It felt like most of the employees were more interested in standing around talking to each other than helping customers. I honestly felt like only one employee was actually working and ringing up customers while everyone else was standing around doing who knows what. It also took an unusually long time for someone to bring over a key so I could look at a cologne I was interested in purchasing. With so many employees on the sales floor, you're telling me not one person could step in and grab a key for the associate helping me? To make matters worse, there was a line of customers waiting to check out, yet only one cashier was working the register the same employee who was also waiting for someone to bring her the key. No one else seemed willing to step in and help, which made the wait even more frustrating. This team definitely needs better training and much stronger customer service skills. I was extremely disappointed with my experience and ended up leaving without buying anything, even though I had planned to purchase several items. To make matters worse, the store didn't even have any cologne testers available, making it impossible to try the fragrances before buying. I've been a loyal Ulta customer for years and spend a significant amount of money there, but this is by far the worst Ulta location I've ever visited. I would not recommend this store to anyone. Save yourself the time and visit another location where customers are treated with respect and where employees understand the importance of providing quality customer service.

PRODUCTS: I love that unlike Sephora, Ulta has cost-effective options in a separate section. Some of the products can be tested, but unfortunately not all. That's my only qualm. PERFUME SELECTION: Ulta in-person only has a select few designer brands (Prada, Gucci, Marc Jacobs, Chanel, etc) compared to Sephora of which has an entire wall dedicated to every single line of a vast amount of perfume brands. However, I specifically came to test the brands I mentioned above & appreciated the little cup of coffee beans to recalibrate your sense of smell. Recommendations: Prada Paradoxe (lovely packaging & invigorating scent) and Gucci Bloom (one of the most beautiful floral scents I've ever had the joy of experiencing). Honorable mention to Kate Spade New York & Marc Jacobs Daisy Love (my fave scent ever but it just doesn't stay very long). DESIGNER MAKEUP: You'll find the popular designer brands like Tarte and Clinique. Tester items are always stocked & it can't just be me who enjoys having a little "makeover" by sampling products on my bare skin. She explained the benefits of each product, they key ingredients, and how to use them. All of Lather's products are made without synthetic fragrance, artificial colors, parabens or sulfates. So if you have sensitive skin or are just looking for cleaner beauty products, this brand may be just right for you! Their packaging is also made with sustainable materials, and that is important to me as a beauty consumer. I also appreciate the fact that most of their products are moderately priced. You can find comparable products at Sephora or Ulta priced at $10+ more. I purchased the Ultra Light Face Lotion which is a daily moisturizer that is a non-greasy formula which quickly absorbs into your skin. The Manuka Honey Body Butter smells amazing and I wanted something ultra moisturizing for my dry legs. It's a shame I don't live closer to this location, but there are several good stores & restaurants in this shopping center so I will make it back to 2nd & PCH and Lather to restock on beauty products.

I started getting regular facials with Grace, their esthetician, who has magic hands for facial massage. I have received compliments from friends and family about the improvement in my skin since I started getting regular facials. I have been a regular customer of the store since they started in the late-1990s. I am very thankful that I live within 5-10 minutes of Pro Beauty Center. They also carry cute bags and accessories. We agreed it definitely is not as described and since only a couple days passed, she was able to return it for me, but only as store credit (which is totally fine. I wasn't expecting a money refund) I'm really thankful, Stephanie helped me and came through for me.
