    Party Tray C

I ordered a last minute delivery from Sushi Nova and got their party tray C as a supplement for a small party. This won't be my last time ordering their party trays that's for sure. I was impressed by the quality of the rolls and it was so convenient with the delivery. The tray has a good variety of different rolls, perfect for a get together with friends. All the rolls tasted fresh and were neatly presented. I think one tray is enough for an average of 3-4 adults.

Definitely hits the spot when craving sushi! I went here with my husband and we got hot sake and sushi. Portion size was perfect and the sushi was delicious. We also got one "hot" sushi that was baked and that was my least favorite, but still good flavor.

Probably the best AYCE sushi I've had so far. Great tasting and the price is not too bad I think it was $30 a person which is worth it if you have big appetites. It's also super cute in there and quick service. (We purposely ordered enough to get the boat plate, that was our goal LOL!)

Service was fast and sushi was delicious! Bring at least 4 people so you get enough each round for the boat. I probably ate 5 lbs of sashimi. The also did a great job at accommodating allergies and making sure our allergy free rolls were separated from the rest. This place also had the best early 2000's music. It was seriously the cherry on top. It's a nice, casual restaurant. Loved how many appetizers were included in the AYCE sushi deal. Would definitely come again!

Stopped into Sushi Nova for a quick to-go order and decided to give it a try since they've got a big menu and even an all-you-can-eat option. The service was relatively fast and efficient I was in and out without any issues. Unfortunately, the fish quality just wasn't great. The texture felt a bit off and not as fresh as I'd hoped for. It kind of had that typical "mid-tier sushi spot" feel, plenty of variety, but the overall execution was just okay. For the price, it's fine, you definitely get what you pay for. It's a decent option if you're nearby and want something quick or affordable, but if you're after higher-quality sushi, this probably isn't the place.

    Staple found in sushi

I rarely write reviews. I almost never write a bad review. But this place truly deserves zero stars. They served me a piece of sushi with a very large staple hidden in it. Incredibly dangerous and completely unacceptable. And when I showed them the staple, they hardly had any reaction--as if this were a common, trivial issue they encounter all the time. They took 15% off my $30 bill. I don't think anyone is interested in saving a few bucks at the risk of eating or getting cut by a sharp (and probably very dirty) staple. I would strongly recommend staying away from this restaurant.

Love that there's an AYCE sushi place in the Loop. They have a another location in Lincoln Park too! Typical AYCE sushi app, sushi, and dessert menu (so I got my faves like the shumai, crab rangoon, miso soup, seaweed salad, and a few rolls and tons of nigiri pieces) but also some more unique options like Tuna Avocado Tartare, Carpaccio Samples, Cocount Shrimp, poke bites, etc, and for every roll you order, you can get 3 pieces of sashimi! Nice place for dinner with a group--it's quite spacious. You can catch a sports game on the TV. Also quick service! They have a bar so it is NOT BYOB, though their Lincoln Park location is still BYOB to my knowledge.

Didn't get to try the AYCE in store, but my friend got two takeout party trays for her bday!! We had Party Tray A and Party Tray C. Party Tray A includes the spicy kani roll, spicy salmon roll, spicy tuna roll, spicy 2 in 1 roll, and Chicago roll for $41.95 as of July 2025. Party Tray C includes the dragon roll, fire dragon roll, color dragon roll, and angel dragon roll. While all the sushi tasted good besides the one with the wasabi infused ikura on top, it was a bit mushy. Definitely quite affordable though - and you're paying for what you get. I'd get this again for a party just for the price, but meh if I'm paying a la carte per roll.

Ate here back in June after running a half marathon. Honestly, I really enjoyed my time and the wide menu selection to choose from. We were one of the first customers at the restaurant that day and the server was very quick to receive our orders in send us our food in a timely manner. Additionally, it came with dessert at the end which was a nice bonus. It definitely felt like I got my money's worth and next time I'll try different items!

I almost decided to save Miru for our next visit, but I'm glad I made time for breakfast here on our departure day. Located inside the St. Regis Chicago, the restaurant offers beautiful views. The service was excellent--attentive, friendly, and professional. I ordered the Tokyo Breakfast. The salmon was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with rice, a soft-poached egg, and salmon roe. The miso soup was slightly salty on its own, but it worked surprisingly well when enjoyed with the rice toward the end of the meal. Overall, a memorable breakfast experience. I'd love to return and try the lunch or dinner menu on my next trip to Chicago.

The sushi is phenomenal, as were our drinks... but the other entrees are disappointing. The karaage and duck yakisoba in particular in quality could be from any corner restaurant in Chicago. The service lends itself more casual, and I noticed they were consistently quite slow to clear our table. I don't think people come here for the food as much as the views. Overlooking Streeterville from this angle and vantage was truly jaw dropping and for this reason I still strongly recommend Miru.

My only critique is the pacing. Since the chef already had the fish sliced and prepped, I expected a smoother flow, but the meal took about an hour and a half for 14 pieces of sushi. It felt a bit slow, especially for a lunch service. That said, if you're looking for a reasonably priced omakase with quality fish, this is a solid choice.

Both were great. Our bartenders were lovely and very friendly. Found out this is a Malort tasting room and we were able to sample some different Malorts (the cocoa one was good!). Then we were taken back to our table for dinner. Our server was super friendly as well. Started with the miso soup and crispy tuna bites which were probably my favorite dishes. The taki yoki fritters weren't bad either. We saw people getting omakase, so we ordered a yummy looking piece they were receiving. It was just okay (chutoro truffle). The nigiri was also okay. The tuna piece was the only I really loved. The fish quality wasn't as high as I was expecting. The sushi was decent. A little too much truffle in the spicy blue fin tuna and a little too vegetable forward in the hamachi serrano. All in all, the atmosphere and amazing service pushed this up to a 4 for me.
