Never again! I sent my teenage daughter to place an large order for our family. The woman behind the counter informed her that with an order over $100 there is a mandatory 15% gratuity... No big deal, I totally understand. The bill came to around $140 but my daughter, who doesn't know better, was confused by the whole concept. So she asked her "I have to pay 15% on top of the $140 dollars?" And this greedy employee told her "yes". The actual total for the food was less than $110. This woman tried to screw over a young girl whom she knew she had confused! No integrity at all! Boycott this place until that worthless employee, by the name of Kate is fired! When I need a quick Korean food fix when in Sequim, this is where we go. Come to think of it, this might be the only place we go to lunch in Sequim! My personal favorites here are the Bibim Bap and the Tofu Soup (chigae). The Bibim Bap is cooked in a clay pot, so it gets that nice crust on the bottom of the rice. The sauce is just right, not too sweet like I have experienced at other places, and they are generous with the veggies. You must eat this dish there, though, to get the full experience. It's not the same in a to go box. The tofu soup is comforting and delicious, perfect on a cold day. And don't forget the kimchi as a side! My husband says they have the best sesame chicken here, and I have to agree. It's still crispy and not completely drenched in sauce. Yes, it's a tad bit pricier, but I'm happy to pay a little extra when the quality is this good. read more

My first review: Being a Washington native, I have had my fair share of teriyaki all over the state. This place is a tadmore expensive compared to some other places, but I have to hand it to the Korean-American owner, Jin, and man behind the genuine taste of all their dishes. I will always pay for quality and this place brings the quantity as well. I come to Sequim often for work in the bay area, and always stop by here for my lunch. I recommend the chicken breast teriyaki because it's a different marinade from the regular (thigh meat) chicken. The sauce is honestly the best I have tasted, and even better than ICHI Teriyaki in Lynnwood, WA. I would also recommend the salmon teriyaki. Decent cut and crispy outside. Oh the salad dressing with the salad is something else too. It's a vinegary, sesame, and mayo type dressing and I could probably eat that all day. If you're a big boy or want the whole package, go with the super combo! But I must say, any fried rice is great. The eggs, vegetables, meat, and the rice combined in the wok, you can't beat the flavor and the earthy fire taste. I can't pinpoint the spices used, but it's definitely out of sight. Haha, I feel like Guy Fieri, right now! I recently, started trying the Korean entrees and on a cold winter's day, I recommend the spicy beef brisket stew. Just dump the rice in the soup pot and have it with the cold kimchi. It's just a great taste. I took my uncle here one time, and he said, it reminded him of Korea back in his day, so that's got to mean something IMO. He loves the seafood pancake and the dipping sauce. I like the bulgogi beef and ask for extra mushrooms and onions too. It's almost like a teriyaki-type marinade, but not as it's Korean. Hah. I wish my wife could cook food as great as Jin and the other cooks in there, but coming into the diner, it's set nicely and has a bunch of paintings that are plastered on the wall for sale. It's something different, but I can dig it. Jin also recently set up several TV's and it made his place better in terms of enjoyment while eating a meal. Sometimes, it can get real busy, but the food normally takes about ten minutes tops. I highly recommend this place if you want something different from Chinese food (they do have several items). I know, I sound like a fatty, but I am truly a fan of this place and wish it were closer to where I actually lived. It seems like the business does well, and the owner, Jin, who I have spoken to every time I am there is a real nice guy. You can tell he works all days and works hard. You know the mom and pop restaurant type, like most of the places in Sequim. I wish him well and thank him for providing great food at a decent price. That's why I wanted to write this. Typical "shopping mall style" teriyaki. Yet I've had surprisingly good shopping mall teriyaki. NOT HERE! I've been going for some time now. Not much else in the area. It's always been underwhelming. I ordered a chicken teriyaki. My food was not even hot. Barely lukewarm. I didn't see any steak rising, the rice was barely warm. I was starving and ate some but it wasn't very good. Rude staff, really dirty, they close an hour or more before posted time... only good thing is the chicken teriyaki and tempura is delicious... I love this place so much. Food is delicious and nutritious. The waitresses/cashier are very nice and very focus. It is not a cheap place to eat but the waiting time and the price of the dishes are worth it. You can split a dish easily or take home the leftovers because portions are very generous. I visited Washington a while back and I was craving some asian food so bad. Luckily I found Sequim Bento Teriyaki :D It's a cute little joint, seems like its really popular for take out. We came between lunch/dinner time around 4:15.. and came right at a perfect time. Just missed the lunch rush (thank goodness). BUT we were sad we missed the lunch special for $7.95 :/ I came with a a few of my friends so I was able to try a few things on the menu. PS HUUUUUUUGE portions. The prices are pretty fair for the amount you're given. Only regret is not saving the pictures of the food we ate. Anywho.. . CHICKEN TERIYAKI: so delish. I'm not a huge teriyaki fan but the chicken was so moist and the teriyaki sauce was perfect. just found myself keep going back for more and more. Plus huge portions of rice and salad. FRIED RICE: we got the shrimp fried rice. SO amazing. again, huge portions. but of course, not only is quantity is great, but the quality is superb. MONGOLIAN BEEF: ah, the much adored chinese dish. it's either wrong or right. but this place def got it right. the marination was so perfect and it wasn't too saucy, but not too skimpy either. beef was tender and perfect sized. Ah now I wish I had some right now. We didn't order any bento boxes, I don't know why because the name is BENTO teriyaki. It's a pretty good price for a little more extra variety... but next time I'm in Washington, most def stopping by here again. This place is always hoppin'! I can recommend pretty much anything on the menu. If you're looking for "fast food Chinese" I really love the teriyaki chicken and the general tsao's chicken. They are made fresh for each order, so the chicken is crispy and flavorful. They are both large portions, plenty to share or save for another meal. If you are looking for more traditional Korean fare, the bibim bop or Bulgogi are both excellent. Finally, the bento boxes of sushi and tempura are also fresh, filling, and flavorful. The only reason I didn't go 5 stars is because of the dining room and common area. It's not disgusting by any means, but it's not fantastically clean or appetizing either. The floor always seems to need mopping, the walls are a little grimy with peeling wallpaper. The bathrooms need a good scrub, and the hallway to the bathroom is piled high with boxes, inventory, etc. That being said,if I could have gone 4.5 stars I would have. read more

This place is very reliable in that it has good food, and great prices. I really like the plates that they bring the meals out on. Very big, really pretty, great for the piles of food that they offer. This time we had the chicken teriyaki, their specialty, which was great as usual. We also had the General Tso's chicken. It was very crispy and delicious, and my favorite part about it is the ability to choose the level of spiciness, on a scale from 1-5. I don't like it burning, so I got a 2, which was perfect. Probably one of my favorite General Tso's anywhere. Only 4 stars because I had the side of fried prawns, and they were just a little bit soggy, like the batter hadn't been fried long enough. Good teriyaki with generous servings but had to give it only three stars because the phone service is absolutely frustrating and the worse of any restaurant in Sequim. Often you are left indefinitely on hold or they just lay the phone down after answering. Seriously, the girls up front are not cut out for customer service work. This is one of my favorite restaurants in town. My husband suggested trying this restaurant about 2 years ago and we became regulars. :) We were very surprised by big portion and the fact that food is quite tasty. Being Korean.. I was pleasantly surprised after trying their Korean dish.. especially.. bibimbop and beef stew. The price is not cheap but considering portion and quality... it is worth it.
