I'm largely trying to eat low-carb, so I went in planning to order sushi without rice. My server, Haejoo, recommended the poke bowl instead, and I'm really glad I took her advice. I was starving after not eating all day, so I ordered the poke bowl over a salad base with Krab, Shrimp, Tuna, and Salmon. The portions were epic! I easily could have ordered just two proteins and been perfectly satisfied. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The restaurant has a bright, welcoming interior with lots of natural light from the windows and pleasant lighting over the tables. Service was excellent! They checked on me regularly. It was the perfect location for me (in a sushi mood) and the Dude (in a teriyaki mood), as we both got what we wanted and it was all fresh and delicious. I especially enjoyed my miso soup, Poulsbo Roll, and hamachi nigiri. Dude loved his pork teriyaki bento. What put this place over the top was the incredible and friendly service! I give this 5 stars because we visited 2 times within a week after our first visit Lol. We are used to eating fresh caught tuna from friends who sprearfish in CA and fresh caught salmon here in WA so were surprised to find the fish here to taste really fresh and clean. We enjoyed it more than we thought we would! The second visit was as consistent as the first. Orange Blossom is our go-to so far, but the bento box did not disappoint either. My husband and I are always wondering if it's worth going across the bridge to find good sushi, but we found out after dining here that it absolutely is worth staying on this side of the water! As Poulsbo residents, my wife and I were aware of Mori Sushi and Bento, but for some reason, never had ventured in - big mistake! We went there for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and were very pleasantly surprised at how good the food was, the fairly expansive menu, and the high quality service. We ordered from the sushi menu, the bento menu, and the Chinese menu. Amazingly it was all excellent! I am not sure of whether the sushi chefs and the other staff are related, but it definitely had a warm family atmosphere. I am also not sure why the restaurant only has (4) stars on Yelp, but I think that they definitely are a 4.5 to 5 star experience, especially for Poulsbo where mediocre food is the norm given that it is such a tourist destination. read more

Myself and my two boys generally enjoy the sushi rolls, but today was very different; as in, bad. We ordered a Poulsbo and a Super dragon roll atop of other's. But the Super Dragon and Poulsbo both were terrible! The ingredients used to produce these rolls tasted as if the fish was left out for a day or two, boarder line rancid. My youngest began to vomit after his second piece while my oldest someone simply refuse to continue to eat his Poulsbo. I go out of my way to support locally owned Asian businesses, esp in smaller cities, because my family owned one when I was growing up, and I know how tough it can be to be successful. I was really excited coming here and had a real craving for sushi and udon. Throughout our whole dinner, no one checked on us once. We watched as the waitress literally walked by each and every table in the restaurant and asked how they were doing and looked at our table and didn't say a thing. We had to flag someone down to get extra napkins and a utensil and again, had to flag someone for the bill. I also go out of my way to be extra polite and kind to service workers, it's a tough job. This small restaurant in Poulsbo is a little off the beaten path but serves pretty good food. My GF had a couple of the rolls, both with shrimp tempura inside that she enjoyed. She liked the "crunchy roll" the best. I had the ton-katsu with curry. The breaded pork a little tough, but flavorful. It was not served with "bulldog" sauce. The curry was good but seemed to be only vegetables. The miso soup was also good. I wish restaurants would quit serving miso soup either way a spoon. Japanese drink from the bowl. No spoon needed! I met an old college from there who came from Seattle and was driving through from the ferry. Even though it was lunch on a weekday, it took a good 20 minutes to be seated. That's how busy the place was. We had a great lunch! We shared many different sushi items as well as some veggie tempura. Thoroughly flavorful food! I was having a great time sampling the multiple sushi rolls we got. Service was very friendly and just overall a warm place to be. Parking is right out front and it is in the strip-mall variety. Three words I would use to describe the experience of dining here is yummy, cute, and quick. The food was delicious and authentic, service was incredible with quick and precise deliveries. The restaurant environment was cute , peaceful, not to loud, but not to quiet. We got two bentos and a few rolls, although the selection of rolls was slightly limited it made up for it with how good the rolls actually were.
