The was the only Boba booth in the Farmers Market. The line was long but it moved along. All the Asian young adults at the farmers market comes here at some point during the evening. I hear the menu changes which is a great idea for the regulars. The bobas are the highlight of the drinks, they are infused with sweetness during cooking so as you chew it, the sweetness continues to shines through, not just eating dough but a dessert. Here are the flavors I got: Jasmine Guava - tastes like a Starbuck refresher and it is indeed refreshing. Korean Banana Milk - this was the best for me because banana flavor drinks are not common, definitely a special treat. I just recently got their house milk tea with boba which wasn't bad! I would definitely try asking for it with light ice as after a few sips it started to just taste like water. the boba definitely added to the sweetness but I wouldn't recommend the house tea as a first choice. i'm sequel's biggest fan!! and probably their most loyal/frequent customer haha i'm quite literally addicted to their drinks, and they've never once disappointed me :) their boba is always perfect in both texture and taste, and i'm a really picky texture person so i very much appreciate their ability to always have consistently chewy boba, never under/overcooked. their actual drink options are so unbelievably good and creative, i've been getting the hojicha w/ salted crema lately and i like the korean banana milk too!! but my go-to absolute favorite is definitely the mango matcha latte, it beats any mango matcha i've ever had in the bay area or socal and i will die on this hill. the workers + owner are all so nice, and they all know me now from how often i go, which is just slightly embarrassing on my part i will say... but it's always so fun chatting with them, they always have a smile on their faces and my drinks ready for me to pick up (much appreciated when i'm in a rush)! it's also so cool seeing so many cal poly students working there that i recognize now on campus or that my friends and i know already! it's such a friendly environment, so thank you sequel for making your shop such a fun place to visit whenever i need a lil pick-me-up!! all i need now is for you guys to have a shop in the bay read more

The drinks I've had from sequel, I love. I think relative to other boba stops, their ingredients are so clean and fresh. Today I'm really bummed because I ordered a strawberry milk on DoorDash. It said it was just milk, strawberry puree, and boba. The drink arrived with a cream topping. I'm pregnant so I tried calling several times to ask if the topping included egg yolk, which would make the difference between if I can or can't drink it. I googled and saw another item has an egg yolk cream, but it's also not listed on the menu that way. I've not gotten through or received correspondence back. I'm also worried that if it does include egg yolk that it's not listed on the menu, as it's an ingredient consumers should know about, especially to be inclusive of different kinds of consumers, like me with more restrictions than usual. I visited Sequel during Thursday's farmers market downtown. This is the boba shop that I wish I had when I was a student at Cal Poly. The seasonal flavors are unique. The tea is smooth and is neither overly sweet or bitter. And the boba!!! It's the perfect texture (just the right amount of QQ for those of you who know ). I think you will find that the other boba spots in SLO have a less consistently soft texture. Also! For the lactose intolerant friends, they do offer oat milk substitutes. Friends recommended Sequel and we were eager to try them while in the area on vacation. We stopped by their SLO Public Market location and saw there was a line (good sign) that moved fairly quickly. Got to try the jasmine guava drink at the Farmer's Market and am so happy there's a shop like this in SLO now :) The tea is so nicely balanced that the guava doesn't overtake the whole drink, and the boba is so soft and sweet that I'd probably just eat it with a spoon on its own.
