I frequent this store more than I should... Love Sephora and this location meets the chain standards. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable, if you need advise I recommend coming mid-day during the week when there isn't a lot of foot traffic. On the weekends it's hard to find a beauty expert that's not already helping someone else. My last trip here was especially pleasant, I wanted to try "baking" since everyone has been raving about and the beauty expert spent about 20 minutes on showing me different products, finding the right shades to match my skin tone, and teaching me the correct technique. So helpful! What I love about Sephora is that you can return a product you do not like, even if it's used. I also like that I can get a sample of a product that I'd like to try but am not sure will work for me. This Sephora does have a nice selection but customer service was terrible. The ladies that work here look unhappy and did not greet me or ask if I needed help, clearly I was looking around trying to find a specific brand. Once I got to the register with my purchase I was told I couldn't use my gift card. The gift card clearly says Sephora on it. She said those gift cards have been giving them trouble. I attended the no make up make up class. I am a make up amateur and I wanted to learn some simple techniques. Laura who was the makeup model for the class was closer to my skin tone and was able to help me match my skin with different products. She was explaining to me the benefits of using certain products over others. She was so patient with all of my questions. She also was able to help my lighter skinned friend. She really knew what she was talking about! I feel it is important to be able to work with multiple skin tones to teach classes like this one. read more

Every time I come in and ask for help the sales associates rush to throw some foundation or primer on my face so they can go back to standing around. I feel like I'm annoying them asking for help. I've had to return numerous products here because they do not listen to me and when I go home to use the product it does not work well with my skin. So I usually stay clear of Sephora. I was reassured of this the other day. I am not a makeup guru even though I LOVE makeup and think I may actually know what I'm doing. Upon my arrival I saw and even walked passed multiple employees without being acknowledged for at least 10 minutes. They LITERALLY scattered like cockroaches. Mind you I was looking like a makeup-less hobo but hey! Doesn't that scream HELP ME!!!?? Also, I may have not been in great condition, but neither did half the staff. I held Sephora to a higher standard, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I grabbed the one thing I KNEW I needed but sought out help. Again, nobody was willing to even acknowledge me. I even stood outside a group of employees that were chatting with one another for a good 2 minutes. They all scattered and this beautiful girl, Holly came to my rescue! She asked if I needed help (clearly I did due to my condition coming in ::dry humor inserted::). What i was originally looking for they did not carry but she also exclaimed that I was searching for the wrong thing! She showed me a great product (obviously I bought it) and then showed me a great product to accompany it. She noticed that my skin sucks and provided me something for that too with a "why" behind it. NOTE: if you are a consumer, always ask and understand the WHY behind something! I was getting ready to check out and Holly gave me a sample of the product i couldn't commit to quite yet. Let's just say, if I had the means I'd not only have bought that product but also had bought whatever she put in my hands even if it was a black matte lipstick! Update: went in & spoke face to face with Dee today, who again was very sweet, kind, gave us great samples which of course was awesome. I was just hoping Marissa (blonde haired manager) would come out & talk with my husband & I. In researching the video it showed her (per Dee) ushering out my daughters friend, unfortunately it does not have voice where you could've heard the things she said to my daughter & her friend. It was a learning experience for everyone though. The girls had taken concealer out of its package to check to make sure it's the right one but the employee saw that as the girl possibly attempting to steal, yanked the product from her hand & kicked them out without asking any questions. So Dee reassured us her employee was being coached to ask before booting out in a rude manner & we taught our girls to be much more careful of their actions & to speak up, the girls should've said, I'd like to speak to a manager-we we're looking to buy but they froze up. The employee was so quick to assume because they took it fully out of the box they were up to no good without asking. The girls needed to vocalize & explain their actions & call me immediately, because I was right around the corner. Very impressed withDee & how she handled it though I expected the employee to be defensive & she was not, very understanding. This definitely did not ruin us going here, actually a helpful lesson learned now!! Giving this Sephora a one star for now. My 13 yr old daughter went in there today to purchase some foundation from the store. I work at the salon in DTS mall area so I told my daughter & her friend to go, sample the samples, think about it & choose which foundation they like best. Not to be shy because that's what the testers are there for. Well, my daughter comes back empty handed & crying, embarrassed. She said they went in once to look around & sample stuff, then went to ultra to check to see what they had & decided to go back to sephora. My daughter pulls a foundation off the counter , shows her friend, her friend pulls the bottle out of the box to check the color (did not open the container ) next to my daughters skin & decide it's not a good one. So her friend starts to take it back & a very overly applied makeup, middle aged, blond haired employee comes up behind them, starts ushering them out PHYSICALLY by their backs , saying your out of here!!! Treating them as if they were teens looking to steal, my daughter was mortified & being taught to respect adults , she kept quiet. Came back to my work empty handed & crying, totally embarrassed. My daughter not only had cash but carries her OWN credit card to purchase stuff for herself, had more than enough to purchase. THIS TREATMENT WAS HUMILIATING & INHUMANE.. Looking for new foundation for my bday celebration in few days but nobody greet me or ask if i need help. they basically IGNORED me the entire time i was there for like 10 to 15 mins going around to see if someone will ask me if i need help. I'll never go back to this location. I asked two girls for help one was helping someone and stated she would get someone. I stood at the makeup counter where people get their makeup and was blatantly ignored by two other sales girls. There's something weird about this Sephora. Their employees hover around and watch you like a hawk. I'll be browsing and then see them pretend to look the other way as they pass me, but seconds later I'll catch them staring at me from the next aisle or across the room. I'm a normal looking human being with normal behavior and have no reason to raise suspicion, however I felt myself nervously sweating as I felt their laser eyes burn into me wherever I went in the store. I don't even know why I started sweating because I did nothing wrong and the AC was on. It was really uncomfortable to be watched everywhere, to the point where I didn't want to touch anything anymore. I don't understand why the store bothered to put in security cameras when their employees can do a better job. I came in with the intention to buy a certain product but wanted to look at some other skincare brands first. I was browsing some products when an employee, this unfriendly looking middle aged lady, who was hovering behind me, started talking about the products I was looking at without even asking me if I wanted her help. I prefer browsing products on my own in peace and hate talking to store employees unless I approach them first. I tried to make it clear that I didn't appreciate her uninvited help by saying politely that I would like to browse the products on my own. Lady didn't get the message and started going on and on about the products. I like to take my time reading the product ingredients and it was so uncomfortable as I read the product boxes while she stood next to me breathing down my neck. She was rough, unfriendly, and barely smiled. Whenever I reached out for a tester product, she grabbed it first and started slathing it on my hand. I tried making some friendly convo with her but she was taking none of it and instead kept egging me on to buy the product. I liked the products of the brand I was looking at, but I always like to try test samples of new brands first. So I asked the employee to give me samples of three products. Immediately her demeanor became more unfriendly, like I just insulted her. From that point on she didn't even face me anymore when I talked to her. She was extremely stingy with the samples, filling each sample bottle about 1/3 full. If you've seen Sephora sample bottles, you KNOW how tiny they are. The samples looked like they'd last one application or even less. I asked the employee if she could fill them up a bit more, so I could at least try them for two applications. She didn't acknowledge me and had her back turned against me too. She then bagged up the samples and tossed them to me, without saying a word and walked off. (By the way I tried the face cream sample later today for the first time and the amount she gave me didn't even cover my entire face.) I'm sorry, is it a crime to ask for samples? Does it take money out of the employee'w paycheck if she gives me three tiny samples? Is it that hard to treat your customers nicely? Usually the Sephora employees I've interacted with before are very happy to give me full samples, but this lady acted like I did something extremely bad. I wasn't being unreasonable at all either and asking for like 20 samples every week or something. My interaction with her ruined my entire mood. The way she and and all her hawk eyed coworkers treated me (and probably other customers) made me not ever want to shop there anymore. Such an unpleasant experience. After that I left the store without buying anything and went to buy the product I was looking for at Dillard's instead, who also carried it. The ladies at Dillard's makeup counter were so different; they were extremely sweet, gave me space to browse, and provided me lots of samples without hesitation even before I told them I wanted to buy their product. From now on I'll be taking my business to Dillard's and other beauty stores besides Sephora. I'll also tell anyone I know to do so too unless they enjoy the feeling of constantly being watched and feeling like a criminal who can't even exercise their own rights. I have an Illness that makes it difficult to leave my bed a lot of the time, so finally getting out and coming to purchase some makeup to make me feel better about my situation was supposed to be a good thing! But, sadly, it wasn't at all. I came in with my boyfriend to get a new foundation I was really wanting to try. When I walked in, the store wasn't too busy but all the employees were rushing around like it was. I got to the section I wanted to be in (it was a completely empty aisle) so I started looking and picking up some things I wanted to purchase. Out of absolutely NOWHERE an employee and an older women rush in the aisle, reach in front of me and basically shove me to the side while I was looking! The ONLY person that offered to help me, walked passed me as she offered and didn't look me in the eye. I looked around for help and no one offered as I stood around. There is a reason this Sephora location has such poor reviews compared to all of the others in the Las Vegas area. Whoever is the manager of this place needs to get his or her house in effing order! Every single time I come here, it's like pulling teeth to find help. It starts when you walk in and are promptly ignored while the sales girls titter to each other. When you finally give in and ask for help, they do everything in their power to give you the bare minimum help possible and look affronted the entire time. My recent experience was the last goddamn straw. I came into this Sephora ready to drop some $$$ as a VIB Rouge customer in need of some replenished supplies. Because I was ready to drop some serious coin though, I wanted to be sure this was the place that deserved my business. I walked in to silence, went to the first display - I've found in past experiences that a sales associate with the product expertise you're browsing tends to come up if you wait by what you want - only to have no one approach me in my 30+ minutes trying on different lipstick shades at the store. I moved from about 10 different displays at this time and passed about 10 sales associates (not an exaggeration) with testers in my hand. NOT A SINGLE PERSON APPROACHED ME. The only one who did - big boned girl with the shitty red dye job - glared at me the entire time I was using the center makeup station. Huffing and puffing around me like I was encroaching on her space. Do your job, heffa! I will say that there were some customers with sales associates and they all had one thing in common - being older! Power to these women, most of whom looked like they did indeed need help, but just because we're young does not mean we aren't equally willing to drop $$$. I rarely come here, but I had a gift card and decided to stop in today. Everyone was so helpful and answered all of my questions. I was looking for a new CC cream and was given a great product demonstration and couldn't be happier with my new find. I got a sample of a mask I've been wanting to try and was offered a rewards gift at the register. I was blown away by the great experience and am pleased with the purchases. I was even told that if I don't like any of the products, I'm able to bring them back, even if there's only one third left in the container. Now that's customer service! I come to this location often and my past experiences have been pretty okay; always greeted upon entering, always offered assistance by a sales associate etc. but nothing that really stood out to me as above average customer service. Today I had to visit to exchange damaged merchandise that I had received from an online order. Unfortunately the item I was hoping to exchange wasn't carried in store but luckily I was assisted by Earl. He first offered to have me exchange my item for a gift set and pay a $9 difference...this was honestly a good deal but not what I wanted to do. I told him that I would keep the damaged one and visit a different location. But he told me not to leave yet. When he came back he had somehow worked a miracle and I was able to exchange my damaged item for the gift set without an extra charge. This was quite surprising, since I've never known Sephora to essentially give away product (even in the name of customer service). However, if I'm going to spend $70 on a contour kit YES someone is going to help me to make sure I'm buying the correct thing. Your store clerks couldn't say "hello"or acknowledge our presence , but there was a clerk on every end cap checking and stocking merchandise but couldn't acknowledge us or ask if we needed assistance. What does it matter of the color of my skin have to do with purchasing products from your store? After all money is green and plastic is plastic. You didn't know which method I was using because you clearly was bothered by my skin tone because you wouldn't acknowledge us. Had you taken the time to put merchandise and fair business practices before my skin. Are your sure this is your protocol for handling irate or customers who have experienced negative behavior on behalf of your staff. From drawing that conclusion it leaves me to believe your corporation is not interested in my Black Dollars or Black Credit. Now I could have been belligerent in that store but my character is above that and will always rise above that and your unworthy of me getting indignant with. What you are worthy of is letting all women know you stereotype women of different ethnicities but acknowledge white Women, to inform them to not shop in your stores especially that particular store because that's where the negative encountered occurred; but when I called your corporation and you ignoring me is what escalated this complaint to this level. Truthfully, I feel so on the fence about this location. I constantly have up and down experiences here. My first time in here, I needed foundation and wanted to try Kat Von D's Lock It Foundation for the first time. It took me so long to get an employee's attention since I needed help matching my foundation. It wasn't busy when I went in either, which was honestly really irritating. I ended up waiting until an employee noticed and asked if I was doing okay. She went and got one of the make-up artists to help me and the girl I got was so grouchy. I work retail, and I understand if you have a bad day, but I did nothing of the sort in giving her an attitude or anything. I was peppy and really wanted her to help me. She started off by putting on such a heavy primer on me that I felt like my face was getting scrunched up. I could tell in the mirror that whatever she was putting on my face was doing nothing for my skin type, and she still kept trying to "blend" everything. I'm no one to judge other people, but when I go to make-up stores, I put a lot of faith into who's helping me. I'm nowhere near a make-up artist and I often look to the girls and how they do their make-up to not only get inspired, but I figure if the person who's helping me has great make-up skills, then they know their stuff. She had really really bad acne and she piled on so much make-up on her skin that I began to question whether she truly understood if a product would work for my skin type when she compared how "well" the foundation works in coverage for her. However, I decided against my better judgement and purchased the foundation either way and left. I'm glad I went home straight afterwards because when I got to my car I had these embarrassing brush strokes all over my face. She had lazily "blended" the foundation on me and made it look horrible. If you're wondering about the foundation, it DID end up working with my skin type, but the shade was a little off. I have yellow undertones in my skin, but naturally rosy cheeks. Basically, both yellow and red undertones. So, when I would put on the foundation, I had to take the time to really work it into my skin to make it look natural. Definitely not the best choice for me, and I would have appreciated a sincere and honest opinion instead of someone who was trying to get me out of their chair. My second time here, I wanted a new red lipstick. I really wanted to try out NARS after having great success with their lipliner and an employee who was in that section gave me great advice on what shades would work together. She even walked me over to the URBAN DECAY section and suggested other lipliners that would work with the lipstick I picked out: Charlotte. The cashier was friendly and quick and gave me samples. I was in and out in about 15 minutes which was great since I wasn't really looking forward to hanging out in there after the first experience I had. This last visit however, had me super uncomfortable. I wanted to splurge on myself and buy new KVD products since I love love love her liquid lipsticks. The employee who was in front of the fragrance section pretty much stayed glued in the direction I was in and just stared at me. I could feel her watching me do swatches on my hand and it was really annoying. I didn't even have a purse on me, just my wallet and my coffee. I felt so rushed in picking out my colors even if she didn't say anything to me because of how long she kept staring. She was definitely watching me as if I was going to steal something and didn't offer me a basket or anything. I stupidly grabbed three items, two that I ended up returning because I chose them on a whim and didn't really look at how the swatches looked on my hand since I couldn't deal with her looking at me. Personally, when it comes to lipstick, I like to compare colors and take my time on deciding whether or not it looks good with my skin tone or if I have something similar at home. Its normal for me to stand for a couple minutes and study the swatches I've done, trying to figure out what I really love. I had to get out of there and I didn't even bother checking out the rest of the brands. Just headed directly to the register. Again, the cashier was friendly, no samples, but its all good. I wanted out. Staying away from this store if I see that employee in the fragrance section. She was older with light colored hair and dark eye-makeup/lipstick. Its such a shame that I constantly have up and down experiences here. They have more product that the Sephora at JcPenny in Meadows Mall, which is why I come here in the first place, but I'd rather drive to Meadows Mall or the locations on the Strip instead. read more
