I LOVE this store! When I moved out to the IE from LA, people were like what is Sephora? Now they know what I was ranting and raving about! I am a true make up junkie and this place has anything and everything you need to get beautified!!!!! The staff is AWESOME!!! Super friendly and helpful, very pretty and trolls seem to be threatened by their kindness! How can you be mean to a sweet helpful sales associate who is willing to allow you to try anything in the store or show you how to smoke out your eye? But you know the type! It's Sephora so if you need a product you frequently get here you'll find it. The store is big. The costumer service sucks, I was clearly looking for something I couldn't find and I kid you not passed 6 employees just hanging out. This is absolutely not cool, wasn't even greeted when I came in. 1st time here and had an amazing experience. I went on a Friday evening and it was super crowded so wasn't sure how it would go. I'm glad I went in though. The sales associate that helped me was Breana and she was super nice! She showed me a few choices of an item I was looking for and helped with a 2nd item that was my 1st time buying. I am a newbie to makeup, and maybe it shows too much? I went into this location looking to have someone help me with trying out an eye makeup look as part of the free walk in express service. I walked around the full store and no one asked me if I needed help. Finally, as I was getting annoyed a woman walked by and while straightening some products asked me if I was ok. I asked about the express service and even though it was in the middle of a week day with maybe one other customer in the store, and 5 or 6 other employees walking around doing nothing she still made me stand around waiting to "Check if that was something they could do for me." It felt like I was a huge inconvience to the lady that did it... As for the makeup look, she didn't tell me anything she was doing, didn't teach me how to get the look myself, and only showed me what she used after I asked. Despite this, I decided to give the Rancho Store another try, I am new to this makeup stuff and am looking to drop a few hundred dollars in one trip to get myself decked out in what I need to get started. I called to make an appointment with a Personal Beauty Adviser, which is a fun sounding service that you get someone to give you a makeover and spend 1 1/2 hours with going over your beauty look from head to toe. I called in about 15mins after they opened to make the appointment, yet they had me wait on hold for 8 mins before another girl picked up the phone and asked me again what I was calling about. She then informed me that the PBA was on another call and would get to me when she could. Instead, I get hung up on after that. Don't get me wrong, I understand people have off days, or that places can get busy, or even that people can hang up on you by accident. However, when you have a store this expensive I expect EXCELLENT customer service, and honestly don't fell I have gotten it even once here. read more

I usually love shopping at Sephora to find new products, and I understand that it can be busy at times so usually I have to walk around looking for someone to help me if I need something. I went earlier this week to pick up a few things and really wanted a sample of a face mask, which takes literally 5 minutes..I found an associate (her name was Ava) who wasn't helping anyone and asked if she could help me by making a sample for me, she looks and me and says "yeah there's someone back there that can help you"..excuse me SEPHORA MANAGEMENT please let your associates know that they work at a retail store and they are there to provide service to customers, I don't know if you need to give your associates classes on how to properly serve customers but something needs to change. read more

I went looking for different makeup. Concealer, highlight and whatever else caught my attention. I have mature,aging, skin so I take my time researching products and ask a lot of questions. I started at Mac in Macy's and the girl who helped me was some what helpful. Went to Sephora next and the guy and girl who helped me were fantastic. I asked a lot of questions and they were patient, gave me free samples and I got a few new products. I love this Sephora!!! Who doesn't love being able to have samples! Customer was excellent and I went on a Sunday afternoon. They were extremely busy. Next I went to Ulta looking for IT cosmetics. No help from anyone. I wish Sephora sold more IT cosmetics. Came to sephora today with my 2 year old daughter and of course she threw a little tantrum in the store. The staff was so awesome to her! They gave her a little sephora bag for her to play with along with some tester tools. She was so happy ! Still playing with them today. The staff went out of their way to help and I was very pleased! I believe it was a Friday, and even though they were really busy ... Kayla T went out of her way to help me .. This store needs more staff. It's a waste of time to come here in need of help and not have anyone available to assist you. Not only that but the very few staff members who are on the floor will not even make eye contact with you. There are no greetings here when you walk in. There will be no can I help you or are you looking for a specific product. Nothing. None. Zero. Nada. And beware there are a ton of younger girls who are testing the products, giggling, taking pictures and not even buying a single item. The staff won't even approach this matter. I get it, the tester products are available for everyone to test them, but common the staff can be more approaching and encourage people to either buy something or move on and get out of the way of the ones who are actually trying to buy stuff. This is the number one reason why I would much rather order online and not bother with in-store purchases. read more

I walked in on a busy Saturday afternoon looking for some foundation samples since my current one was not cutting it for me anymore. The store was busy since the new Fenty Beauty line launched and all of the Sephora employees were busy assisting customers. I had come to the conclusion that I was probably not going to be helped but as I lingered near the entrance I was approached by one of Sephora's makeup Pro's, Brenda R. and she quickly noticed that I needed help. She was super sweet and her makeup was jaw dropping (that cut crease slayed me). I explained to her that I have oily acne prone skin and that I needed some foundation samples so that I could see which would suit my skin tone and skin type best. She was able to color match me, provide me with excellent customer service, and foundation samples so that I could be on my way within 15 minutes. She didn't seem annoyed that I wanted samples when they were slammed with customers who were there to make purchases. She took the time to listen and help me find some great samples that will help me in making my next foundation purchase. Brenda made me realize why I shop at Sephora and it's because of their world class customer service and great products. read more

Sephora is always my go to for all my makeup needs, I've never even stepped foot into an ulta beauty store. I am a vib rouge member so I obviously buy quite a few products from sephora and sephora.com. I like to make purchases online because every time I go into a sephora store it takes forever to get someone to help me and then when someone finally does help they make me feel rushed like they have better things to do. Also, I have never got someone who can color match me correctly. I just recently placed an online order at sephora.com about 2 weeks ago and still haven't received my order. I have been emailing sephora and questioning what is taking so long. At first they said there was an overload of orders due to the 20% off sale, then a few days passed and still no package so I emailed them again and this time they said one of my items was out of stock. So I questioned why haven't my other items been shipped and why haven't I received any information about the order. I also questioned why the item wasn't shown out of stock while ordering and why it still doesn't show out of stock on the website. I still haven't received a response. Not only do the stores have horrible customer service, but online service isn't any better. I will be doing all my shopping for my beauty needs at ulta from now. read more

Sephora is great. It is pricey, but it is worth it. The products you find in Sephora are quality. The people that work there are very helpful, which I love because it is very easy to get lost haha if your trying to find something specifically. I usually go for the Tantilizer by Lorac...I don't use tanning beds so I use the rub on stuff for nightlife, easily washes off, its great. Anyway it is by far top of the line. It beats any Sally Hanson stuff at target, or anything else there is out there.So basically 3 times the price, lasts way longer, stays on longer, and looks way better. Went to purchase some makeup, very bad experience, completely ignored for a good ten minutes by more than 3 employees (one was too busy applying her halloween makeup to offer any assistance) finally did get some help for like 10 minutes then we were told he had to take his break and said he'd get someone to help us and disappeared, we stood waiting for at least 10 minutes more before I decided to take my business somewhere else. So we've (my girlfriend and I) have been to several Sephora's and honeslty we are very displeased with the service here. The workers kept us waiting for 30 min all while we saw several other individuals who had just come into the store being helped. She didn't want anything fancy just some help matching her foundation. BAD CUSTUMER SERVICE !!!!! I was verry desappointed yesterday going to Sephora. I made a 45 min drive to buy some products that the other Sephora near me didn't have. Once I got there no one was available to ask questions neither was I greated from one of the employees. I was looking everywhere for a worker and the one I found was really bothered that I had asked a question about a primer because she was too bussy chatting with another Sephora worker that at the time said she wasn't on the clock so she couldn't help. I got the primer that I always get because the lady I had asked to help me was bothered in the fact that I asked about other primers and I was really desappointed that I just left getting only 1 thing. I recently booked a makeover at Sephora with Linda because I will be getting married at a location that has no makeup artists. So I will have to do my makeup by myself! Now, I am not the greatest at doing my own makeup, so Linda showed me step by step on how to do exactly what I wanted and helped me get all the products I needed for my big day! If you ever stop at this location make sure to ask for Linda! She is beyond helpful and really knows how to create some beautiful makeup looks! read more

This store is a huge disappointment on so many levels. I'd give 0 stars if I could. I am a long time VIB member and recently moved to the area. I love sephora but this particular store is an embarrassment to the brand. The samples are so gross, waste bins overflowing, the people on the floor have zero and I mean ZERO effort to help clients. I have to chase people to help me. This morning I went in to get new foundation to try a different brand. The employee had zero desire to listen to my needs or to even help me try any thing on. She put a brand on my face and said "look in the mirror does the color match your skin". I said isn't that your job to help me I have no idea! The check out clerks could barely smile and the store is constantly PACKED and it becomes stressful to even browse new products. Not to mention everything I ever went in for was out of stock. I walked in to this Sephora yesterday night at around 9:50 I didn't realize they were closing soon but as soon as we walked through the door an associate standing by the door made sure to let me know I only had 5 minutes to shop. I stood there confused because as far as I know you have to let customers shop if they come in before closing. I felt uncomfortable there so we just walked right out. I walked in to return a couple of things along with a purchase. No one helped or even asked if I needed any help. I grabbed an eye shadow palette and went to pay. I forgot his name, but it was a younger male, dark hair, light skin, and petite who helped me. I told him I needed to return a couple of items and purchase a palette. That's when I noticed his tone changed. He seemed very agitated and annoyed. He decided to take his sweet time with my returns by looking for something. As he was scanning my returns, he stopped to answer the phone. He completely ignored me and didn't even bother to let me tell me he needed to take a call. So I literally stood there listened to his non important phone call. He was smiling and giggling to whom ever was on the other line. After he hung up he proceeded to try to find whatever he was looking for. Which turned out to be a sticky note which was right in front of him. I knew he was annoyed with me and he made it quite obvious. I attempted to make small talk by asking him which palette he preferred; the tarte or chocolate bar because I was purchasing one for a friend. Not once did he look at me to answer the question. Instead he looked down with a RUDE voice and said, "chocolate bar". As if I made him utter another word. I proceeded to tell him I will need a gift receipt and he rolled his eyes. Shocked, I continued to stay calm and collected. The line grew longer because that's how ridiculously long he took to just make a couple of returns along with a purchase. I asked him if my change will go directly back to my card. Not a word from him just a simple rude stare to his screen monitor. The register popped out and he said "No, here's your change." He handed me a few dollars and leaves my change right on the counter for me to pick up. He left my change near him so I had to reach all the way over just to get my change. While I was reaching over for my change he called " Next person in line." He didn't even care if I was done picking up my change. Not only that he didn't even bag my eye shadow palette. So I asked him if he can bag my stuff up. Like hello..that's what you guys do when people buy products. That pissed him off even more. He hands me a sephora bag. Yes...HE HANDED ME a sephora bag because he wasn't going to give me anymore of his time and service. As I turned around to leave the counter register...I noticed he didn't print me a gift receipt like I had asked him. So I quickly turned around and told him that he forgot my gift receipt. He gives me the ugliest stare, points his rude finger up, and screamed "BACK OF THE LINE!!!!" and twirls his finger. This was in front of a bunch of people waiting in line. Luckily someone else was able to help me. They should fire him. If I was a manager at that sephora I would NEVER ALLOW any of my staff to treat a customer that way. So ive had bad expirences here before but always tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. BUT today that HAS ALL CHANGED!!! These people are rude and do not help you for crap. Sephora brand liquid foundation has a special price when you combine 3 certain items. So I thought i should give them a try. It took me over an hour to get each item and every time i tried to find someone for help they were too busy running to the back to close. I finally got the register person and asked her about the brush and she said she didnt know, another lady over heard her and said she knew (after i explain the combination deal i wanted to try). Finally get to the register to pay and they tell me i cant purchase them with the deal bc that deal is in a box set and they ran out. Really!! You tell me this after working for it for an hour by myself and then trying to hunt the last product down with 2 of your associates while explaining what I wanted!! So she goes and ask her manager which comes over to tell me no she cant help me but they can order it online for me. Really!! If i wanted to do that then why the HELL DO I NEED TO COME IN TO YOUR STORE! So i put all my products down, along with a few others and walked out! I wasnt asking for charity bc im was going to purchase well over $200 worth of stuff but why the hell didnt they tell me when i explain to them what i wanted before hand! I am an avid Sephora shopper. But, I really hate this particular store. The store is always jam packed (not their fault) BUT the store is constantly disorganized and messy. Every time I've come here I do NOT feel welcome. The staff is not friendly at all. I was recently there and while searching for a product 3 separate staff members walked down the row I was in and asked EVERY single other person if they needed help or were looking for something ect. Then proceeded to look me in the eye and walk right past me without even one word. Explain to me how you can ask a group of kids playing in makeup spreading germs around the makeup samples if they have questions, need help, are looking for something and then snub an actual paying customer who is carrying a basket which contains well over $100 of product in it?? They clearly do not appreciate my business and therefore I will no longer be giving it to them. I will drive out of my way to go to the store in Montclair Plaza and if they don't have what I need I suppose I'll be an online shopper. But I will no longer pay to be treated like dirt in a store that I'm spending so much money in. No thank you! read more

There are pluses and minuses here. First the pluses... The store is usually stocked and organized. There are some employees who know color matching and knowledge of products. Line goes fast most of the time even if its long. An associate named Courtney who knows her stuff, if you can try to go in when Courtney is working. There are samples when you ask for them. There is a nice rewards program. The minuses... Sometimes I like to come in and simply browse...I bring notes on certain products to swatch or read up on them...but some of the employees don't always take "just browsing" for an answer. I had a pushy sales associate suggest I get color matched at least twice. I have already been color matched and told her that but she still insisted I speak to a color specialist. Leave me alone please, trying to browse! Also, sometimes I have quick questions...that only require one answer...no color match or makeover needed but they act like they can't answer me because they are busy, only assigned people can answer non-skin care related questions. There were 3 sales associates standing at the front of the store and not one of them could answer my question on the spot. I was asking what is the difference between the Dior Nude and Dior Serum foundations and before I could finish my question, the blonde girl with glasses and a clipboard standing at the door abruptly cut me off and suggested putting me on a wait list to speak to a color specialist and getting matched. Really? I have one question I don't need a color match and she refused to help me direct but would rather blast off quick answers to things I wasn't even asking help with. Then instead of answering my question she suggested a foundation isn't working for me because my skincare isn't right thinking I don't exfoliate. Man, I knew that wasn't the issue have no issues with my foundation at home and yes I exfoliate. Just because you work in skincare doesn't mean you have the answer to why a foundation accented my dry patches. Totally pissed me off! Try listening to your customer completely before cutting them off! Also, if you are making a decent purchase samples are not hard to come by. But plan to get weird looks if you ask for samples without planning on purchasing anything. I think I am doing them a favor by getting samples so that I don't have to make returns and waste product.
