought the hibachi scallops were better than a lot of non-AYCE hibachi restaurants. They were tender and flavorful, and if I wasn't absolutely stuffed from the sashimi and sushi, I would have gotten another order of scallops. Like always, the service was great, and the staff was friendly. Our server frequently checked up on us and refilled our waters. So glad that you can still get a reasonably priced, delicious, and beyond filling meal here, even during these times of economic uncertainty.

Everything tasted fine, so we just assumed it was a communication issue. So we came back, this time it had a quarter of the menu and the quality took a sharp dive. Pretty amazing since it had been less than a week. Most of the menu was missing, our waiter seemed clueless, nice but clueless. I've never been to a hotpot that didn't have quail eggs all day. All the grill meat came out frozen, the cuts were thin and bad. The green peppers tasted like the blade that cut them, dry and metallic. I don't know that was way too wild a swing in quality we won't be back. We can't win with hotpot in Ohio it seems, for how much hotpot is in the US, I expect better than this. Kpot is still the worst but this last time at Kintaro is up there. Guess I'm looking for another hotpot place. It was clean and organized, the floor is in bad shape in the dining area but other than that it didn't feel dirty or unkempt.
