This Sephora location is by far the best one I have been to! I have been to locations in San Diego and Orange County and this is my favorite store! The ladies here are very friendly. I love the location inside Downtown Disney! This review is for Raelle. She did a consultation and application with me and she is PHENOMENAL!!! She truly loves what she does and it shows. She is a true artist. I wish I could give her way more than just five stars!!! She took my vision and made it a reality. Every time she applied something to my face, she explained what she was doing and why. I love that! Raelle took the extra time to make everything look perfect. She got creative during the process and I loved the results!! She is also a really cool person to talk to. I cannot say enough good things about her!! Avoid making returns at this Sephora. It takes 2 hours to park, go tru security, walk through the hoards of people just to get to it, and compared to other stores the customer service isn't there. I came in to make a return and even tho I had a Sephora rewards card that has my purchase history on it...Even though it had been less than Less than 30 days... I had to leave with store credit even tho my original purchase was on debit/cash.I couldn't even be given a valid reason.. I was just told to come back with the original purchase receipt(that states I paid cash) Originality 27$ was paid for on debit and the rest of the transaction was cash. But I was given back 64$ on debit & the rest as store credit. I didn't want store credit . I wanted back how I paid. I had to return the next day with my original receipts to sort this issue out. . Then what is the point of the rewards program if it can't be used to look back into my purchase history? I had to come back twice for a total time of 4 hours of Walking through Disney parking lots, security, etc. Employees were not rude or condescending they were just completely incompetent and offered no compensation or even a sorry that they just wasted 4 hours of my life.. read more

The selection at this location is much better than the one in Brea. Also the staff is a lot friendlier since some ladies are a bit stuck up at the Brea location. Any questions regarding the cosmetics and the staff are more than willing to help you out. I always spend so much money at this place. I look at the receipt and cry in the inside for a bit but love how the cosmetics don't make you look like you are wearing a cake on your face in comparison to * cough * MAC. When I did ask for help, the ladies were not very helpful. They were too busy chit-chatting. Besides that, I always find what I need & because I am a beauty insider, I receive perks often. I adore this store. I try to come in on weekdays to avoid the crazy DtD traffic on weekend nights, but it is great that they are open so much even on weekends. I've always had great service here. I've never had to get much help because usually I just like to browse, or already know what I need, but some day on a less-crowded day I might come in for a consultation. Great Service Story: I had been searching for a sold out makeup palette over the Christmas Season, and the store in Main Place Mall didn't have it anymore, so they called the DtD location to see if they had it and had them hold it for me. I ran in to get it that night, but turns out there was a mix up and they were also out of the one I wanted, and had put the wrong product on hold. Instead of just apologizing, they gave me a travel size of a Tarina Tarentino primer as consolation, even though I wasn't purchasing anything else! So nice because I wasn't even upset about it and had expected them to be sold out anyway. There is the occasional time I come in here for a specific product and it's out of stock; but that is rare. If something is run out on the shelf area, the salespeople can usually pull more out of the drawer or even the back for you. One negative is that they never give me samples, maybe because they run out or because they forget. If I ask and they are out, I have them make one of a perfume I am lusting after. Another negative is that they seem to have to work really hard at loss prevention: the try-mes are often missing from the shelves when the resort is overrun with school groups in the spring. The best reason for me to come here though? The twice-yearly discount for Disney Cast. The 20% off makes a big difference when I need to refill my daily makeup staples; a couple years ago I was working late both days of the discount and they were sweet enough to process my transaction over the phone while I was on break so I wouldn't miss out! read more

What girl does not love Sephora? I get most of my make-up here and most of my gifts here too. It's a one-stop shop since they also have a great selection of cologne for men. Also, I never have to wrap my gifts because they always give you a gift bag and bright red tissue paper! I recently came in and saw one of the staff work on a TON of little girls. She worked so well with the demands of their mothers being picky and touching the makeup and messing things up. Her name is Thuy Linh, and she had sooo much patience and did an AMAZING job on all the girls. I quickly made an appointment with her and she's been my go-to girl ever since. She's super knowledgeable and sweet. She'll definitely take care of you! My favorite thing here are their gift kits. They make my life so easy! I can get a nice brush kit or eye shadow pallet at a great price. For father's day, they offered a cologne sample kit, and inside was a voucher for a larger size cologne at no additional cost. It was such a brilliant idea for my picky dad. Love this store. read more

I have gone to more than 10 Sephora stores up in the Bay Area. I have never reviewed them because of the less than poor customer service every time I shop in any of them. Reviewing these stores will just irate me and 1 star is way too good for these stores (Yes, I'm talking to you Valley Fair Sephora--you are the worst of all). I always order online because I love the products but don't want to deal with bullcrap snobby attitudes that come with my cosmetics. Now back to Downtown Disney Sephora. There was only one lady working there that was really friendly. Other than that, this was probably one of the worst experiences I've had at a Sephora. When I first walked in, I was greeted and asked if I needed help, but I felt like a few of the girls were hovering because they thought I was going to steal something. When I asked the girls questions about skin care products, it seemed like they had very little product knowledge. The staff seemed very low energy and I could tell that most of them didn't want to be there. When I asked for samples one of the girls seemed bothered and didn't know anything about the specific product. I spend a lot of my hard earned money at Sephora, as I am a VIB Rouge member. My first stop is always to the Philosophy section so I can over spray myself with "Falling In Love", though I wear it everyday, I can never get enough! The store is always crowded, but never the registers.. Don't get me wrong, all Sephoras have welcoming customer service but the one here at downtown Disney has never disappointed. Ever. Everytime I come here I'm helped immediately. If I ask them to test something on me to check if it matches or to see if it's flattering, they don't hesitate to put it on me with their professional brushes, or give me suggestions. They're pushy, but just the perfect amount. Their employees seem knowledgable about every product I have questions about. I came in the other day asking an employee (forgot his name but he was male) asking about what foundation would suit my skin type. He listed pros and cons for the ones he suggested and didn't hesitate to test it on me. At other locations, some employees would just brush me off if I asked them to match me to a product. OR, they were too pushy. Or they suggestion a shade that was way too light or dark. I just think that it should be a priority for the workers to be knowledgable about the products they sell and this sephora has definitely got that factor. Can't forget to mention the nice Disney ambience outside the store! read more

I love sephora! I could spend days swatching all the pretty colors and shiny things here. This particular location is huge, well kept, beautiful, and they carry almost everything you could possibly want from sephora. The ladies that work here are super nice and very informative. They are wonderful and are super helpful! My only hold up has no bearing on the store itself just it's location. Downtown Disney is the epitome of misery. Parking is impossible, tourists are unbearable, you have to hike through this sea of Disney to get to it, and if you wanted to grab a bite while you're there then you're going to pay a huge makeup for everything because you're in the land of Disney Tourist nightmare. read more

I love Lizzie. I went through a hard time with finding the perfect foundation that matched my skin tone. Other stores tired some and I had to go back and return them because it was just way off. Lizzie on the other hand, she took the time running around the store picking out a matte and oil free foundation. She tested over 10 foundations and actually had me walk to natural lighting and double check the foundation because the lighting in the store makes a total difference. When we found the perfect one she taught me how to contour. I was very happy with my purchases and the customer service Lizzie offered. Sadly, a week later it broke. Yes, barely even used. I went back and asked them if there's anything they can do. I brought back the receipt to show I did buy it there and when I bought it. Next thing I know, they said I can bring in the broken pieces in and exchange for a new one. I honestly love their customer service. I don't shop anywhere else for makeup because their service is amazing. I will defiantly be back. read more

i go to this Sephora often since I'm a cast member at Disneyland and i always get great customer service and help from the muas. I've seen the store packed as heck especially when there's cast member discounts and the workers are still friendly and on top of everything!! however the last couple times I've gone they've been extremely rude. I was shocked to have received such bad service since I've never had a problem there. Specifically, this girl named aisling, DO NOT go to her for help. I think she's a manager or has a higher up position than most of the girls there but I'm not sure how with her unfriendliness and moody attitude. Went in one time to get foundation for a special event and asked her what she recommended for something that'll last all night and have full coverage. she proceeded to tell me that i should not be wearing foundation at all since i had bad skin and that i needed to invest in alot of skin care instead of buying makeup, and kept making remarks about my face. It was just extremely rude and unprofessional and she kept rolling her eyes and making faces. i would say I'm pretty intermediate in my knowledge of skincare/makeup and it's application, but obviously don't know as much as the employees do that's why i ask for help ! Aren't you supposed to be selling people products instead of insulting and making them run out the store ? Overall you're degrading someone and it made me feel a bit insecure and got embarrassed from those around who heard her practically insulting me, but i brushed It off afterwards. I still think this is a great location with lots of variety and helpful girls that have some of the best makeup looks !! however this situation made me feel uncomfortable and disrespected. read more

Disappointed in their customer service for returns/exchanges. I received a Kat Von D pallete as a gift and they refused to exchange or issue store credit, insisting that I needed a receipt, even though other locations I shop at are always understanding and offer solutions. I visited this location because it was one of the few that had the Fenty Beauty foundation in my shade (290). I was greeted right when I walked in and was asked if I was shopping for anything in particular. After informing the employee that I wanted to purchase the foundation, she offered to test it on my skin, since the foundation does indeed oxidize once applied. The employee was incredibly helpful and answered all of my questions, and she made sure that I was getting the shade that matched my skin tone. Once we figured out my shade, she offered to apply the foundation on my entire face rather than just a small area. I told her that it would be great because I was going to enter Disneyland to get my AP photo taken. With that said, she not only applied the foundation, but then offered to add bronzer so that I could have some color. I truly appreciated her exceptional customer service skills! The consultants are extremely helpful not to mention super friendly. They really take their time to find what you're looking for and make suggestions on products that would help your needs. They regularly have stock unlike other sephoras around the area & they have alot of stock that I haven't been able to find elsewhere. I find that i like to be it mainly because i do use it for performance and i have to say that i rather like this place it has a wide selection of everything and since i don't wear it often i do like to get good quality stuff, so it will last and i won't forever be buying makeup every time i have a show.. Plus i have to say that store it rather cute it doesn't look like something that just came out of a photo shoot on a Movie.. My favorite Sephora location in the world! Sorry Costa Mesa! Take that Tokyo! What now Las Vegas! In your face Bay Area! But seriously here's why: The store located inside South Coast Plaza had a decently sized store, but the workers were a little off putting. The Sephora in Tokyo was waaaayy too expensive. I mean I understand that Sephora has high end make up and everything, but wow! Never in Tokyo...I will never buy the make up in Tokyo. Next up, Las Vegas The location was convenient, however, no one was very helpful and the ones I talked to did not seem to know much about the products I had questions about and product knowledge is very important to me. Then there's the Bay Area There really isn't too much wrong here. I have only been to four Sephora locations in the Bay Area and the workers seemed nice and knowledgable. Oh how I love Sephora! This place has almost everything I need; and a girl can never have enough or too much makeup. As most Sephora shoppers already know, they carry a huge variety of brands and products. They have their own makeup line as well. When you're in the store, you're free to try on whatever testers they have out, which is a lot. However, this location is a little bit smaller and they don't seem to have everything in stock like some of the other ones I've been too. read more

I've gone in there a half a dozen times this year and was always given samples of the perfume I asked for! I loooooove that I get samples , gives me the chance to try new things (my skin is so delicate is frustrating at times). They are not the greatest here when it comes to matching foundations tho. They always matched me soooo much darker, so I usually have them make me a sample of the one that I think is the closest to my complexion to try at home (the flourecent light is not a friend when it come to that, lol). Makeup is limited but worst of all is that I had to pay $10 parking just to go and exchange for the right color. It's location is in downtown Disney so no matter what you have to pay. But as an employee who deals with many customers myself, I believe that excellent customer service should never go unnoticed! A little background, prior to my purchase, I had never owned a single makeup product, nor had I ever applied any. I was absolutely clueless, and honestly, scared to go into any beauty store because I had no idea what I needed or what certain products were for. I decided to make my first purchase at the Sephora located in Downtown Disney. I was careful to choose which employee to ask for help; I wanted to be assisted by someone who would be understanding, full of patience, and sociable. And oh my goodness, I found the right person! Sarah G. was soooo awesome and extremely sweet! I explained my situation to her, and she took the time (approximately 2 hours) to help me find all the products I needed, matched several products to my skin tone and type, and demonstrated to me how to apply a full face of makeup. She made my experience wonderful, and truly unforgettable! I left Sephora feeling confident, beautiful, and knowledgeable! When I use to work for the resort I came here all the time to buy makeup, brushes, and gifts for other people. They have a nice selection and the people that work there are very friendly. I LOVE this store. I have annual passes to Disneyland so I go a couple times a month and always make a stop at Sephora. I've never had bad service, I always end up having conversations with the employees because they come up to ask about my makeup. maybe that's why I get the attention but either way, I am always treated exceptionally well here. If an employee, usually a new one, forgets to put in my samples, I just politely ask what samples they currently have and they quickly pull them out and ask which I'd like. The store is clean, well stocked, and not too busy so I'm always checked out quickly. This last time I went, last week, I asked for samples and was told they didn't have any of the normal ones but that she would be happy to make some for me. Again, after she asked about my eyeliner and eyebrows lol. She gave me two perfume samples, and went and made two mini tub samples FULL of Nars primer. I've never gotten so much haha, I don't want to say her name because I don't know if she could get in trouble for all she gave me. I love Sephora! This Sephora chain is great, because it is large, it's located in Downtown Disney, and the make up artists are awesome. I went in a few weeks ago with my sister and had some questions on makeup. Emma, the make up artist I spoke with answered all my questions on how to moisturize my dry skin, and also helped me and my sis find a powder that would work with our skin. She also got us a bunch of samples to try. If you are looking for make up, and the parks are over crowded, I would come here to walk around.
