She was so patient with me, and I kept every product I bought from that visit. All of the other ppl were very pleasant and kind, they just didn't know how to achieve the look I wanted on my skin complexion. What an unpleasant experience... I left this store about an hour ago feeling deeply bothered and confused. I went in planning to purchase hair products and do some browsing. About 2 minutes into my search, a worker approached me asking for my name and afterwards said it was because she thought I had an appointment. (?) Shortly after, another worker sweeping asked me if I needed help. Mind you, she didn't ask the woman next to me that question. That's when I started feeling uneasy. I headed to the cash register to proceed with my purchase. Immediately after I paid for my items the guy working the register spoke to his mic "I already did" I was already feeling monitored and to make matters worse, as I was walking towards the exit, the security guard was looking at me and the worker who first asked for my name waved him off and proceeded to wish me a "good night" I don't understand why all four workers acted the way they did, but it made me feel targeted that they were monitoring my shopping behavior when I was simply browsing. I want to avoid feeling this way again, and will no longer be shopping at Sephora. read more

The staff are generally friendly, though very pushy with signing new memberships disregard that I've always clearly said no. I'm a regular at Sephora -- especially the Downtown location. I love the brand overall, and I shop there often. But I've noticed that this particular store almost never has what I need in stock. Whether it's skincare, makeup, or even basics, things are constantly sold out. I'm not sure if it's because the location is super busy or they just don't restock fast enough, but it's frustrating. I usually end up ordering online, which is fine -- but sometimes you just want to see and try things in person. The two times I've gone into this Sephora a male worker with glasses would try to approach us as we would leave the store and would stare at us as we walked out and continued to stare at us from outside the store. I don't know what he assumed but I don't think it was good by the way he looked at us. If you are thinking of booking here for a makeup service make sure you don't get Amber. My sister called me in tears after her appointment because Amber made her feel so horrible and not only didn't even give her the make up look she wanted but had such a poor attitude when she voiced things she wanted to change about the look at it was progressing, completely crushing my sisters spirit. Amber started off the appointment by rushing her saying "I have another client right after you so we have to get going" even though she was booked for the 60 min service and should have had her entire time block (spoiler: the full time slot wasn't even used). Unsurprisingly rushing her during the consultation time, so much so, that my sister wasn't even able to go through her phone to pull up her reference photo. This, of course, leading to my sister getting a makeup look that she wasn't even wanting even after trying to let Amber know what she wanted changed. Ambers response? "well that's not what you asked for, but I guess" and proceeded to have a passive aggressive tone the rest of the way filled with superficial, condescending "huns" and "babes" for the remainder of the appointment (mind you, the part of the makeup look that was missing was the MAIN part that she wanted included so it was stated explicitly that it was what she wanted, Amber just half heard and ran with it). My sister had to fix her makeup by herself afterwards in a panic because it didn't turn out right. I'm sorry but that's absolutely not right. It was such an important night for her and this whole experience just added so much unneeded stress. She's not the type to make a review or complain but it must be known that if you have anything important planned maybe think twice if your makeup artist is Amber. This is not at all to put down any of the other makeup artist here, from what I heard the other makeup artist that was working on another girl beside my sister was fully communicative, taking the time to make sure the look was what the other girl wanted. The stark contrast was just another thing that left my sister with a poor taste in her mouth. Amber, if you read this review, and I hope you do. Just know that working in the beauty industry, it's your job to make your client leave your chair feeling pretty. Not regretting even booking an appointment in the first place. I'm not sure if you were having an off day or something but either way it's your responsibility as a MUA to listen to your client, make them feel heard, and not feeling like a burden at the very least. read more

Alright story time, but it's worth it because it has a great ending and it's a 3rd times the charm kinda story lol My bf got me a Lazy Sunday Margiela full size parfum. He got me that one cause he saw I had it on my vanity and thought "hey, she'll like this" Still A for effort, love him trying, and he didn't know it was just sitting there because it's a waste to toss? Lol Just so you guys know, I had to go thru a total 3 different store locations before DTLA so kindly decided to help me out today. Hence this long ass novel of a review just feeling so grateful to Monét, Kamal, & I think the supervisor who greeted me. Now I have a parfum that I won't use and he got it from Sephora so I thought... "it's cool, I'll just swap the Lazy Sunday fragrance out for the By the Fireplace scent. No store credit, no return/refund, all I want is to swap for another scent, no big deal right? Glendale Americana location I explained my situation and staff immediately reacted to me so stern, strong, and honestly I felt they were being aggressive and lazy? They passed me off to 2 different associates and each gave me the same "No we "absolutely" can't do any returns or exchanges w/o a receipt" I kindly asked "Could you please help accommodate me this one time as a courtesy after hearing my situation?" They had responded no, I can't approve that and proceeded to say I was trying to return the one from 4 months ago which is way past the return policy xD (the full one sitting on my vanity lol that I don't use) After that "no I can't do anything for you" I went home distraught and bummed "Great, now I'm stuck with $400 worth of parfums that I dread the smell of" lol Now I've been a "ROUGE" member as they call it... for repeated continued years. I probably should have said something to them but honestly guys, WHO THE HELL wants to hear or even be that bitch in the store like..... "I'm a VIB ROGUE member blah blah blah, I spent over oh ioono X amount or more with you guys" It ruins the mood, it's off putting, and kind of negative... Not just for me, but also the WHOLE energy of the store. The Grove location I proceeded to try here the next day. I got the same response as Americana store. Explained the same situation of what had happened and after passing me thru 3 different associates again they said they couldn't do anything. So I left... DTLA Fig & 7th By now, I am just super discouraged and annoyed at this whole ridiculous situation. I literally was going with this mentality... "Ok, if no one can sympathize and help my pathetic ass out with this I am going to do the following... 1. I def will not be a Rouge member anymore 2. I don't care for the service at Sephoras but every blue moon I come across a gem sales associate. Coming from someone who worked years in retail management (including in beauty), their associates are horrible. They're not friendly and often times seem like they prefer talking to each other instead of assisting you with your needs. The team at 7th and Fig can be a hard hit or miss. A couple of their managers are snobbish and act irritated when you ask questions quickly ushering another team member to help you. Obviously, I can look past my experience, especially when I need products. But u often take advantage of their free delivery now. In general, the lack of kindness and desire to assist customers is disheartening at times. Their team meet need to remember why they're there and that being there is a choice. 5 stars for Amber in charge of facials! (She has awesome red hair) She is brand and skin knowledgeable and also speaks kindly. I would recommend booking facials with her. First time here, my experience- Other staff members were not as helpful and kind as she was which is why I'm giving this store overall 4 stars. Asked someone else for a foundation match and a primer recommendation and was just told about one and was not helped with actually finding it. She walked by me a couple of times and didn't offer help. After finally finding it I asked a different staff for help with a sample and she was rude about it and questioned if that's what I was actually asking. Very unprofessional and made me not even want to take it anymore. She gave me an extremely small amount which was even comical. Overall, I would recommend facials with Amber or ask her for help and advice if you see her. Other than that you are pretty much on your own in this store. read more

I was probably in middle school when Sephora stores started popping up in every mall in the San Fernando Valley. I was still all about cute stuffed animals and Korean stationery, and I remember feeling a little left behind when my friends became interested in beauty products, favoring lip gloss and nail polish over colorful gel pens. Over twenty years later, at the age of 36, I have finally gotten into skincare and makeup in a serious, Sephora Beauty Insider kind of way. I have, of course, shopped at Sephora in the meantime, as it's a great, convenient place to buy whatever makeup I might need all at once. But I've recently upped my consumption from a few replacement products every couple years to "well what DOES Allure say I need for flawless skin?" I've racked up Beauty Insider points and honestly, my skin does look a whole lot better. I visited this Sephora a few weeks ago, shortly after a big online order. I actually didn't need anything, but we parked at 7th and Fig to visit a friend downtown and wanted to validate our parking. The parking structure was an enormous pain in the ass, but I was happy for the excuse to shop at Sephora in person. The store was spacious and pretty, like every Sephora ever, with clearly demarcated sections that made the browsing experience very straightforward. I'd been curious about a Paula's Choice exfoliant, and I found it within a minute of entering. I got in line with the bottle and also spotted an exfoliating bodywash I'd had in my cart online. I grabbed it and was able to check out quickly, then validate my parking on my way out. (For the record, I think it'd be easy to validate parking without purchase here.) I've made one more Sephora order since this visit and have reached VIB status for the rest of the year. It's not always convenient to visit Sephora in person, especially with a parking situation like 7th and Fig's, but this is a nice location should I need it again. read more

I went in this morning to buy some cosmetics. The girl at the front was new. There were many store staff members walking around and what appeared to be two managers at the front just standing around. It was obvious the girl needed help. As I walked out I told the two managers at the front and one said they can ring up via mobile. I told him, I wish I would have known this. Beautiful and flawless with no makeup, patient and knowledgeable, kind and honest. Helped me pick the best ilia serum skin tint for someone who has only purchased 1 ever foundation in my life and never used . As makeup is very intimidating for me. She answered all my questions and taught me a whole new world of facial care while still applying coverage . While 7th and Fig itself has become a journey with getting to the stores (please remember your parking ticket, or take that miserable walk back up to the parking lot), Sephora is a welcome necessity the shopping mall was lacking (sorry MAC). The layout is familiar and you can expect the wonderful staff to be eager to help you with your beauty needs. The Fragrance section does appear limited (especially for Men), but they have many popular selections as well as new releases. Olaplex, Fenty, Supergoop, Youth to the People, all have wide selections. I did see they were low on Kat Von D makeup (they're probably still stocking), and they have a small selection of The Ordinary and The Inkey List for skincare on a budget. Overall, I like it! Always a line at the check out here, they simply can't manage the line, always chatting everyone up at the register, and meanwhile 10 people are waiting. You know you can be courteous and efficient at the same time, right? When you come to Figat7th to shop - it's mayhem already, so everyone expects a quick and convenient check out. My biggest qualm is with untrained cashiers: this girl didn't know what she was doing, and her attitude wasn't helping, not like she cared, it's a "i'm here all day anyway" attitude. I asked to apply 2 cards with store credit. She said she did. I looked at the total, and said this is not right. She looked puzzled. I asked if she could check those cards with store credit on the transaction. She says: oh yeah, there is nothing on them. I give her the receipt for both cards with store credit. She tries, and tries, and tries. Finally, the total goes down a bit. I say: this is wrong again. She double checks. Oh yes, the second store credit wasn't applied. She finally applies. I look again, and it's not right. I say: did you apply the VIB Rouge sale discount ( l came on the last day of sale ). She says " oh yeah "...
