"R/B TIRE" was written on the car's window upon return, apparently flagging that same tire. Renting out a vehicle with an unsafe tire puts customers at risk -- especially customers with young children. Budget should investigate how this happened, explain what its safety inspection found, and provide an appropriate refund.

She was super sweet and explained that the body shop would notify them once I was ready so they could send someone to pick me up. I remember thinking, I love her accent, I believe she was from England. She really made a great first impression. A little while later, a nice gentleman picked me up from the body shop. He was friendly, talkative, and overall made the ride enjoyable. But once I got to the rental office, the experience started to go downhill. I checked in with a gentleman that was very friendly, he told me it would be a nonsmoking vehicle and I'd be able to choose my car once they called me, I waited around 25 to 30 minutes before anyone helped me. Turns out I couldn't pick my car because there were hardly any left, so they had already assigned me a car. They gave me a Buick SUV. I'd been hoping for a sedan, but I was even more disappointed by the condition of the vehicle. I had specifically asked if it was a non-smoking car, and they said, "We believe so," then asked the guy bringing me to it if it smelled like smoke. He said no. But once I got in, the car smelled very stale. Not like full-blown smoke, but definitely musty. When I turned on the air circulation from inside the car, it got worse and started to smell smoky, so I had to keep the air on fresh from outside to avoid it. And the cleanliness? Honestly, it was bad. There was either a man's or per hair on the dashboard and hazard button, very dusty, some kind of sticky residue in the cupholders, and smudges all over the seats. It just didn't feel clean at all. On top of that, the brakes squeaked every time I used them, and the brake pedal was way too sensitive, which made driving kind of uncomfortable. I gave two stars because the initial phone call and pickup were both pleasant, and the staff I interacted with were polite. After 10 minutes of calls to the owners, they insisted that I present a work id, which was at home. I showed them my company phone and company apps with the company name and my name. She refused and stated only a company badge would do. I asked the counter attendant to wait 10 minutes while I went home and retrieved my id but she refused and said she had to close on time (I was only asking her for 5 minutes). They were able to get me into another one with no issues. The auto body shop needed to keep my car a little longer and I was worried how that would work with the rental but they worked it all out perfectly and it was never an issue. After dropping off my car at the nearby collision center, I headed over to this location. To my surprise, there was only one person working the front desk, with a line of more than eight customers and several others already waiting for their vehicles. The employee at the counter was incredibly fast, professional, and friendly, but he was clearly understaffed and doing the work of multiple people. There was another employee walking in and out with an iPad who seemed unsure of what to do and frequently had to be directed by the front desk attendant. Vehicle turnaround was extremely slow, making the entire process lengthy and frustrating. This is not a reflection of the employee who helped everyone so efficiently--he did an excellent job under difficult circumstances. The issue is with management not providing enough staff to support the demand at this location. Unfortunately, after waiting 40 minutes, I had to leave because I simply couldn't wait any longer. That's the reason for my low rating. :/
