    spicy mozzarella dog

Definitely my favorite Korean corndog in Berkeley! Seoul Hotdog is conveniently located in Northside Berkeley right across from the engineering buildings on Cal campus. I love stopping here for a quick bite after lecture. The food is so good and comes out super quickly. I love that this spot is nestled between a bunch of other places; so I can get food here and maybe a drink or a sweet in close proximity too! I always get their spicy battered mozzarella dog with regular breading or cubed potatoes on occasion. SO DELISH! The cheese is perfectly melty and I love the batter. Very flavorful and perfectly compliments the cheese. I usually get mustard and spicy mayo to dip as well :) Overall, a cute spot with quick service. If you have a specific craving for Korean corndogs or just want a really tasty fried food, you gotta come here!

I didn't expect the best Korean corndogs I would ever have this far to be tucked away in the very back of a food hall in Berkeley. When we came it seemed like there was only one lady who took our order and one guy cooking in the back, but the store was pretty much empty so there were no issues there. The decor and signage consist (lovingly) of quotes poorly translated into English, which means the food is undoubtedly going to be either authentic or delicious or both. Our order, a sweet potato covered mozz/sausage dog and regular sausage dog (both with sugar) came out to just over $14 before tip -- not off the mark for the standard K-corndog price range. I haven't seen sweet potato as a coating before, so I was willing to shell out the extra fee and it was absolutely worth it. The subtle sweetness from the potato was enhanced with the sugar coating, and when topped with the sweet and sour sauce + honey mustard combination I was pretty much in heaven. The coating on the regular dog was crunchy and chewy as well. Definitely make the stop by for corn dogs that rival the big names.

My first Korean Corn Dog..no words, just epic cheese pulls and full-belly smiles! Tucked away near Cal Berkeley, you'll find Seoul Hotdog - a family-owned spot specializing in this delicious Korean street food snack. We learned the batter is made with rice flour, wheat flour and panko crumbs, making this a bit different than your typical cornmeal treat. You can add additional toppings to the batter which is super fun - we did one with regular potatoes, which was the perfect blend of a hot dog & fries in one bite. We ordered one with a sweet potato crust - the perfect union of sweet and savory. And last but certainly not least, we ordered the Mozza & Sausage which I'm still thinking about currently! Think juicy meat hugged by warm, goey cheese..is there anything better? They give you an option if you would like your dog rolled with sugar, and next time I would love to try the sweet potato that way! There's also several dipping sauces to pair with like honey mustard, ketchup, sweet chili sauce, sriracha mayo and more. The sauces look like little milk utters/upside down bottles, which I thought was a clever touch! Pairing the honey mustard with the regular potato and the sweet chili on literally everything was how we rolled. All in all, I can't wait to come back and try more flavors like the all Mozza version! FYI there are also veggie options too. Such a fun spot to tuck away with friends or solo - kind service, great value and an overall, awesome product. Well done! So

Want to try the food court and I really had to try the corn dog! Had to try the sweet potato corn dog. You can get it without the hotdog in it or with just cheese! I was a little disappointed because the cheese did not melt or stretched the way it showed on the video and the photo. it was OK. The lady behind the counter was helpful knowing it was my first time trying a fancy corn dog with a twist. lol it's small inside for seating but lots of shared seating outside. That's expected for a food court.

Korean corn dogs are so good, so filling, craveable ! I'd compare this with an analogy; When the Japanese took over the American car market by making uber reliable cars, the Korean's have done this with the Illinois invention of the corn dog. A hotdog on a completely different level! If you love corn dogs as much as I, this is a must try!

I decided to give them a try while looking for dinner in the food court on Hearst. I ordered a veggie mozza and then wandered off for a while, then was gently chastised by a worker when I returned because my order had been done for a while and they'd been calling out my name multiple times - sorry again! This was my first time I had a Korean style hot dog, so it is certainly quite sweet (as you can guess from the sugar coating on the outside) but also had thick dense cheese in the middle, but I like the crunchy crisp outside. If you like cheese sticks but with some more crunch, this would be a good option. The veggie, rice cake, triple cheese, and veggie mozza were their vegetarian options at the time I visited. The court has some tables you can eat at, but it's also close to the north side of UC Berkeley campus if you want to find other spots to eat outdoors.

food 9/10: The crust of the hotdogs were so crispy!! I definitely recommend getting the sweet potato crust because it's so unique and adds a hint of sweetness to the hot dog!! Also I recommend eating it right when served so the cheese pull is super satisfying. As for sauces, I paired the mozzarella hotdog with sweet chili and some honey butter powder and it was so yummy!! service : 10/10 The cashier was so nice and the food came out after around 8 minutes!! ambience: 10/10 The store has a little bit of seating both outside and inside. It felt so cozy and clean so I definitely recommend going here for hangouts w friends

Tried the sweet potato half and half corn dog! Added sugar, ketchup, honey mustard, and it was soooo yum. I lowkey didn't realize how large it was until trying to devour it and getting made fun of by my friends for being a 'slow eater'. This spot really curbs the craving for authentic Korean corn dogs. However, my friend had a traumatic experience (he got the hot cheetos corn dog with sugar), so learn from his mistakes. Would knock off half a star for uncomfy chairs :(

My go-to place for a quick and easy lunch! I go at least twice a month. My usual is potato crusted hotdog, and it's so good. The outside is crispy with chunks of potato. This time I brought my sister for the first time to try it and she got the pepper jack and sausage one, she enjoyed it as well. Compared to other Korean hotdog places, I really appreciate the fact that asides from the sugar, you can add the other condiments yourself. For me, the hotdog is filling so it's very worth it! Love the lady who works there, she's so sweet and always smiling!! The place itself is super cute but only has a couple tables, although there are more tables in the courtyard area too. They always have one tv playing kpop MVs and another with a mukbang for Korean hotdogs.

One of the best Korean Corndogs I've had. They were decently priced and larger than I expected! I came on a Friday afternoon and it was fairly busy. I ordered the Mozza & Sausage. One corndog was very filling. I liked how the cheese and sausage were evenly dispersed. Their sauce dispenser was so cool!! Mess and hassle free. Will definitely be back for more!

For years sports media pundits have attempted to articulate what it means to be elite: the killer mentality that separates the great from the greatest -- the ephemeral, elusive, hidden "dog" that resides within only the greats. Does your favorite have that dog in them? Perhaps we see this dog as a Doberman, a husky, or a great hound -- but I have discovered the truth for which there is no question: the "dog" is the one and only Seoul Hot Dog. Seoul Hot Dog is a pure, primal, sensual experience. Just as the mantra on the wall tells me that I am beautiful both inside and out, my insides and outsides were truly filled to the brim. To describe the flavor would be akin to cultural annihilation, the destruction and simplification of a truly human essence. Indeed, the dog which you choose can be described as nothing short of your brother, a fellow human in which you engage with a holy communion -- you caress the dog, you softly embrace the dog with the warmth of the sugar (optional), and delicately shower it in your choice of condiment with the squeeze of a delicate udder. A firm tug on that condiment teat reminds you of your own humanity. You are the dog. The dog is you. And we all can have that dog, in us. Amen. Adog.

I am glad I took a chance on this place because the whole experience was great. I called a couple hours before and was able to reserve a table for 2. Being unfamiliar with the area I didn't anticipate parking being hard to find, but after circling the block once, we found a spot. We were greeted warmly by staff and quickly seated. The decor was nice; great ambiance; large bar with a lot of tv's (perfect for watching the last game of the NBA finals, as the Knicks won). We both ordered the raspberry lemonade. I have been a huge fan of fresh handmade lemonade lately and it did not disappoint. Fresh, tart and sweet. A little too tart for my GF's taste, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. Appetizers were the Millionaire's Bacon and Cheesy Gyoza. The bacon was soooo good. 2 perfectly cooked pieces of thick cut bacon with its sweet, sticky coating that was well balanced and not too sweet. Cheese and Gyoza with bell pepper is a combination I didn't know I needed. It was a pairing that was full of flavor and left us saying "OMG, WHAT THE". Great start for the meal. The Club Moco was calling my name, and I'm glad I answered back. Every element of the dish was cooked perfectly. The gravy was full of flavor and made the dish. Everything together was so complimentary and made every bite so enjoyable. My GF ordered the G.I. Fried Rice. The table side presentation was really cool as it came plated on a cast iron plate and the egg that's usually scrambled and mixed in the rice, was poured around the plated rice allowing you to scramble and mix however you like. I only had a couple bites and can say that I would be happy to order that dish as my main course next time. The mix of the rice, more candied bacon, spam and kimchi was full of flavor. I have never heard of this restaurant and am thankful to Yelp for helping me to look up places so easily where I was visiting. The only thing that surprised me is that I thought that place should have been packed. Service was great, ambiance was great, food was great and the NBA finals was on. I imaging this would be a great place to watch World Cup matches. Highly recommended! Go check it out!
