The sales representatives at this location are not very friendly. I've been in multiple times and have been consistently watched like a hawk as if I'm going to steal something. The ladies in there are very high and mighty and not helpful what so ever. I've never had such bad customer service. Would not recommend going here if you're a happy go lucky person. I am a long time Sephora customer and decided to stop by the Sephora Thousand Oaks store yesterday. I hadn't been there in 6 months. It saddens me to say that this Sephora's Customer Service is H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E. I was in there around noon on a Sunday. It wasn't that busy and i stood there with 2 foundation bottles in my hands and the 5 sales associates on the floor were completely oblivious to me and were too busy chit chatting with each other or playing with new products to assist me. One sales associate said, "Hello,' to me and walked by. After 10 minutes, I finally got the courage to ask one of the girls for a sample of the foundation. She gave it to me but I wasn't sure if it was a correct match. As I was leaving, I ran into the manager, I asked if i could be shade matched with the Color IQ machine. She referred me to Kevin, the makeup artist, and he gave me a hard time. He did not take the time to color match me by using the machine or by testing the foundation shades on my face. He just looked at the computer and said you are in between these 2 shades and asked me if I wanted a foundation sample of the lighter shade of the one I had previously received by the previous sales associate. I said, "Yes", got my sample and left. The shade he gave me was 2 shades too light. I left the mall immediately, bummed out by this experience and drove back to the Valley. if you want exemplary customer service at a Sephora, Please visit the Calabasas store. I have not experienced such laziness in customer service, the lack of caring to go above and beyond to solve a problem for a customer is very apparent in this location. Stacy is the store manager and the few times I've shopped here, she is not friendly nor helpful. I also expect from a store that is known for basically being the grocery store of cosmetics to be knowledgeable about the brands they carry.....that's also not what you'll find here. read more

Ok I absolutely love Sephora but this is the worst Sephora I have ever been to I honestly don't know why I keep coming back. I would rather drive to Westlake or Ventura just for the customer service. It's so hard to get help and when you do ask for someone to help color match it's like they are annoyed to help you out. I specifically asked if someone could match me using the color ID and was told yes so when the girl came around I told her what I was looking for but really wanted to use the color ID and she said.... ok but I don't want to use the color ID bc I don't really like it, so I went along with her and she matched me to a few foundations and now that I am home able to walk around on different lighting and outside in the daylight I can clearly see these foundations do not match me at all. I even bought one of the samples she made for me so I need to go exchange it now. This never fails when I visit the Thousand Oaks location and I keep going back just for the convenience but I'm officially done with this location. I will be making another trip today but to either Westlake or Ventura. read more

I am a VIB and have shopped at Sephora for years. I made my FIRST return EVER. I returned just a portion of a $400 online order I made during their VIB sale. The cashier was passive aggressive and rude about the return. All items I returned were new or barely tested and I was within 30 days of purchase - all in accordance with their return policy. She asked what was wrong with them all (with a negative tone) which I answered honestly as she closely looked over every single item. That's fine to verify they are new or barely used, but it is not okay to have an attitude during the process. When I told her that I should probably shop in store instead of online to be sure about the products first (although many of my returns were from a brand that they sell online, come to find out), she literally said, "yeah because this was a waste." Even my young daughter noticed the rude comment and service. I will never shop at Sephora again. I am cutting my VIB card. I went on Sephora's community board and found many others with the same complaint. NOT OKAY. read more

This review is strictly for their artist Kim! I was so impressed by her and I just had to make a yelp account and leave a good review for her. I was looking for her manager but it was really busy. What I loved about Kim is that she actually took her time to listen to what I wanted and gave me exactly what I needed. She is so knowledgeable, sweet, talented and her personality is out of this world. She did an eyebrow and foundation application and wow she has some skills! She got it right the first time and I've never experienced this with one of their other young artists. She also asked questions about how my skin is and showed me products that match my needs. I ended up buying $400 worth of product. I really wish we could have had more one on one but everyone kept pulling Kim away boo! But I am definitely going to be booking a makeup appointment to get my makeup done by her! GO KIM! Thanks for making my day much better! So here's what happened. I went in, had great sales experience, bought a bunch of stuff, went back to my hotel, and realized one of the lipsticks I had purchased hadn't made it into my bag. It happens. I called them right away, and they looked around but couldn't find it. Unfortunately, they were out of that particular color altogether but located it at another mall somewhat nearby. I explained that I was from out of town, not familiar with the area, and had an event to get to that evening. Megan, the assistant manager, actually offered to go to the other mall, pick it up for me, and DELIVER it to my hotel. WHAT?! I have never experienced customer service like that. When we got back that night, it was waiting for me at the hotel front desk, with a note apologizing for the inconvenience. Today I visited the location after work to purchase a Concealer. As I walked in I was immediately greeted by an employee named Jhovarre. He helped match a concealer with my face and took me over to the makeup studio to try it out. After applying the concealer to my half of my face, he asked for my opinions. After telling him what I thought he took my comments into mind, and made another recccomedation that i would possibly like. Then he applied the new makup to the other side of my face and I fell in love with it. Not only was the application process enjoyable, but he taught me step by step how to get desired looks and answered and questions that I ever had about specific makeup products. I was at the store and getting helped by Jhovarre for 2 Hours, and there was never a second that I felt he lost any enthusiasim or excitement in the products he was showing me. In result with the goal to only walk out with a concealer, I left with a makeup bag full of new makeup all reccomended by him. This was by far the best experience I have ever had at the store, and recommend him him to anyone that wants friendly/intelligent service. I will definitely return to this store, and look straight to Jhovarre for all my makeup needs :) read more
