I was ready to make a purchase but walked away disappointed with the level of service I got. 20 mins in, no staff came to ask if I need any help when I was obviously trying to look for something. When I looked around, staff were dismissive and pretended that they did not see me. Most obnoxious was when I asked a staff (yes, I had to walk up to her) for a recommendation, and the item I wanted was practically less than five steps away, the staff just pointed me in that direction. Stopped in after a meeting nearby this past week. Looking for a new fragrance to try, a set of new cosmetic brushes and a gift. Conservatively I would guess 6-8 employees were scattered throughout the store. Not counting the one fully engaged with a customer. NO ONE GREETED ME. No one offered to help. Not one single staffer even made eye contact or attempted to walk in my direction. 10 minutes and then I left. I'll be going elsewhere. read more

This is one of my favorite Sephora locations in the dmv area. It is usually stocked very well. I seldom am not able to find what I'm looking for. It's usually pretty busy when I go, but the associates are pretty attentive and always very helpful. read more

The location isn't a "full-sized" Sephora so I always check online first if they have what I need. The workers were friendly and helped me look for items that may have been available elsewhere in the store. Although, there was one worker that got a little too curious and emptied my bag/basket because she wanted to know what I was buying - that was a little strange, but she was friendly so I just laughed it off. My daughter had researched where to get advice for women with breast cancer on skin care/makeup that are going thru chemo. She found Ana at the FStreet location. Even tho they didn't have any classes going, Ana encouraged us to come in, she would do a one on one class. From beginning to end, it was the most wonderful experience of customer service I or my daughter had ever experienced. Ana's compassion, and encouragement were heartwarming. Want to start off by saying THANK YOU! Thank you to the sales associates at the F Street location for not following me around and acting shady and pretending to "organize" makeup around the area where I was standing just to keep an eye on me. Thank you for not talking about me on your headphones and directing associates to watch me as I walked through the store, cough cough...I'm looking at you Tysons Corner location! Yes, you! If I come into a Sephora, I'm here to spend money! I didn't reach VIB Rouge status by shoplifting!! So, stop assuming that everyone that walks through the door is shoplifting! I walked into this location and felt at ease. I felt like could wander around and play with the makeup. A couple of the employees came around to ask if I needed help but I didn't feel "watched". Thank you! I've been to pretty much all the Sephora's in the DMV area; Tysons Corner, Fair Oaks, Montgomery Mall, Columbia Mall and at all locations I've been followed and watched. You guys have a lot to learn from the F Street location. If you're experiencing increased theft in your store maybe you need to beef up security. Stop having your MUA/Sales Associates double as security/theft prevention. That is NOT their job! This will now be my go-to location! read more

So excited to have this Sephora open downtown. The store is on the smaller side and aisles can be a bit cramped because they are narrow. I stopped by today and was greeted by so many of their helpful staff. In particular, Mimi and Ana were super nice and helpful! Ana had beautiful eye makeup and she recommended some great products. Mimi was a beauty guru and really took her time to show me this how to use a new contour kit. I love how they also have free consultations at the beauty bar where you can get a quick tutorial on a wide variety of makeup techniques. Overall, wonderful store filled with helpful friendly staff with lots in stock since they had just opened last Friday. Such a pleasant Sephora experience, and I can't wait to return! read more

Walked into this location today. The high level of music made it impossible to make ANY selection (couldn't even hear my own thoughts AND I had a Sephora gift card so I was just trying to find something I might like without thinking of how much to spend). This is a really tiny space with a lot of things packed into it. Toooo many sales reps who just get on your way. It felt like I was going through a labyrinth of sales reps as I was just trying to get out. No disrespect bit I couldn't wait to get out of there. Can I just say how dangerous this is that they have a Sephora so close to my job! Literally every time I come here I am greeted right away and people are so polite and willing to help me with whatever I need. They are never trying to make me purchase anything that I don't need and if I tell them I am on a budget they do their best to work with me. It is very easy to go in and here spend a couple hundred dollars, so sometimes I have to tell myself, I can't spend that every time :) Overall, this store is in a great location. I work 2 blocks away so its nice place to go too even on my lunch break and just walk around and see what they have. I just love love love love love this place! read more

My experience at the F Street location in Washington, DC was disappointing. Ana was not knowledgeable at all. I showed her an in-store coupon for a fragrance set with a $35.00 purchase. Right away, she told me that she had never seen the coupon and said that I needed to talk to someone in fragrance. When I asked her to look for it, she said that the stores and the website don't do the same thing. I looked around for a bit until I overheard Ana talking about me with the person in fragrance, Ayeda. When I approached Ayeda, she was rude and said they did not have the sample set. She also took no time to look for it. I asked if she could find out where it was and she said I had to wait until she got someone else to cover the floor. I continued to browse and eventually made my way to check out. At that time Ayeda was still on the floor even though another associate had come out. She was ignoring me. I went back over to her and she rolled her eyes. I can't believe who rude these girls are. My check out experience with Siera was no better. I requested my 3 samples that you get with every order and she told me they were completely out! Hard to believe! Not a single associate was friendly or accommodating at this store. I suspect that the employees are taking the samples for themselves and telling customers that they have none. read more

I was really excited to see a Sephora opened up right by work. But the customer service made me NEVER want to go there again. I had gotten a NARS concealer sample in an online order and had to have it immediately. I walked in and got the up and down once over from the girl by the door, from the top of my head down to my shoes, before even saying hi. Okaaay..... but at least she helped me find what I was looking for. I starting browsing, and another girl comes up to me and says she saw no one else was helping me, and asked if she could help. Then she says, "Oh, it's payday right... you think you're a baller huh?" Clearly I declined her "offer" to help. I made my way through the store with no one else saying a word to me, and the payday girl then spreads the joke to her coworkers. Three or four of them standing around start laughing and go into this whole thing about how you always know it's payday because "they" go out to eat and buy all kinds of things. Made my way outta there and paid for my items. I just wanted to buy makeup, not have someone speculate about my ability to buy something TO MY FACE. It turned what could have been a fun experience to a WTF one. The beauty industry has a terrible reputation for this superior, catty attitude, and this Sephora exemplified it. Frustrated doesn't even begin to explain how I felt after having to switch my foundation color for the 2rd time in a week. And no, my skin tone didn't change, it's just that poorly trained/lazy employees kept giving me shades that left me looking all types of ashy. So I thought I would come to this Sephora (instead of the one in Gtown) and give it one last try. I asked one of the ladies to help me, but instead of helping me try on colors and giving me her "expert" opinion, she just handed me the makeup and walked away. Wait. ..what? I could have done that myself...and I would hate for you to misjudge how much $$ I spend in this place based off of my appearance. .so why blow off your VIB's? Then I asked another girl, who seemed (to a lesser extent) annoyed to be asked to do anything, and although she did spend more time with me, all she did was put a small swatch of the foundation on my cheek. Nah bruh, that's not going to work this time, and that's why we're in this predicament now. What happened to the Color IQ tool, which matched based off of 3 areas on your face? Me and my cousin went here to look for new makeup products they have more range here when we got in there was a security guard at the door he looked crazy I went on looking at the makeup as we looked there was a woman with a blonde bush that asked if we needed help I said no we are just looking she then walked away then we continued looking on then I started to notice her looking at us and she followed us as we checked the merchandise I started to feel as if she thought we was stealing I seen the security guard doing the same and it became overwhelming the staff here are just rude they have more men here working then I've seen in other stores it was starting to become uncomfortable nightmare we managed to find some items we went to grab makeup wipe to take off some makeup off our hand the security guard followed we seen so many workers looking rude and being petty I told my cousin it was a mistake going to this place the staff here needs to become more friendly and professional and needs to understand that women of all types and colors will want to look and try the makeup that doesn't mean they will steal when we went to check out the security followed us to the counter I thought it was strange how my experience was I asked for a number to call and report my experience I never went through this much at any Sephora I have a VIP membership so does my cousin trust me we don't need to steal from any place and to be treated like this was horrible please use caution when going in to look ... read more

HORRIBLE Customer Service! I went in looking for a specific product and upon entering the store, I saw several employees fraternizing with one another. Not one of them greeted me or spoke back when I spoke to them nor did anyone ask me if I needed any assistance. I ended up purchasing 1 item that I really needed and a fragrance caught my eye as I was leaving the store so I went over to smell it and ask for a sample. The young lady who made the sample for me, dropped the sprayer on the floor and stepped on it with her nasty shoes while bending to pick it up then she stuck the exact same sprayer inside of my perfume sample and handed it to me. I asked her why didn't she just throw it out and she looked at me like I was crazy and said "for what?" I just shook my head, thanked her and turned to walk out of the store. As I was turning, she asked for my email address and I asked her why did she need it. She frowned her face up and said we had e to ask customers for it. I told her that I didn't want to give her my email address and her facial expression and body language spoke volumes. This was my first time patronizing this location and my last. Also, she didn't look like she was at work. Instead, she looked as if she had just gotten out of bed with the same wrinkled, stained uniform and scarf on that she slept in. This was a very unusual and disappointing experience. My intent was to purchase more products but the employees helped me make the decision not to. Go Sephora! read more

I usually don't go out of my way to give feedback and unfortunately Sephora's online survey platform doesn't have this store listed yet . Though, nonetheless, I was in DC this past weekend visiting a friend. We just so happened to find a Sephora and figured since we were going to a Gala later that night to go in and do a make up mini. I worked with Nikki. She was both knowledgeable and fun, while also making friendly conversation. She patiently/attentively listened to my needs and I'm glad she brought me little out of my comfort zone. The products she recommended for colored women, I now LOVE. And Scarlet #8 are now my fave lashes. And let's not forget about the Glitter! Like if I could use glitter everyday, I would. Nikki flawlessly and magically sculpted and highlighted my face, giving me some great tips along the way. I forgot the name of the lady who helped my friend, but we both walked out elated and lowkey preserved our faces for church Sunday morning #IWokeUpLikeThis. If I were living in the area, I'd totally go back for classes. My experience in the store was phenomenal, from the greeters to the many many compliments, it was truly great. But what made this exceptional were these two ladies.... they were sooo much fun. I wish them both all the luck in their future endeavors. read more

Melina took the time to teach me about each step of the process and took the time to ensure everything was perfect. Not only is she a great makeup artist, but she was just a really nice person.
