I came here in early December to get my makeup done for a Christmas party I was attending. Tikva was assigned to do my makeover and she was absolutely amazing. I have gotten my makeup done at so many other Sephora and Mac stores, but my experience has never been as thorough and pleasant as this time with Tikva. Tikva took the time to find out what products I was already using and which products I didn't like. She used the information to pick the products she would use and to introduce me to new products that I might be interested in using everyday on my own! No one has been as attentive as she was and I have to say that really made me enjoy my experience that much more. I recently became a VIB so my makeup was complimentary but I didn't leave without purchasing a lot of the products she used because I just loved them! Thank you, Tikva. I don't know if it's just me, but most of the time when I go to this store the employees seem to ignore me all the time. Luckily i know what I'm going for but the few times that I need help, I have to look for someone and it's not because they are too busy with another customer. I went to this Sephora at Westfield Culver City (not in JC Penny) to buy stuff I couldn't buy online when they had a sale (because their website couldn't support customers buying at the same time? Lol), so I kept my discount card and hoped to get discount today in store. Hoping that they would honor the sale, since their website had an error. I went in to look for my usual eyeliner and there was no sign to indicate colors of each stack, so I asked one of the staff that walked by for help and addressed the problem. She didn't apologize for that and asked me what color I was looking for and grabbed it for me. I said "Thank you." She turned away and walked away. That was one thing. At the cashier, I asked if I could use the discount card and explained to the her how I couldn't use it online and tried to show them how many times I tried by e-mails in my e-mail inbox but she only said it can't be used regardless. I asked her if she could ask her manager to help me. Surprisingly, the first person that helped me(with bad attitude) earlier is the manager. She asked the cashier "what happened?" And when she knew I was asking for a favor to get the discount, she just said "No." (Eyes looking at her computer screen and with no expression on her face. I tried to explain my situation, but she just coldly refused. I expected a better customer service skill set from the manager, but I think I was wrong. The cashier asked me if I still wanted to buy what I picked. I said I had no choice, paid and left. This is not the first time I wasn't happy purchasing from this Sephora. The first time was when I wanted to try Fenty Beauty foundation but they ran out of my color, so the staff tried to sell me the color she claimed was the closest to my skin. My sister made an appointment to get her makeup done for her graduation and some lady called on the day of the appointment like 2 hours before her reservation to let her know that there was nobody to do her makeup. Worst Sephora location EVER. Customer service is not even satisfactory for the following reasons. 1) Staff didn't know what products were available for customers to use their rewards points. One rep says, "Oh, I dont know. Whatever is out there in front of you." When I ask about another reward gift when I pointed it out to her, she said, "Oh I dont know what that is." Not a good reflection on knowing your store let alone reflecting how one cares about working at Sephora. 2)No smile received at the cashier line. I can see the big mirror in front of me. I was stumped between buying Ruby Woo at MAC and Rihanna's matte red at Sephora. The only reason I decided on MAC is because I refused to buy from Sephora. This particular Sephora, I have been to three times, and each experience was unpleasant. The most unpleasant for myself probably being the time I was inquiring about foundation. The guy told me that he did not have time to help me (a customer) because there were other customers he had to help. He told me to make an appointment, to inquire about foundation. With a customer in front of him that needed help, he was concerned about helping other customers. Another fun fact-- not once have I been greeted upon entering this store. This is the Sephora store at the mall, not the one inside Macy's! Soo... I have gone twice this past week & have not had the best experiences. I would have given this place a lower rating, but I do not think that is right for the workers that are really helpful. I have gone here multiple times, since it is at a mall that is close to me, but honestly the management here is not that great at all. Expect to wait 15-20 mins to get help from someone, they are definitely understaffed, & I think it has been like this for a long time because there is almost always a wait. I think what is the most sucky thing about this Sephora is that many of the people that work here have attitudes. I don't mind waiting if the wait time is honest, but if you keep asking for help because they told you a few mins & it is now 20mins close to 30mins & they looked bothered that will make you want to leave. I really wanted to walk out (but I needed to be color matched lol). One time after a long wait, they gave me a foundation make over & the guy was dancing trying to be nice - which made up for when a different customer he was helping asked him if he needed to help me (since he had been with them for some time & now someone else in their group wanted samples) & he looked at me & shook his face & hand :( I had a good experience at the skin care area with a girl who was really helpful & she was busy too, but she was respectful with her customers. As I keep coming back for my make up I will either up or lower the stars. But honestly, customers understand you are busy, but don't give them attitude after they have been patiently waiting & it seems many people are also experiencing that. This is the closest Sephora to me, only 5 mimutes away. Visits for me at this location, have all been bad. On Sept 10th, I purchased 2 of the same items that were on sale during WEEKLY WOW, Sept 6 to Sept 12. When I got home I noticed that one of the items was full price. Today, I went into the store for a price adjustment. At 1st there was no problem, but later on I was told that only original item was on sale...... I was do annoyed I ask for my money back. I could have raised the issue with a manager, but I was pressed for time. NOTE TO SELF; take a picture of weekly wow special for future reference, in case you need a price adjustment..... They said only 1 employee was doing color matches . After half an hour of waiting they got irritated when we asked again & said to be patient. I walked into Sephora at the Westfield mall on Friday afternoon. The store had no more that 5 customers with 7-9 employees working the floor. I walked up to a group of 3 women who were talking by the beauty counter and asked for a simple foundation match. Mind you, I had wandered around the store seeking assistance for about 10 minutes until i resorted to this group standing in the corner. The supervisor looked around the store and said "we are already helping 2 customers it looks like, it'll be 15 minutes until someone can help you". I looked at the group and thought, "really?", and went to match all of my own makeup myself, without a single employee asking if they could assist me. Finally, 20 minutes later, i get to the checkout counter where another group of 3 employees are standing and talking. After a minute of me standing at the counter, one of the girls says, "Alright, I'll help her". Never have i felt more stereotyped and rudely treated in my life in a store. I will no longer step foot in this Sephora store and will take my business to ULTA. Avoid the terrible parking and save yourself the afternoon of disservice at this location. read more

Meh. Not good, not bad. Just an average Sephora. I always feel a bit like the employees are pressuring me to buy more products or try stuff out when I don't want to. However, they back off when I tell them no. I got the exact product I wanted and was able to be in and out quickly though. Prefacing this review with the fact that I can't really weigh in on anything other than my experience with the sales associates that help me! I am not at all someone who wears makeup regularly, but when I was informed that some people are capable of using makeup to give their face a bit more shape and structure I, the owner of a very round face, was stoked! Alfie helped me in a totally nice way that didn't make me feel judged or dumb for not knowing anything. He gave me a few pointers and even showed me a tinted moisturizer that didn't cover my freckles, but still evened my skin tone, which has been completely beyond any makeup artist who has helped me before. I've gotten my makeup done here for the past 6 years and I've never had a bad MUA! The store is always busy but there's always enough staff on deck ready to help out and answer any questions. Another thing I like about this location is that they never bitch when you ask them to order something for you because they don't have it in stock. Of course, they're great with samples too. Never fussy and most have heavy hands I also love the weekend classes here. I just wish they had them more frequently. Like at least one class a week. Exceptional customer service here at Sephora. I came in after buying the wrong lipstick a couple of days ago. Danielle was so eager to help and make sure I got the correct product. Unfortunately, they did not have the product in stock. Danielle took me to the cashier area and helped me exchange my item and took care of me getting the lipstick that I wanted mailed to me without any cost towards shipping. Love this Sephora because it's right where I work! I needed a makeover before I went to a gala (which was FAAAAR from where I work) and they managed to squeeze me on the same day. Everyone was super polite and made sure I got what I needed and the cashiers were fast and courteous. The manager at the time was super nice and professional. My makeup artist Leslie was the best! We went a little over the 45 minute time frame but that's because she was very thorough in contouring my face and giving my eyes a good look since I've got monolids. I got a lot of compliments that night. 10/10 customer service for Leslie and I highly recommend her if she's there. read more

My experiences at Sephora have been hit or miss when it comes down to customer service, but this location has consistently been great at asking me if I need anything or recommending products whether it was peffume or makeup. They also have some great gift sets that are perfect for birthdays and Christmas or just to buy for yourself. I had a terrible experience. They placed an online order for me where I used a gift card and coupons for. A couple days later I realized that this order didn't go through. So I didn't receive anything. I involved the store manager Teresa Merchain and wanted her to fix this issue. She promised me to take care of it and to contact me as soon as she can get an update or information. She never has followed up. I always have needed to call her to ask for an update. I came here on Black Friday around 5/6PM and you had 2 (maybe 3, idk if the other one was an employee off the clock or a friend) huddled at the entrance by the perfumes talking. That's fine, I don't care about that, but the problem was that they were standing in the way of an item I was trying to look at and purchase. One of them, a male employee, noticed me and asked if I needed help but I was just trying to compare prices between the regular YSL perfume and the YSL gift pack that I saw online. I wanted to walk out with one of them that day. The whole time he didn't get out of the way so that I could look at the items, he just handed the perfumes to me like if he wanted me to go away so he could go back to talking. He didn't tell me what the prices were or anything. I'm not gonna purchase shit if I dont know what it costs. I worked a few black fridays upstairs at Target so I'm not expecting top notch customer service but that was rude as fuck and I just put that shit back on the shelf and walked out. I hate coming to this store, I always get rude employees with sticks shoved up their ass. I'd rather go to the one inside jcpenney and deal with the smaller selection because at least they acknowledge you over there and actually help you out. While I'm at it, I asked for a fenty foundation match a few months back and the woman that used the face scanner didn't clean it off before placing it on my face. And then the color she suggested was light as fuck and didnt match me at all. I walk out and go to the one inside jcpenney and the girl that did it there was super friendly, made it a point to show me that she cleaned off the scanner, and took her time with me and suggested better matches. I'm surprised this location has such low ratings. My experience of this location is quite worth the 5-star rating. Today on my lunch break I went in to the store and all of the associates were quite helpful: I got color matched for my foundation shade, I got skincare recommendations for my skin type, I came out with numerous samples and they even let me pick up my birthday item even though I'm four months late. I was helped by three different associates, and all three interactions were A+ in customer service. My husband and I visited Sephora looking for some skin care products. We were helped by Gabby, who was AMAZING. I've been in a lot of Sephoras, but I have yet to meet an associate so friendly, patient, non-attitudey and knowledgeable. I had already heard of the Drunk Elephant products, and was pretty interested. Gabby thoroughly explained the differences between products, how they complement each other and how to use the full line. She gave us several samples to take home to try, and we ended up leaving with $170 worth of products. Thank you Gabby! The only person who helped me was a lady with Pink Hair who recommended me a specific primer. This is easily the worst Sephora location in existence. Each time I go in, the people who work here seem to be more interested in social hour, as opposed to paying attention to the customers. I went around Christmas time and was never greeted and felt like I was bothering them just by coming in. I did need assistance and no one ever checked on me, so I left knowing it was worth making the drive to Century City. This store is so clean and staff is so friendly and helpful , makes me want to try on makeup just by stepping in there lol jk I went in to order some spray chalk to color my hair. Very pleased with the stores customer service, One of the employees helped me search for the brand that I was looking for, she went out of her way and checked the drawers and even took the time to go and check in the back room to see if they had the product in stock.
