I am a Stickler about Customer Service, I will speak up and Speak Out. Don't Shop at Sephora's. Then don't try to call and complain because they will give you the run around or totally ignore you. They act like they're hard of hearing but if you say I like to make a purchase they hear you loud and clear.@Sephora.com if you think your going to get away with racial profiling I am here to let you know your not. First of all it's bad enough that you profiled my daughter and I in your Summerlin Store here in Las Vegas, Nevada. You also profiled the Hispanic lady and her mother and the ladies who were of Indian decent. Your store clerks couldn't say "hello"or acknowledge our presence , but there was a clerk on every end cap checking and stocking merchandise but couldn't acknowledge us or ask if we needed assistance. What does it matter of the color of my skin have to do with purchasing products from your store? After all money is green and plastic is plastic. You didn't know which method I was using because you clearly was bothered by my skin tone because you wouldn't acknowledge us. Had you taken the time to put merchandise and fair business practices before my skin. Then I would have remained a loyal customer of yours and it wouldn't be no need for me to take the measurements that I am taking to let every woman of color to not shop at your store. Your in business to sell cosmetics not make assumptions, only time you should be judging my skin tone is when your trying to apply the correct makeup for my skin tone. You failed miserably on that because your store racial profiled me and stereotyped my daughter and we walked out of your store with our green dollars and credit cards without spending in your store. I tried to ignore that and I didn't want to believe that was occurring in this day and age considering I had shopped in many other Sephora's and never experienced that, but after calling and complaining and asking for a callback and only to be ignored again it leaves me to believe that your comfortable with this practice. I am going to assume here that one lost customer wouldn't make a difference because you have so many more. Rule#1 in customer service a lost of one is a lost of a million. The icing on the cake is calling your corporate office number (877) 737-4672 is worthless . They spoke pleasantly but couldn't hear or acknowledge worth engaging in . They only fluster you more and make you simply flustered and feeling as if this is our practice take it or leave it!!!!!! Really!!! Are your sure this is your protocol for handling irate or customers who have experienced negative behavior on behalf of your staff. From drawing that conclusion it leaves me to believe your corporation is not interested in my Black Dollars or Black Credit. Now I could have been belligerent in that store but my character is above that and will always rise above that and your unworthy of me getting indignant with. What you are worthy of is letting all women know you stereotype women of different ethnicities but acknowledge white Women, to inform them to not shop in your stores especially that particular store because that's where the negative encountered occurred; but when I called your corporation and you ignoring me is what escalated this complaint to this level. As I stated in the beginning customer service is essential for me to shop in your establishment. I don't patronize businesses who offer bad customer service and especially businesses who stereotype me by the color of my skin (racial profile) . My dollar is just as good as the next and Sephora my dollars are to expensive for your type of practices. read more

I scheduled a makeup makeover to refresh my daytime look/regimen. I had to come back the next day and got makeup artist Liz! OMG - I walked out with a bag full of goodies and learned how to contour like the Kardashians! It was a wonderful way to reimagine my look and to find a new looks that worked for my age. I wish I had made date plans because I looked flawless. She took her time and listened to my needs, showed me new trends and tips without making me look over the top. It took about an hour and I had my entire face redone. She also picked great products and if one wasn't working for me, she took the time to go find another version for my skin and started new. I set up an appointment to get my make up done for a wedding I was going to attend. I never usually pick Sephora, but I wanted to give them a try.l today. Let me tell you Marilyn my make up artist blew it out the park! She was beyond AMAZING! She asked me every single detail about what I wanted and always checked that I was happy with the make up. She was very helpful and so nice. I have had my make up done before at a different Sephora and was not as happy as I was today when I walked out the store. My experience today was far from great. I love downtown summerlin and was looking for a new foundation, so I decided to stop in. I was helped by a representative who first said they didn't have a product for my skin (dry skin) and then said she will show me the best she can do. As she carelessly applied the foundation to my face , she explained how much she hates makeup and how foundation is going to feel heavy and show lines anyway. The foundation was terribly uneven so I asked if I could even it out to make a decision. As I did, she said "ok are you done? Is there anything else?" I was quick to say no and she left. The 3 stars come from the next representative who walked by and was very pleasant to talk to. I asked her opinion on the foundation and she also showed me another great product. I seriously never want to write a negative review. I was thought that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. But yesterday, I felt so small coming into this Sephora branch. I love Sephora, the store, the brands. I just want the manager/s of this branch to look at the employees again and possibly retraining? I went there twice yesterday. The 1st time I was ignored by probably 3 employees. They just looked at me and asked nothing. I literally have to ask someone who was busy working at one corner to help me. Some just passed by me. I thought hmmm maybe they were busy or understaffed. Then, I went back because I was looking for a particular perfume. Ignored again. The lady I asked wasn't helpful enough, she said 'We don't sell Chanel at the store' and never ever offered to help me purchase it online like experiences I had before at other Sephora stores, that if they don't have it in store they were nice enough to order it for you online. If Macy's had the perfume yesterday I would have not gone back to them given that I was ignored the 1st time. I'm sorry to those who were probably nice and great employees. So came in here to see about starting to buy my foundation here because my current target brand kept drying out my face and looking blotchy. I walked into their very busy store and said I was in search of a good foundation and wanted to get color matched. They wrote my name on a list. After 40 minutes I decided to start looking on my own. Not one person in this store of many workers even asked me if I needed any help. And I needed plenty. I ended up trying a Clinique and some Sephora concealer. As far as the color we will see how it goes . Hopefully it works out ok. After not only waiting forever in the store to not get matched. Then the line was forever long and their MPOS or mobile register person starts pulling the person behind us in line . From the back ? So instead of pulling people that have been waiting forever , you pull someone who just got in line . Makes no sense . Worst customer service ever and even though I really wanted to get good quality product and wanted someone to help me pick all the right products I needed, because of the horrible service from start to finish I'll just stick with the same service and cheaper prices at target . read more

You would think that's this is the best Sephora in Vegas since it's located in Summerlin. NOPE!!! Upon reading the reviews, I thought I was the only one disappointed about this store. Went this morning to return some items that I bought online. The cashier asked me if I could get something in the store since I have discount if I purchase something. So I walked around inside the store and looking for eye shadow make up and no one even ask or approach me if I need something. So I finally approach one employee about eye shadow make up and asked her what's good for me since I don't have much knowledge about it. She showed me the eye shadows in Sephora collection and I ask her if she can put on me so I can see if it looks good on me. She then told me that they don't have enough people and if I can wait half hour since the employee coming to do it for me and I agreed. But I was wondering why she couldn't do it to me since the store it's not even busy and there's like 8 employees in the store. I decided to call my make up artist and ask her over the phone which one is good for me and was able to helped me. I also agree with one of the reviews that they only help white skin people and I'm Asian who don't wear make up and not dress up. Thinking of not purchasing from this company and switch to Ulta. Went in to buy make up and have my make up done. There were plenty of associates on the floor. I can't remember if I was greeted when I walked in because I had an appointment so I spoke to the first associate I saw. Anywho, I had my make up done by Wendy she asked me what I was looking for and she delivered. She answered my questions about the make up she used and made suggestions. I had the best experience today at this Sephora. A girl named Brittany (I hope I'm remembering that right!!) helped me. I wanted to purchase a specific mask that they were out of so she made me a tester. While doing that she kept talking and interacting with my 5 year old daughter who is usually really shy with strangers but immediately opened up to her. Once she was done helping me she went out of her way to make my daughter feel special and applied a little gold lipgloss to her lips which is my daughters favorite and made her feel soo special! Because of her I will happily drive out of my to go to this location. I can't thank her enough for making our experience fantastic!! read more

Go see Cassie she is so informative and knowledgeable. She really takes the time to explain each product to you and finds the best product for your type of skin. She even took the time to go over highlighting and contouring with me even after i had a class. There was no pressure to purchase product just simple suggestions for my make up needs. I purchased my brushes, bronzer, blush , powder and foundation all with her assistance and felt comfortable with her. She is also awesome in the mini makeover one on one. read more

This is a pretty good sephora... Not as amazing as the Venetian, but hey, there can only be one! The location is good, on a stretch of Downtown Summerlin with free street parking on both sides. They have a pretty good selection but are missing a few staples. The staff is hit or miss though, Ive gone in some times and gotten amazing help, and someone spending 20 or 30 minutes helping me find something to really suit my skin. Ive also asked for help and been "dropped off" at a product with no demo or assistance. Ive also had to exchange more than a few mismatched foundations. They use this weird camera thing to snap a pic of 3 spots on your face to find your "prefect" match. Its far from prefect. I asked an associate to just match me the old way and they explained to me when you get rung up they take note of getting the camera matched things and they need to get certain numbers. Ive also noticed you have to ask for samples as opposed to other stores that offer them up willingly. I wish they had better customer service, but it beats driving down to the strip or going to the super small Sephora in JCPennys. read more

This store has a great selection, like all of the other Sephora locations. The reason I am giving this store a low rating is because of poor customer service. I have been to this store three times during slow hours and have yet to be greeted. A sales associate saw me walk in today and greeted the person who walked in after me. This same sales associate saw me struggle with the selection (I do not wear makeup, I was gift shopping) and did not offer help. I went to another associate, asked for assistance, and was greeted quite coldly. The previous time I came here I was shopping for lip stains and did not have a clue as to what I should look for. I asked a different sales associate for assistance and in the middle of her helping me, another customer asked for help (which was fine), and then proceeded to walk off to help them and left me by myself. I have a reasonable expectation for the sales associates to be knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. I may have been unlucky and was assisted by lackluster reps but I am not impressed. read more

every single time I come into a Sephora, I'm never acknowledged during the entire duration I'm in their store. no welcome, no asking if I need help finding anything. is it in Sephora employees training to have no type of customer service? 20 minutes of roaming around the store after going through every aisle trying to find Kat Von D section, I finally go up to an employee and ask where it is. I asked for the shade and light palette, none in stock. I tell this woman that the website says this location has it in stock, not claiming she was lying to me considering it's a trendy product, and she gives me THE MOST ATTITUDE and rude snarky remark that I have ever gotten as a customer anywhere. avoiding this rude woman, I asked another employee if I can order it from the warehouse. he says yes, and appoints the rude worker to help me order it. the entire time I'm giving her my information she gives me the nastiest attitude ever, no shock there. not sure what her problem was but I'll never go back to this location. in my opinion every sephoras customer service completely blows but especially this one. read more

I hardly write Yelp reviews, but this incident prompted me to leave a review. I was here on Friday, Feb 12th to exchange an eye shadow for a different shade, as well as to purchase a new lipstick for my mom. The first sales associate who had glasses and had a really pretty shade of grey nail polish on was extremely nice and helpful. However Andrea? the sales associate who decided to take over was incredibly rude and snotty. I asked about samples because I normally order online from Sephora, and even though I had just seen with my own eyes another customer receive a sample, she told me they didn't have any samples available in store except for ones they could make. I honestly didn't even mind that so much, but when I got home and realized that she charged me twice for redeeming a sample (with my points), so now my points balance is -51. I called the store and was put on hold for the longest time, and by then I realized I could just email customer service and hung up. Then I decided to call back for the rude associate's name. Unfortunately I fibbed and said I was trying to give her a compliment instead of a complaint so that they would help me find out her name, and I ended up speaking with the store manager who sounded lovely, and now the store manager is under the impression that Andrea helped me with my customer experience which she did the absolute opposite of. As a previous retail manager I was appalled at her stuck up attitude towards me, which I'm assuming I provoked by interrupting her "chat" with her fellow associates to ask her a simple question regarding the Laura Mercier products in the store. And judging by the rest of the reviews left for this location, customer service is apparently a big issue. I will be contacting corporate as well and intend to leave a formal complaint about Andrea, as well as advising them to take a look at this Yelp reviews for this location. I shop at Sephora.com daily and spend a ton of $$$$. Their claim of flash free, 1 -2 day free shipping is not to be affected by the busy season, is a total lie. It takes them anywhere from 5 days up to 2 weeks for my packages to get shipped and with that being said, once I finally receive my packages, there is no deluxe sample or even sample packets. They cancel my deluxe samples saying that they are out of stock, but yet it is still listed and have gotten it on orders placed after the cancelled orders. The are falsely advertising about deluxe samples and free samples, I guess it is totally at there discretion because I received 5 packages in 1 day and there were no sample packets in any of them and only 2 had deluxe samples. I'm not sure what is going on with Sephora but they need to fix it!! SO FRUSTRATING!! read more

I was unhappy with the service and the testers for all the makeup were dirty and not filled. A young woman that helped me paint my face half with makeup and then stood there. I asked for a sample which she handed me and then walked away. She didn't offer to paint the rest of my face or give me a wipe to remove the makeup. The BB cream I tried made me break out all over. It kind of pains me to give this such a low rating but I'm hoping A) It will matter and someone will want to improve it, and B) that maybe it was an after holidays madness issue that I just happened in on the wrong day. Although with the $$ we spend in here I honestly think it should feel more upscale then it's competition and should be nearly flawless...and the things I saw seemed easily fixable if an associate were looking out for these things (they are NOT all pro make up artists but I get the feeling they all think that's the only reason they are there after this visit). Let me first explain the things I did like.... Pros: 1-Dior makeup display was big and accessible. I thought this was such a nice display (although testers was another issue). It was accessible, they had lots of products from this line, although they didn't have Snow? 2-I liked the perfume separation at this store, and the skin care products on the right side of the store. It felt fluid and sectioned well. 3-I was approached a number of times if I was finding everything okay. And generally the girls seemed like very nice people. Here are the cons: 1- Testers GONE, not functional, or completely empty (i should specify, predominantly makeup products) I was literally shocked at how poorly managed testers were. Now I understand a DAY of crazy holiday shopping or even DAYS on end of crazy holiday shopping, but isn't there an "opening and closing" routine to make sure the store is 100% for the next day? I can't imagine that 3 hours after opening on the day I went in Anastasia brow pencils were missing gone or non-functional. NARs sets were missing, Kat von D testers were missing, Palettes on Display had no photo/tester/sample product out to even have a clue what was inside. I had to open new products a number of times because there was no indication what it actually was via sample/image/or tester. 2- I had 3 different associates come up to me with my hands full and not a single one offered me the little shopping basket thingy. Although, they all wanted me to know they were there to help. 3-No Bobbi Brown, Guerlain??? WTH 4-Felt makeup artists doing makeovers at this mirrored bar area were pretty inconsiderate to the customer traffic of Kat von D, and Urban Decay which directly faces them (this was kind of a poor design in my opinion) nonetheless these ladies should be equally concerned with selling customers on new products AND making sure other customers are able to freely move about actually BUYING products. 5-OMFG the kids... do not come here on a weekend... apparently every soccer mom and her kids are here on the weekends. Or dropping kids off at the shopping area in general and letting them rome about... I know this sounds heartless, but seriously.... ***with regards to the UD product areas... I honestly thought...oh well ULTA is just around the corner, might as well go there to look at UD selection.... So when you have a competitor so close by I would honestly step my game up. Don't just rely on the fact that products don't completely overlap. Disclaimer: I do have VIB rouge status so I do lots of shopping at sephora for their more "high end" make up available, although online selection is much better than in store at this time in my opinion. The crappy part is I do like to spend lots of time testing stuff out which is very fun. Also I am not upset or particularly disgruntled I was just genuinely disappointed. I sense at times in this area people assume they don't have to do the work to maintain a reputation and that's when things go south. I also think I misjudged what to expect out of the general experience of Downtown Summerlin. Don't get me wrong the variety is incredible down there. And I can't wait to hit up Trader Joe's. This was my first trip to the new Sephora Summerlin location, I was so excited there was a closer Sephora to me, and I had high hopes for the feel of this shopping center. So far I'm SOOOOOOO unimpressed with DS in general. For the products at Sephora I'm starting to think I'd rather just shop at Bloomingdales or Neiman Marcus for my high end products, stick to online and or take an infrequent trip out to Town Center. I've had the BEST customer service there. and didn't feel like I had a cheap experience. read more

We recently moved to this side of town about 6 months ago and my daughter and I have been coming to this Sephora on a regular basis. All of the people are very helpful and friendly to us, and there are 2 that are outstanding. If you need help with skin care, definitely ask Julie! She is extremely knowledgeable about all the products and always goes above and beyond to help us with our skin care needs. If you need help with makeup and color matching, Sophia is your girl! She is always spot on with whatever we are needing help with. Now we are spoiled and don't want to go to any other Sephora stores because of how nice and helpful the employees are! read more

This place almost got five stars from me, but let me explain. So I went in for some concealer and they didn't carry it. The lady who I dealt with gave me alternatives but didn't push them on me and also told me where I could go to get that specific kind, which I know is probably frowned upon but I thought it was very kind of her. The next lady I dealt with was in skincare and her name was Carol, she was the sweetest older lady who I probably spent the majority of the time with in the store. If there were more carols around all Sephora's would be 100 times more awesome to go to. She was extremely helpful and educated in what seemed like everything I asked about skincare. I wish I could give carol a five alone because she was great! Up to this point my experience at Sephora was awesome until I go to the lady at the register. She rang me up, made no conversation, and when I told her bye and have a nice day she disregarded what I said and didn't even acknowledge it. Giving her the benefit of the doubt she was probably having a bad day, but you should always at least acknowledge when someone tells you to have a nice day. This last time I was in this store was actually my first time and I am no where near impressed. I walked around lost for about 15 minutes before I had to go up to someone and ask for help. Then I was directed to this girl, and like someone said below me, and I already was ify about her because her own make up wasn't at all what I would expect from a make up artist. She matched my skin tone, which was cool, I have never done that before but everything after that was terrible. She seemed like in a rush to hurry up and be done with helping me and she kept naming all these brands to me like I was supposed to know what she was talking about. And when I told her I needed help with lipsticks she only took me to the Kat Von D section and stood there...staring...silently. I ended up just telling her I was done just to get her away from me. Needless to say, my first experience here was not great and maybe I'll try another location but definitely will not be coming back to this one nor will I recommend it. read more
