They seem to always have employees but tell me when do the employees stop talking with each other and start helping the customers? 2 times I've gone in there and been ignored and had to wait because when I had my products to check out I was waiting in line with others and the moment it was going to be my turn the other associate takes the girl from the register for basically nothing that could have waited till the customers were all gone. Because looking at a few bags that were packed was not a big emergency. I'm hoping corporate sends a regional manager to keep an eye on how their employees behave. I'd say maybe 2 employees were helpful but the other 5 I saw in the store were giggling and doing their own thing. I was also surprised cause these women weren't young. Very sad how Sephora has let this go on. Also asking for a sample is like pulling teeth. The staff is very reluctant to give any out after you make your purchase. read more

Disappointing visit. The employees were to busy talking to each other to attend my wife with anything more than a brush off. That's what happens when stores have inadequate supervision. I met her last May, and she helped me find the PERFECT foundation and concealer (hauslabs) among many other products. Whenever I go into the store, I look for her to help me as she is so knowledgeable, honest, helpful, and most of all, kind. What a horrible experience! I came in for concealer and foundation. I finally sit down after waiting and the girl gives me a few options and we finally find it. This other girl jumps in and starts recommending things. Throws 20-30 products. I tell her at the end I'll take it all as I have an event today. She packs everything for me. Today I'm in nj and realize everything except the concealer foundation and eye glitter I wanted were in there. Beauty advisor I found one visit was amazing, helped me a lot but the cashier/manager that was checking out my order was the worst lady ever. I was treated like if I was stealing or something she gave me the worst attitude, the worst service always had a distasteful response and it made me feel so bad for going to this location which is a shame bc we recently move to the neighborhood and this is the closest one to my house but I would have to avoid this location or this person for future purchases. read more

I am very disappointed in Sephora customer service. I have contacted the online customer service and emailed Sephora.com. No one was able to give me a straight answer in resolving this matter and providing me with the appropriate corporate information to make my return. Other than the labyrinthine layout of this location, it's not a bad spot. I've never had a bad customer experience here. They are also receptive to listening about your skin concerns and prince range, because news flash folks, quality make up is expensive, and it sucks to lay down $40 on a foundation that doesn't match your skin tone and increases the oiliness of your skin. I don't wear make up everyday mostly because I sit in front of a computer screen and come into contact with like, five other human beings but I love playing with my look for nights out, special events or just needing a confidence booste every once and awhile. And the staff here gets that too. I hope the layout gets a fix though, it's super cramped in some spots and some lines are split into two different areas, not making much such. read more

Sad to say, this Sephora experience was an unbearable disappointment. I came to get my makeup done at 12pm. I was assigned to makeup artist Linda. The final look was very underwhelming, so she offered to have another artist complete the look. Danielle was essentially redoing the entire look, due to the foundation being caked on and eyebrows being filled in incorrectly. While she was redoing my look, an older Asian employee with a blonde bob comes over and inquires how I get my eyebrows done, and emphasizes that I should have gotten them done beforehand because they were very thick and "I had hairs all over." This was as I was getting my makeup done! All the while, many employees were passing me and inspecting my makeup which made me extremely uncomfortable. Folks, my eyebrows are not the thickest and in fact, even if they were, this is blatantly disrespectful, rude, and inappropriate to say to a CUSTOMER getting her makeup done at your place of employment. After my look was completed by 2:40 (2 hours and 40 minutes later), I spoke to the manger and explained the situation. She nodded and said that she would speak to the woman and proceeded to charge me for the look in its entirety. I have gotten my makeup done COUNTLESS times at Sephora and sadly, this has been the most disappointing experience thus far. Came in with my friend to get a good lipstick that also moisturizes After us looking around on a busy day we were greeted by Jennifer I explained to her what i was interested in wanted a lipstick and wanted it to not dry out my lips bc most lipsticks do that So she turned me on to Bite brand and i found a color i love and the results is goes on smooth. They nag customers and lead me to believe they are pushing them out of the store... An overall unpleasant buying experience. i'm sorry to say this but gosh it's what i expected. i knew exactly how the workers would react, seeing a happy, young Black teenage girl shopping around. i felt as if i was being HARASSED by the workers-- constantly asking me if i needed help or asked me the same question multiple times. the others that were shopping did not seem to be bothered as much as i was. i was going to buy products at that store, but i felt so uncomfortable and upset that i left everything. being accused of stealing? yeah, you'll never see me step foot in there again. read more

I'm surprised to see the negative customer service reviews because I encountered nothing but great customer service every time I stopped by to this Sephora. I went in today to exchange an eyebrow product for the third time that I just was not in love with due to a poor shade match. I'm elated to say that I found the perfect match thanks to Heather and will no longer be going back frustrated that I can't seem to find the perfect brow product. Heather and the other sales associate (I'm sorry I couldnt catch your name but you were absolutely wonderful) was the first time who actually went above and beyond the "can I help you with anything?" They were both super proactive, sat me down in the mirror, grabbed different products, different shades to make sure that I walked out with a product that worked for me. They are the reason I kept coming back to that location. However they seem to change their staff very often and I've had very poor experiences here with employees that are downright rude. While large and well-stocked, I found this Sephora to be less pleasant than I was hoping. The staff was too busy talking to each other about Lady Gaga to help me, although one gentleman in black lipstick did brusquely ask me if I was finding everything the moment I walked in. He didn't stick around long enough for my answer, but it was nie of him to ask. What I was looking for were brushes, and after a full tour of the enormous space on my own, I finally found them, a little neglected and mislabeled in a cramped space off to the side. Check-out wasn't very smooth, either -there was only one cashier for the eight registers, and she left to help some poor soul find something while the others continued their amazng conversation about Gaga. Customer service is lacking, but the stock is there in abundance. For a shop in the infamously schmancy Americana, I would certainly expect a hell of a lot more. read more

I was so disappointed. The staff are the worst I have ever seen. It is vib rouge 15% off sale now and I walked to the cashier with a basket of products and show them I receive 15% off in my Sephora app inbox . I show her my vib rouge card but the cashier told me that I CANNOT have the discount because I didn't have the discount card or the discount email. I said I don't know why Sephora didn't send the card but I have the email in my Sephora account inbox. But she still said she will not give me the discount. I feel like it is racism. I love the variety here but I'm annoyed that the staff don't know the products they carry. I was looking for a light champagne eye primer and 3 makeup artists I spoke to cited that only urban decay made one. Didn't even think about it and were very sure only UD had it. When I went up to the counter to pay a manager took my payment and asked if I found everyting OK and so I expressed what her staff said and immediately she took me to 3 booths that had varying shades of champagne that I wanted with a hint of shimmer. She said that her staff would have a re-training but who knows if that'll happen. So, if I ever make a Yelp list entitled "Reviews that Might Make You Think I'm Gay," this one will probably top off the list. I went to Sephora in Manhasset yesterday with my fiancee. We went in, not at her behest, but at mine. We went in, not to find a product for her, but to find one for me. See, I've been having a problem lately. I don't have a physician that I trust, which makes it hard to get a referral to a specialist like, say an allergist. That can be a problem when you live with your fiancee and her dog, which is now your dog, too. So, despite taking loads of Claritin, I rub my eyes a lot. As a result, my eyes are constantly red, and even flaky. I work in a field in which my income could probably be seriously impacted if the people that I meet with think that I'm some sort of drug addict, or something. So it's in my best interest to find something that will solve this eye problem. As I walked through the parking lot of this Manhasset shopping center, I became more and more surprised at how helpful the woman at Sephora was. She took the time to ask a lot of questions, recommended a cream that I could use on both my upper and lower eyelids (which apparently are different), and even put together a sample for me to try to make sure that it doesn't cause a reaction. This was surprising to me, because if I worked in this Sephora, I'm sure that I'd try to focus my efforts on someone who looked more like they were driving one of those gorgeous cars in the parking lot. read more

At least 4 associates walked right by me with no greeting. I stood by the makeup for twenty minutes with not one person asked if I needed help. The store was pretty empty and only until a woman that appeared to be a manager called someone to help me. One associate was standing and chatting with another associate that was doing a women's makeup not doing her job. One even walked away from me and I actually went further from my house to Roosevelt field mall to get amazing service. Someone greeted me at door and offered me a basket and 2 associates asked if I needed help within 2 min in the store. Unlike the other place, they were busy and still managed to make a sale because they were competent. read more

This location is amazing. The last two times I've been there, the customer service was exceptional. I can't remember any of the girls' names, but the older lady in the skin care department is extremely knowledgeable and will take time out to help you and address any skin care needs. Another time I went to get foundation for my Mom. I was helped by two associates. They took about 45 minutes to match my Mom and not once did they catch an attitude for taking so much time. I highly recommend this location over Roosevelt Field (which btw has the worst employees known to man). read more

Cindy here was helpful and not pushy even though I left with things I didn't go in wanting. I'll try them out maybe. What I like most about sephora is it seems like they're less pushy then counter makeup people at department stores. And they let you sample and your leisure. I hate the pushy salespeople. In the end I return if I don't want it! I also like buying online from them. They often carry exclusives and so far have been hassle free with returns and samples. read more

I went here this morning. I had an appointment which I made online. However two other girls booked for the same time. So there was some chaos but in 10 minutes I had someone to help me. Mary Kate was wonderful. She was very attentive, listened wonderfully and helped me achieve the look I wanted to obtain. She was not pushy and made sure I wanted the products I was going to buy. This Sephora is very large and has lots of items, one could easily spend hours here just looking. However I am going to give it 4 stars because of 1 the confusion when I first arrived. and also I bought a eyeshadow kit and the brush is missing which means I have to make a trip back there just to get a new one which will have the brush. I got great costumer service with Mary Kate I recommend her to anyone who has any questions or needs any tips. She was wonderful. read more

Every Sephora store I visit is just as wonderful as the last one. Sephora stores in general are very consistent with their service, which is why I love them. The Manhasset store was no exception, although I had to look for someone to help me instead of being approached. I went in to get a custom makeover for a night out and was very pleased with the results. I made the appointment online the day before, was quickly helped and was out in no time. Kim the make up artist was very friendly, and knowledgeable. And of course the Americana location was wonderful. Plenty of parking. read more
