I must admit when it comes to makeup I like to keep it very simple. Mainly because I truly suck at doing my own makeup haha However every so often I love to have someone do my makeup and teach me how to look even more FABULOUS! A few months ago I became a VIB, and with that I had a complimentary makeover, WINNING! I wasn't sure how the service would be so I decided to book my makeover around noon just incase I didn't like my end result. Upon arriving to my appointment I couldn't find parking so I decided to call ahead of time to explain that I might be running a few minutes late (Which I was, 10MINS). To my surprise I thought the girl on the phone was going to be rude and tell me that If I wasn't there in 15mins they would have to take someone else, but she did not. She was extremely understanding, & friendly. Most places (MAC & Bobbi Brown) I've booked to get my makeup done if you are over 15minutes they will give your appointment to someone else. While walking in I was greeted, asked if I needed helped right away. The girl walked me to the beauty artist who then introduced me to my makeup artist Alisa. First they asked me a few questions regarding my skin type & the look I was trying to go for my makeup. They cleaned & moisturized my face while going through each step explaining why & when things should be done in order to maintain a healthy skin. Alisa, truly did a wonderful job with my Smokey eye look, she showed me step by step so I would be able to do it myself. It was a great experience. After this visit I feel more confident on what I should be looking for my everyday skincare as well as the makeup I want to apply. I will definitely come back here to book another makeover && when I have any questions regarding any products etc.. Which I always will! The line moved very quickly..Cashier, was very friendly. Made sure to ask if I wanted to use any of my points, and made sure I got my Marc Jacobs Birthday gift !

Who doesn't love Sephora? Their staff at every location is amazing and very well trained on makeup, skincare and products. More importantly Sephora is home of a lot of exclusives including this amazing Pat McGrath lipstick- must buy because color is to die for. Plus packaging/ unwrapping is an experience. Thank you to the sales associate that recommended I buy!

Rude associate. Am wondering how did the manager train the employees. Super annoying. Lack of basic common sense.

He is a racist against women and other cultures such as Hispanics and blacks. I went in the store and I was picking out some things and as I was getting them I was bringing them to the counter. But as I was doing that I started to notice that he was watching and commenting on my every move and kept on asking me about why I went back to look at something. I said oh I want to see if you had another color I like. Well, he was making a big deal out of me walking back to get an extra color. Well I didn't even make a big deal out of it. Then I went to grab a shampoo. So I picked up about 3 bottles and I was reading them to make sure I was buying the correct one for my hair type. Well all of a sudden he starts yelling at me about reading all the labels, he said that I was taking to long and that was touching everything. I only touched the items that I was buying. I told him to quit talking to me so rudely and to have some respect and that I was a valued customer and he could not talk to me like that. Then I was paying for my stuff and he had given me the bag and then he ripped the bag out of my hands in a very violent way. It was a horrible experience and I will not be going to leave my money at that rude and racist persons establishment. There are many other beauty supply stores in Hudson country that will gladly appreciate my Buisness and treat me with dignity and respect. I suggest you go somewhere else unless you want to be treated rudely and with disrespect.

Making a reservation is available but I figured we'd be okay as walk-ins especially on a weekday. Upon walking in, we were greeted and felt welcome. Our 'scent specialist' led us to the wall where there's about 11 base scents to smell and pick one that suits our liking. My friend EASILY was able to choose quite a few that she loved. I, however, struggled. Nothing stood out to me. It was either way too light where I can't smell it or way too strong and masculine. I love light florals, beachy, clean/fresh and none of the base scents were any of that. In the end, I settled for "Rae" (smells mainly citrus?) as my base while my friend choose "Reed." After choosing our base, our scent specialist started adding different drops of other scents they believe you'll like on top of your base scent. They combined plenty of different options (like over five different combos). I ended up choosing a mix of hydrangea, geranium and lilac. Sounds good to me...hey, remember I like fresh, light florals. Sadly, even with all the scents of florals mixed in my finished bottle, I ended up only mainly smelling the citrus from my base scent. This was a cool experience but left disappointed. You're essentially mixing pre-designed perfumes/scents together to make "your" blend, you're not creating a perfume totally from scratch. I've read some reviews about weak staying power. I also have a friend who made her own bottle before and also said the same thing. However, I can smell my freakin "Rae" headache inducing scent HOURSSSS later. Go figure, right? The total was about $93 and that's tax included for a 1.7 fl oz. bottle.

Catering to the very rich this parfumerie is from France where the owner's great grandmother anonymously made a perfume for Napoleon Bonaparte. With kindness I was shown around and Naveen described the notes for each of the thirty nine perfumes. This was impressive. From each section, I was given a blotter (strip) and I chose a perfume with oudh. Finally I was asked what perfume I would like to have sprayed on me? I chose Black Jasmine and was also given the pretty catalogue.
