I couldn't believe they have everythings I need it.They have a great selection YSL and DIOR.This is a great store ever

I just got home from visiting the Sephora at my local mall and was so upset about my experience there today that I immediately had to write this email. The Sephora I went to (and regularly go to) was at the Fashion Square Mall in Sherman Oaks. This was by far the worst shopping experience I've ever had in ANY store. I've never been treated so poorly by a manager in my life. The manager (Brooke) was extremely rude and unprofessional. I've seen her in the store before and have felt this way after past interactions with her but today was the worst. When I walked into the store I was not greeted by anyone. I was looking to build an entire makeup kit and had budgeted $500 to spend today doing so. Being familiar with the new Sephora policy of having to sign in and wait to be seen by a sales associate before being able to ask questions or receive help (a policy which I hate by the way), I saw the clipboard with no one attending it and proceeded to sign myself in. As I was writing down my name, Brooke (the manager) comes up from behind snatches it away from me and sounding annoyed, asks how she can help me. I was in shock at how much plain disregard that this employee had for a customer to treat me so disrespectfully. Anyways, I went on to tell her that I need help finding some products and that I took the liberty of signing myself in to be seen because there was no one around to do it for me. She rolled her eyes and said my name will be called and then walked away. At this point I was already upset but decided to wait it out anyway since today was my only day off this week and hence my only opportunity to buy the products that I needed. When I finally got called by an associate, I was helped by a gentleman named Zanoni. He was absolutely exceptional and a real breath of fresh air after how I was initially treated by his colleagues upon arrival. He was kind, helpful, patient, and extremely knowledgeable about the array of products that I was interested in. About five minutes into him helping match a foundation and show me how to use a beauty blender (both products I ended up purchasing), he got on his headset to respond to something that someone had said to him through his ear piece. I can only assume that whoever he was communicating with was questioning him as to why he was still with me...as if he had spent hours with me when it had only been a few minutes. He explained that I was trying to build a makeup kit and he was helping me gather the products. This bothered me. A lot. I found it disrespectful that he would be questioned in my presence as to why he was still wasting time helping me, a paying customer. A few minutes after that, Zanoni informed me that he would have to hand me over to another associate because he had to cashier for the next hour, per scheduling or policy or whatever. This was already strike #3 for me. What is the logic behind making an employee leave a customer that they are helping to attend to another unrelated task? I'm so confused by this. Anyways, continuing on...Zanoni introduced me to yet another sales associate who would be taking over. I told her I was looking for a contour kit and an eyebrow kit. At that point she informed me that she would only be able to show me how to use one of them and that if I had more questions or if I wanted to learn about both types of products I would have to schedule a makeup appointment. This is when I really just about lost it. I came to Sephora to buy certain products, products that I could've gone elsewhere to purchase. Then when I had questions about those products, I was told that those questions could not be answered at that time because it required a separate appointment. WHERE IS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE? Being completely outraged, I took the products that Zanoni helped me find and purchased them without doing any further shopping. I am so upset at how I was treated and equally upset that I didn't get to buy all the things that I wanted. I thought this was a makeup store? Isn't the goal of a store to SELL things? Apparently not at your Sherman Oaks location. Oh and the most ironic part of this whole experience was that as I was paying for my items, I was informed that I was now promoted to VIB - a "Very Important Beauty Insider" - due to the points I had acquired and money I had spent in the store over the past year. HA. I couldn't help but laugh because the last thing that I felt at that moment was very important. Unless there are major changes that take place within this store's policies, management, and customer treatment, I will never return to this location or any other for that matter. You must realize that in this mall alone there are two department stores I can go to to find the same exact products. Given the type of competition you're up against why would you want to treat your customers so poorly? I just don't understand. Well, first off I LOVE the workers in Sephora at the Grove. Since that is my first sentence on the Sherman Oaks location I think that says a lot... The ladies at the grove are clearly happy at their jobs. If you ask for samples they hand them out GALORE! They'll even suggest things for you to try that are similar. I have even gone in with a friend who was not present bc she was at work, texting me asking me for samples that they were SO happy to give. Not at all an issue. They even gave my friend who was again, not there, an extra sample of something to try. Now, for some reason at Sherman Oaks, they act like its an issue that you take a sample even if you apply it in the store. Uhhh whatt???? Im sorry before I spend $58 on a YSL foundation, I would like to know how compatible it is with my skin type and wear it for a FULL DAY and not just for 30 seconds to then take it off with your god awful makeup remover. Every time this happens, the "make-up artists" there always look at me confused. The main component of your job is to introduce these products to customers, so yes, it is your job to give out SAMPLES. Im very confused as to how they think this is an appropriate approach. It makes me not want to buy anything from there. I have gone into the Grove and purchased Peter Thomas Roth products that I didn't go in seeking. They were suggested to me and I found that I LOVED them more than what I had originally asked for. Uh, they're clearly making way more money, not just because of its location. Why am I posting this? Gross! This location is so dirty and unorganized!! I walk in there and first of... no one says hello. NOT ONE person asked if I needed help. I could see dust on top of all the products. The way they set up their displays made no sense... there was an entire area for haircare, then all of a sudden, I'm at skin care and I see a shampoo line in the middle of the section (Alterna), really?? This location used to be so much better. The salespeople were also kind of rude and distant. They were always talking amongst themselves. One sales lady was even doing her makeup in the front of the store (she definitely noticed me, we exchanged glances, and not one hello or welcome from her). The only person that was great was a young man with long dark hair, he was very friendly (that's why I'm giving this place 1 store and not zero). But next time when I need to go to sephora, it'll only be the one in hollywood, or century city. I'm sorry Sherman Oaks, but you've lost a loyal customer. read more

ehhhhh macys and bloomingdales are both cheaper, and are in the same mall... we checked, so aqua di gio is $70 at Sephora and $55 at macys... also versace (the blue one) was $85 at Sephora and $60 at bloomindales.... result = SEPHORA SUCKS !!! This review is for a lovely young lady named Michele (my apologies if the spelling is off). I came in looking for a moisturizer to purchase at a later date. I already have tons of Sephora products like cleansers and serums, but I was lacking a nice moisturizer. Michele was the most delight woman I have ever met at any Sephora store. She was warm, informative, and encouraged my try samples before committing to a brand. We conversed about all kinds of things as she made the samples, and by the time she finished, I felt like I was talking to a good girlfriend. Something about her makes her feel like family. I am very very disappointed of this particular sephora store... As a member of their beauty insider, I had never had a problem whatsoever. However, today a day unlike others, where I get really VIP experience and great service, like the stores in the Glendale galleria, Americana, Arcadia mall, Pasadena, Santa Monica, Antelope Mall, to name a few. I walked in to the Fashion Square Mall, Riverside Dr., looking forward to getting a review on couple of products I had questions with. As I finally stepped into the store, the guy at the door glances at me, here I am on a lazy Sunday look from running errands all morning and while pushing my baby on her stroller he greets, not once he offered a bag for my items, and he looked away instantly, then as my first time being in this store I walked almost all the way to the back after missing the Urban Decay and the Tarte section, so while lost and trying not to disturb the other clients with the stroller, I ran across 2 sephora employees whom were very interested in their own conversation and again glanced at me, without offering help, not even for pure courtesy. I also ran across 3 more employees, and not once I was asked if I need help, rather felt like my presence and my baby's were not welcomed at all. Like ALWAYS I walked out of there with 1 product I found my self and having to ask for feedback to another client that was buying a similar product that i needed, and not to mention that my satisfaction was on the floor from that moment until I paid and felt like I was doing a "walk of shame" towards the exit... I believe in equality highly, and it is sad that after 10+ years of being a frequent buyer, I get this treatment and the stares. This was my personal experience today, I hope no one else goes through this, and that they learn better about customer service and that no matter what the brands you are wearing or who you are with, they cannot tell your wishes for shopping or more importantly your emotions towards a great shopping experience.. Very dirty testers and customer service is just hit or miss.

Well after being sent several emails about how they wanted my business back and the lure of 5 free samples I went in. I bought a lipstick and was offered and received nothing. I found the store to have well worn samples and very little stock. I will go back to department stores and Ulta for all of my future purchases. What a disappointment. read more

Went in today looking to spend my hard earned money only to be disregarded. After reading reviews I see there is now a sign in sheet. Excuse my French but who the fu$! has the time to wait to be called for service?? Hopefully not all Sephora's are like this cause I will totally lose it. I don't know who thought this policy was ideal because it's such an inconvenience. I asked a girl that was standing around for a foundation that I had seen online and she said no we don't carry those in store. So I think well is she gonna offer to order it online for me? Nope! That's it just answers my question and walks away. Total B!$$$. I saw an item In store that I wanted to buy but after being outraged at their shitty customer service I refused to give this location my business. I went to Bloomingdales to buy my foundation and will be ordering my products online. Management needs a serious reality check, you're only making money because we're spending it there. Wow. I thought it was just ME! After reading the other reviews I see others had a crappy experience here too.. I thought it was just me cause I do not look like I buy a lot of make up. Make up artists are VERY Clique-ish. HOWEVER I do wear make up and would appreciate a greeting when I walk in. The sales associates in this store are on it! Despite it being a hectic Saturday night, each person I passed by acknowledged me. I was unable to find a brush I was looking for and a lovely girl with short black hair (so sorry I didn't grab your name!) immediately found it for me. It ended up being the wrong brush (I needed an eyeliner brush, she handed me an eyeshadow brush. I didn't check the name on the box, oops!) and I had to return it, but it happens. The man on register was fairly new to the job, yet he also was quick to jump into action and was great. This store is 45 minutes from my house, and despite having two sephoras near me, I'll be coming here from now on. They simply outshine both of the locations closer to my home. I had such a great experience here yesterday. I came in after an interview at a store in the mall. I was in search of a new full coverage foundation. I was put on the waiting list to have an associate do the skin IQ and help me. The wait was a bit long but that wasn't a problem. Gave me time to check out all the goodies. Melissa came over to help me. She's super friendly, knowledgable about all the options I was I terested in, and fun to chat with. After doing the skin IQ she looked up a couple options and suggested Tartes Amazonian clay full coverage foundation based off my letting her know I lean more towards natural products when I can. She tested it out on my skin and it was perfect. Exact color match to me. She also offered me a sample of Urban Devay's all nighter foundation to try as another option. Melissa was just fabulous. Hope the managers or superiors see this and give her recognition for her fantastic service. Thanks girl! I'll definetly be shopping at this location instead of the Hollywood and Highland shop which is closer to me because of her. My experience with cast member "DANNI" at Sephora was above and beyond anything I was expecting!!! I would give her more than 5 stars if I could. I went there two weeks ago, and my positive experience continues to resonate with me so I want to write a review and share with everyone how amazing she is. I went to the store in search of a new foundation and had my eye set on Make Up For Ever - HD Invisible Cover Foundation. With so many shades, I had no idea what to purchase, or where to start. When I arrived late afternoon, the store was popping... Everyone was busy and no one really greeted me, and I felt like this was going to be a chore to get some help. I asked if I can be color matched and they said it would be a short wait as everyone was with a customer. (No problem, I didn't make an appointment so I understand.) As I was browsing the store, one girl stood out to me as she had incredible energy, and the best vibe in the room! I was hoping they would set me up with her, and they did! That's when I met Danni. She talked to me and made me feel absolutely comfortable. (We're talking about face imperfections and flaws here... You kinda get self conscious about things no matter what.) She addressed me by my name and she told me exactly how she was going to color match me with the little handheld thing and the iPad computer. I literally thought she was going to hand me a shade and tell me to purchase it, but that did NOT happen! NEXT... We chose 8 different brands and swatched (streaked?) them on my cheek and jaw to find the perfect shade and right amount of coverage. Out of the 8, we chose 4 to test on my whole face to wear for the entire day and to see in real sunlight. She was very informative and had experience with all the brands/makeup. Danni also gave me samples of the foundations WE chose to take home and try out. She told me to come back and let her know what I liked/didn't like about each of them. Totally wasn't expecting that... I have to applaud her for her expertise and work and her ability to put people at ease while giving me options and information about things I didn't know was out there. But this is my least favorite Sephora store in the area to go to (& I have been to a LOT in many cities!)...very snotty sales people at this location, lots of attitude, not friendly...I felt like they only hovered over me like a hawk because they thought I was going to steal something! Not very friendly or helpful. One time, I was using store credit and had a few extra bucks to spend, and the cashier walked over to the "impulse purchase" bins and said "just get this" and picked something for me because it was around the same price as the amount of credit I had left! First off, I am a professional makeup artist. I needed to buy something so I thought I'd try their complimentary (with purchase) makeup service. Made an appointment days in advance, and when I show up today, they say there's no record of my appointment, even though I have the confirmation email. But never fear, they went and "found" someone to do my makeup. The girl was extremely nice and sweet, but inexperienced. I did not receive the specific look I requested. Every feature was asymmetrical. She showed me several great products and I had a really nice time chatting with her, lots of stars for you sweetie! But from the scheduling failures to the low talent standards, overall, this is not a place you can go and expect professional service. read more

I received excellent service and make up advice from Audra at Sephora. I kept returning to Sephora to duplicate the contoured look the artists always created after my mishaps, and Audra helped me to recognize that less is more. Instead of purchasing more heavy concealers, foundations, and setting powders, she taught me to obtain the same effects using the products I had previously purchased from Sephora and instead of heavy concealer, I purchased a powdered contouring kit. Now my make up does not look packed on my skin but enhances my features. I would highly recommend Audra for darker complexion skin make overs. read more

She took the time to find what I was asking about, found it and then put it on hold for me until a friend could pick it up later that day. I am not much of a Sephora person, but my mother was recently visiting from the East Coast and needed a consult that only the Sephora people could provide. I am really shocked at the reviews on this site, because everyone was super friendly and helpful as soon as we walked in the door. Also it was abundantly clear that my mother was a novice with makeup and her experience was limited to more drugstore brands, our consultant-Jackie-was patient, awesome and had tons of advice. Jackie was sooooo good with my mom and found a foundation for her that worked perfectly. She also suggested products that she thought would be beneficial and really listened to everything my mom was saying. She was also not pushy with the products. I snooped on my wife's pintrest account to see what she wanted for the holidays. I went to Sephora to find the "Naked 3" she had pinned. I had no idea where to find the product or what I was looking for. I printed out a picture of the "Naked 3" from her pintrest and brought it into Sephora. One of the staff welcomed me into the store and immediately helped me locate the product. They were very friendly and very helpful. I've had better experiences at other Sephora's. However if I know exactly what I'm looking for its a great place to pick up my products.

Came here (admittedly close to closing) to pay for a bunch of products my beautiful sweetheart left on hold. She had left before so I had to figure out this store on my own (it's my fault for being so late...) I had told her to just hold onto the basket and sit by the front and wait for me but the ladies took the basket and she decided to just leave the things to me and go get food. Easy enough task... However... When I finally got there and asked a sales woman about it, she told me to wait to be helped. She was rude and passive, made me wait ten minutes. Then she asked what my name was and came back five minutes later to tell me nothing was on hold under that name. Figured it was under the name Catelyn, I asked someone else, a ginger (cannot remember the name) and she basically ignored me completely! I guess unless you're a beautiful young woman, they pay no attention to you! I had to leave, unable to buy the things that were on hold. Luckily she had pictures of the products. Took her to the topanga mall location the next day and bought them all, no problem, better service, even helped me pick out a new cologne. Horrible experience for both me and my partner. read more

So this was my first time having my makeup done in Sephora I was super nervous because I didnt know any of the artists, and I came to do my makeup for my senior portrait pictures. I was amazed by how friendly the staff is at this specific Sephora in Sherman Oaks. I walked in and went up to one of the employees and told them I had made a 2:30 appointment ( I was early ) and she told me to go ahead and sit at the beauty bar until my artist came out. I waited probably 2 minutes max and she came right out. My makeup artist introduced herself as Geena Elizabeth with such an amazing attitude. I can not explain how much I fell in love with her personality. She asked me about how my skin type is and how I like my makeup, what im comfortable with what im not, and basically asking everything that she needed to know. I told her how I have super sensitive skin and how dry I am and she told me not to worry because she will take care of my skin and have my makeup looking flawless. During each product application she told me what she used and how its going to work on my skin which was a mini learning lesson for me, it was amazing! She introduced me to this amazing beauty oil which was going to help hydrate my face. She used all these amazing skin care products to prep my face; from skin mists, to beauty oils, to moisturizers and toners! I felt so pampered. Most importantly she made me feel as though we were bestfriends. I opened up to her and so did she and we talked and I overall felt amazing and confident. She made me feel so relaxed and every person who walked by whether it was an employee or a customer, they complimented my makeup and everything! I knew she knew what she was doing from how comfortable she made me feel as her client. My makeup looked AMAZING on photo and lasted me the whole night ( I went out afterwards ). I felt beautiful and I strongly believe she is an amazing person inside and out. I love how friendly she was with me and so informative. I learned things about my skin that I was never taught or told about. Geena you are a makeup GOD. My makeup looked FLAWLESS. My skin was glowing and looked so hydrated even once I got home. Words cant describe how much I enjoyed my makeup session with Geena. I got her information so I can book her every event I have. I would highly recommend taking your appointments with Geena Elizabeth. Again, she is amazing and her skills are outstanding. She is a gorgeous woman and I cant wait to be sitting in her chair for my next event. Love you girly! read more
