Kate (one of the managers) gave me an amazing facial, and talked honestly about products she felt would help my skin. Being a total product junkie, she really knew her stuff and Im so excited to try out some of the samples she generously made me...I tried the sleeping mask she had me purchase last night and I woke up with even better skin compounded with the facial. This is the 1st ever Sephora that had someone watch me buy products. You know that feeling you get when someone is staring at you, well that happened. I was getting more eyeliner since I didn't have time to grab some before I left for vacation. I'm in looking for my go-to product of choice but since this store layout is a little different it's taking me longer than usual to find what I'm looking for. Found it! I asked my male gay companion to hold it for me since I forgot to grab a basket on my way in. I was now looking at lip gloss since I wanted a new bottle. So I was using the samples on my hand to find a suitable color. Then I felt it... I felt someone staring. I glanced up after looking at the 4th shade of pink (ladies understand how difficult it is to get the right color for your skin) and I saw a male worker in the fragrance section. So since I caught him staring I decided to be petty and ask for some assistance. He walked over and said he would get someone since he works in fragrance. Good. Do something other than stare at me while I shop. By that time I was irritated and annoyed so I grabbed the products I want and head to the cashier. Give then my Sephora account info, paid then left. I've never felt less of a human while shopping ever. I won't be BLACK here. I want to go back and stare at them working to make sure they're working just so they know how that shit feels. So I was all excited for a very expensive item to be being offered as a pre sale for VIB Customers. I was on it.... ordered that plus a lot of other items to fill my online basket. The order is placed my card is charged. Then I get an email (after my card has been charged) that oh oh... out of stock. So that item was removed from the order. I call to cancel the order. I am assured that it will be canceled. Then another email comes to tell me it is shipping. I call again to make certain it gets canceled. I am promised again it will be canceled. Then guess what... again I see an email that the package is almost here. I call and explain it was canceled. I am told they would call the shipper and have it redirected back to Sephora and I would get my money back. You guessed it ALL LIES. The package arrives. I call explaining the whole issue. Box in hand unopened and am told by Sephora Customer service that I can take the box to a Sephora store and they will give me my money back and take the products I do not want back. In the store they explain they need to open the box. Ok so they open the box and see that all the contents are there then tell me that the can't give me credit because I used PayPal and now the box is open. This has been the WORST experience EVERY so spoke to 4 people all who were supposed to cancel the order. The order came anyhow... then i am told take it to a store ... and the store gives me this lame excuse about PayPal and the can't give me credit so I am STUCK with an order I did not want ... social media here I come to tell all my friends and their friends that all Sephora cares about is saving the sale and they do not care about the customer. This Sephora location is 15 min walk from my house. The store is great, as they usually have everything is stock. But you have to be aware, that this is probably the craziest Sephora in LA, because it's on Hollywood blvd. Even though I come here pretty often, I have never received attention that I like and usually get from Sephora stuff in other LA locations. Maybe because I am dressed casually and just look too invisible for this 'Hollywood location':) Anyway, I prefer to go to Century city, where I don't have to fight for being noticed and can book a makeup class or a makeover, if I have time. read more

The intoxicating smell of perfumes & colognes permeating even in the tiniest cracks on the wall seeping into the Kodak theater... This Sephora I have to say has some pretty attentive staff, they are very nice and helpful making sure your needs and request are taken care of. Their selection of colognes are in abundance, I've sprayed many on their test strips which was almost a sensory overload for my nostrils but thankfully they have the cologne I've been looking for a long time which used to be a Neiman Marcus exclusive... Tere' d Hermes. From curious shopping, spraying and self dabbing, the gal who assisted me did a phenom job, she was very cool without being too pushy about selling their products - she had the right balance of charisma and "salesmanship" If there's one thing I'll comment on is the lack of coffee beans in the perfume & cologne section ( a natural scent neutralizer.) After sniffing quite a few colognes, having this roasted bean wonders could have been really-really helpful. Overall, the service was great, the store is well lit, bright and clean. Perhaps in the company culture and philosophy of Sephora, a company selling "beauty" products for women, there could be a focus on beauty as more than how you look, and most importantly how you feel and the energy you radiate. Worst customer service! No greeting at the door. No eye contact from people on duty. Felt like I was pulling teeth when I asked the woman working at the counter to order a product for me online that wasn't available in their store. Very bad energy all around. Won't go back. MAKE UP AND FRAGRANCE CITY!! I go to Sephora as my one stop shop for my makeup and other girlie needs. They carry the makeup and fragrances that I wear. I can come in here and pick up the items that I need, and also try on some make up to see what works well for me. I love that they have a section where you can take the items that you would like to use and sit down to try them. This is perfect for make up because you never know what works best until you try it on especially for me. The people who work here are better than other Sephora stores that I have been to, they always seem to find workers that are willing to help. I like that they staff according to the needs, so there is always someone walking around to see if you need help, and they are very knowledgeable about the products which is good because I don't want to hear about a product from someone who hasn't tried it. Sometimes the location can get a little crowded on the outside depending on if there is something going on in the area and people tend to just stand in front of the store, but It has never been overwhelmingly bad so that is a plus. When you buy perfume from hear, they also take you around and let you take samples of all the fragrances that you would like to try which is really cool, because if you are a person like me, it may smell good on paper, but on me it's not so flattering. read more

Customer service here can be quite aggressive I know I might be looking at perfume but I don't need 4 assistants come over to me within minutes of the other when I'm happy just browsing on what's there! However one assistant left me to my own devices which as she's was using an eyeliner to draw on her hand and that intrigued me as she was telling me how it was a fine tip which at that point I wanted it as I've never had a smaller tip! Unfortunately after two girls when round the back the store was out of stock but only had the tester , but hey that didn't stop me from continuing with my shopping and buying perfume and a different eyeliner which was perfect as you do not need a sharpener and there's a little gadget on the lid which ensures the tip is always pointy! My other downfall was with all these assistants on the shop floor there was only one person on the till? And there was a queue! After waiting more than 5 mins I was ready to leave without my items but then someone opened a till and I was finally served and ready to go! Also they validate parking in the centre! read more

I'm a fan of all Sephora's as far as I'm concerned. I love Sephora. I love coming into a store and knowing that maybe, just maybe, I'll find that one product that makes my Anne Frank eyes not so deep or my skin not so flawed... and Sephora has every single product imaginable. The customer service at this one though? Not that great. While the greeters are nice, the people who are actually there to help you couldn't be more help to me than a fucking empty box. I mean, really, it's sad that I know more about the products they carry then the employees do. I was looking specifically for a new brand of makeup they are carrying, It's called Lip Tar I believe and it comes in very highly pigmented colors and stays on your lips forever. Either the woman who helped me had no idea what I was talking about or she had no idea that Sephora is now carrying that line. Hey, but this store isn't all bad. It's gigantic, clean, there aren't a bunch of children running around, stealing make up and rolling all over the floor, this is a store with class. SO disappointed I choose to go to Sephora over Ulta for customer service but not anymore. Never ever again. After not being greeted at the door of (what should be) a very nice location on busy Hollywood Blvd I was further disappointed. I bought two items last week and noticed I was double charged. After going in and politely explaining what happened I was stared at with a blank face. She then went to her manager for an excessive amount of time and came back only to tell us she would have to submit a ticket when we had brought bank statements to validate our claims already... all of that with condescending voice. Whatever you do. Do not come to this Sephora. The store manager is named Jen she is so rude HER FULL NAME IS JAQUELINE RUIZ. I come into the store and absolutely nobody comes up too me to ask me if I needed help or a greeting, which is fine. I couldn't find the makeup station I was looking for so I go up to the manager named JEN(Jaqueline Ruiz) she then screams at me saying too wait my turn. So as I'm waiting she comes back and just stares at me and then I was like are you gonna help me? And she then decides to scream at me and says can't you see I was helping someone else. She was not helping someone else. She just stood on the side and waited for 5 minutes. So then I told her that if she didn't wanna help me it was completely fine. She then proceeds to scream at me and says " UGHH hurry up let's get this over with what the HELL do you want". I have never witnessed this type of experience ever. She was screaming at me so bad and talked too me the way she wanted too which I did not allow. She then throws the products and says " HAHA SEE THERE ISN'T ANY OF YOUR PRODUCTS IN STOCK THATS TOO BAD" I then complain to another store manager and they did not do anything about it !!! As soon as I complained about JEN OR JAQUELINE OR WHATEVER HER NAME IS she literally ran out of the store !!!!! I couldn't believe it. I called corporate because this behavior is so bad. Nicely sized store, well spread out and doesn't feel too overwhelming. I went on a Sunday afternoon, and while the street at Hollywood and Highland was very crowded, the mall was more managable and the stores had a steady amount of customer traffic without the feeling of being crazy busy. I was greeted at the door and was able to browse through the entire store peacefully, taking my time and trying things on. My only issue was that no employee ever approached me to ask if I needed help. I usually prefer to shop by myself, since I am pretty well acquainted with makeup from my 6 years in the industry --- but I found myself wanting a foundation sample this time, and was unable to get one because the few employees I saw seemed busy. Not a huge deal, but I was a bit surprised and thought it was worth noting. Nobody asked me at the register if I was helped, either. The girl who helped me at the check out did ask about my Beauty Insider status and gave me the opportunity to pick up my birthday gift and use my points. Very nice store, though. On one visit, I was looking for the Nars radiant tinted moisturizer in St. Moritz. To be fair, this is a popular item and shade, and it was not on the shelf. I looked in the drawer below since no associates were around, and while I was looking, an associate conveniently appears to tell me that I shouldn't be looking in the drawer. Basically, this Sephora location is hateful. It has the Surratt line, which is not carried in all the stores and it also has other brands which you cannot find in other Sephora locations. In another visit, I had a VIB welcome coupon for 20 percent off and I couldn't find it on my smartphone (probably because my cell phone reception was poor inside the store). The cashier wasn't helpful about this. He said that the coupon was expired and in no way still valid. I ended up walking out without my purchase-- I instead ordered same items on my smartphone using the Sephora app and used the coupon code that I eventually had found. WTF? While I would like to give more stars to this location, Sephora does not have consistent customer service. I would rather shop at cosmetics departments at Barney's, Nordstrom, or Bloomingdale's. Too bad because the Beauty Insider program is really great, and sometimes I meet really personable and polite beauty advisors. But all too often my experience has been mixed and I wonder how inclusive a company Sephora is. Perhaps the employees are overworked, underpaid and not treated well, and it shows. read more

Super big Sephora! It was pretty huge when I walked in and I was so surprised. It isn't nearly as jam packed as other ones I've been to like the one at Downtown Disney or the South Coast Plaza one before they moved downstairs. Otherwise, it's just a pretty standard Sephora, nothing else particularly special. I knocked off a star because I felt that the customer service wasn't at the level it should've been at. The woman who rung me up didn't offer parking validation and tried handing me my palette without a bag. I had to tell her I wanted one to which she quickly shoved it in and passed it off to me. I met up with my friend who was being rung up by someone else on the other side and that woman offered her validation, neatly packed her items in a bag and even put the tissue paper in it, and was super friendly even when I stepped up. So I only knocked off a star because it just seems like that one woman who was rushing through me while the other staff were nice. Maybe it's because I didn't buy as many things as my friend did (I bought one Marc Jacobs palette and she had bought the same palette and also two other items), so if that's the case, that's even shittier that you don't get the same treatment as others because you didn't spend as much money. read more

This Sephora location is HUGE! In fact, I believe its the biggest retail store in the West Coast! I love that the gondolas are spread out. If you've ever been to any sale events the open space is something you'd appreciate (Soutch Coast Sephora is pretty cramped). There are tons of vanity stations and the very back of the store also has a dedicated area for their Beauty Classes. The associates here are super friendly, including the security guard at the front. Location is great especially if you find yourself in Hollywood and are in need of products or simply need to touch up your make up or spritz on some perfume. Here for the weekend and felt like being extra pretty so I booked my appointment online. Arrived on time and Denise was my MUA. She didn't cleanse my face first nor did she check my skin type before applying make up. She did a good job on my make up but my lashes could be better. Maybe she had a hard time applying them since my own are very curly. It looks as though they are actually on my eyelid on the corners of my eyes. This location is located in the Hollywood & Highland Center. The staff that helped us were very knowledgeable in the different products and helped to choose what was best. You gotta love a place that dolls your lady up. This Sephora has a beautiful staff that knows the products they have on there shelves very well. We stopped by to pick up the normal "Make Up Forever HD" stuff my lady digs on. The pretty boo helping us out was extremely great in helping my lady fine a deep cleansing scrub by Korres for $30 and offered my lady some samples of moisturizers so she can decide which one had the best results. Checking out at the register my lady was told she has enough points to get a "Pacifica Set" that included the best smelling Coconut Nectar Body Butter Cream ever. Good heads up from the staff, the gift set was a definite steal. The gorgeous guy ringing us up also threw in some John Varvatos, and Polo Black cologne samples for me.
