My go to place when I want a good roadside burger. My favorite part is ordering a regular fries and being able to feed a small army.

Honestly I'm not sure why this place isn't rated better! Is it the place for a first date? Probably not. It is perfect for a quick bite on the way through town. This place looks like it's part of the history here, I hope someone takes care of it for the years to come. (Some good TLC, elbow scrubbing could be used ASAP) Our burgers were delicious, layered in fresh ingredients and smothered in sauce. The young girl working was polite and patient with us while we checked out the menu. We got a small Cajun fry which was half a bag! They were crispy and seasoned to perfection. The place is not much to look at but the burgers are solid. My only complaint is the rediculous quantity of fries. A small order is easily enough for 3 to 4 people. They came in a #4 brown paper bag that was half full! Suggestion, cut the fry price by a dollar and the portion size by 60%. Be prepared to wait about 10 minutes, worth the wait as everything is freshly prpared to order. Both indoor and outdoor seating. read more

Okay, I'll be the first to admit it isn't easy for me to give5 stars to an old school burger shack. But I gotta tell you they serve the very best BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger possibly in the entire Universe. Lol Angus beef, Swiss cheese (my preference but your choice), smoky bacon, onion rings and my absolute favorite BBQ sauce ever. I recently moved and stopped in to order food for a friend helping me. The order for one was about $23 for the BBQ Bacon Cheese Burger, house made onion rings and a drink. I think I made a remark like you guys must be proud of your food. But the laugh was on me. The food is great but when you call to place an order they put you on hold for 5 minutes, which is obviously just a running joke to the kids that work there. It takes 15 seconds to take a phone order. Ok fine, I'll come place my order in person and sit around there for 10 minutes. They still absolutely deserve 5 stars. These are average old school hamburgers. Too expensive for what you get. Just my opinion.

Every time I get a shake here it's melted and flavorless. The fries are In N Out style but clearly frozen so worse. Their burgers aren't anything special, and their fish is absolutely disgusting (obviously this is a burger spot but why even have the option if the quality isn't good?). Their location is takeout exclusive, unless you like sitting in a hot box. This last visit was truly terrible, maybe just a bad day. I think service gets a negative too just because they didn't really seem to care and served a pretty bad meal. I remember a few years ago this place was absolutely banging so it's kind of a bummer the management has let the quality drop this bad. Giving it 2 stars just for prior good experiences. I stopped in with my mother and brother on our way back from the beach. The small hole in the wall serves delicious hamburgers. We got one order of fries that could've served about six people. I liked their hamburgers, cause they were just regular simple old-fashioned burgers. The fries were very good too. They have a place in the back that has picnic tables and an awning it was rather warm so I forgot to take pictures The people behind the counter are very nice I would definitely go back the next time. I want to have a good hamburger which isn't very often, but this is a place to go for hamburgers and fries. read more

My fiancée walked to this place after calling in an order. She clarified no cheese on her food, they said it back to her. After arriving she walked back home to find cheese in her food, went back again to get at least decent customer service but the people today 2/4/26 4 pm bullied her, she walked to the store next store to get help from the owner, he gave her money back and said keep the food for the inconvenience and went to grab it from the restaurant but the employees declined and said no, I will insist to anyone who talks about this place find a kinder spot. I've wavered on whether I should be allowed to review this place. Our house was up the hill and I've gone here since I was younger than my kids are now. The Redwood Burger is what I think every hamburger should taste like. The breading on the onion rings is light and perfectly browned. My elder son loves the chicken nuggets for their extra crispy coating and the French Fries, which he says are like In-n-Out's, but better. The milkshakes have always been a favorite too. I'm pretty sure they used to have more flavors, but COVID has forced most restaurants to curtail their offerings. They've never been the fastest and that's still the case. It's a tiny kitchen and they handle a steady volume of business. We were quoted 10-15 minutes, but it was over half an hour wait. The man before us got impatient waiting for his. My advice is, try not to roll in hangry, take a deep breath, but then enjoy. It'll be hot off the grill or out of the fryer when they hand it to you! read more

Fabulous little roadside Hamberger stand! The order taker was very pleasant and patient with us and suggested the small Cajun fries for two people instead of the large. Can't imagine how big the large fries would be because with the small we got a ton of fries! Burgers were great and prices very reasonable. The dining area needed cleanup and I didn't care for the tinny radio that was playing, but the experience was otherwise enjoyable. Working in the area I saw this shack of a burger spot and said I'd check em out when I'm off. I was fortunate to have a lunch break before going to a second location miles away and I utilized the opportunity to eat here. Decent parking area as they share a lot with a small market off the main road. I ordered a single patty redwood burger without onions and tomato so it wasn't monstrous by any means. I also got an order of fries that took me by surprise. I didn't check the menu if they have other sizes but I got more than I bargained for so be aware ahead of time. 1 order of fries could feed a Russian family for weeks during the cold War. The burger hit the spot and was the perfect size for the situation. There was no sacrifice in flavor due to the meat to bread ratio like many places can have. The food was prepared in reasonable time and the bearded man that took my order and gave me my food had top tier customer service. I appreciated that a lot. I probably won't drive 70 miles to eat her on my off time but if you're nearby at any point and hankering for a delicious burger.. this is your destination read more

We came here based on the reviews. Didn't realize until after there is more seating our back. Ordered the mushroom burger, bbq burger, fries and a shake. As mentioned you get a TON of fries- they are not salted, but salt is available. Because of the portion size and it appears they hand cut them giving them a 4. Mushroom burger - assembled nice- all the fixings (I added pepperjack cheese). I wish the mushrooms were fresh and grilled- they are canned. Burger was good - I'd probably get it again. 3.5 Hubby got the bbq burger. Splash is bbq sauce on one side of the bun- patty and onion ring... no fixings, dry, and a big let down. He would not get it again... 2 If we lived In town- maybe the hype is over the fries and decent burger - but we wouldn't go out of our way to come back. If we were really hungry and just passing by we would probably give it another try to support a small family business. read more

1st time here, a relative told me about the place, we ordered 2 burgers, and a fish sandwich. They were all good edible. Not as juicy as we would ha e liked them... What can you say it is a side road, burger spot. What I didn't like was the service... the kid, taking the order, had this look when he took my order, and just so bland, not even a good afternoon or anything... I have to be honest this place is average, I would give maybe four stars however the price point is to high for what ypu get. Now I ater hear several times throughout the years, but I always have to say to myself it it worth the price. Usually, it's someone else who wants to go. I came here with my kids once and ordered the chicken nuggets for my youngest. I walked by the kitchen and saw an employee taking nuggets out of a bag of foster farms nuggets. The exact bag I could by at Safeway for about the price they ask for for the kids meal. The burgers are again average and they proudly display signs saying grass fed meat. I do believe this but also think the patties may be frozen. The best meal I have ordered were the fish and chips. Even then the chips were sub par. The service is always good and the keep the place clean. Just not worth what you pay for and what you get. read more

Decided to give it a try and I really think they are not getting enough credit. Went on a busy Saturday afternoon. Staff was FRIENDLY. Place was CLEAN. Service was QUICK. Burgers are good. A hit of salt and pepper while the burgers are on the grill, would go a long way, but they are still good. Chicken sandwich is good. The fries. They get a lot of press because the large is a huge amount. But they are really good ESPECIALLY for hand cut fries. In and out does hand cut and they are awful. These are thick cut and crispy, salty, fluffy on the inside, good fries. 2 burgers, 1 chicken sandwich, large fries: $38. That's not unreasonable for good burgers and fries. Sorry, but their burgers are cardboard. Yeah they give you a huge bag of greasy fries but that doesn't make up for a cardboard burger. I don't expect that much from a roadside burger place, but I expect more than Sequoia delivers. That my general impression of the establishment is an impression of filth doesn't help. Went to get burgers today on our way back from Petaluma. Nice & sunny outside, & the place was packed as usual. Anyway, I got the redwood burger with everything on it, & a small strawberry shake & small fry. Well, first the small fries could easily feed 3 ppl. What a deal! The shake was delicious, and the hamburger was lip smacking good! They put thousand island dressing on it, Yum! My hubby got the Double Sequoia burger with everything on it. No thousand island dressing. This one has mustard, Mayo, & ketchup. Also, onions, pickles, tomato's, & lettuce. He got a vanilla shake & loved it. And he will be eating all my left over fries. I've driven by this place every time I've visited Sebastopol and have thought "man, I REALLY need to go in here." It's a divey joint that looks like it serves up some greasy but tasty burgers, a variety of fried sides, and some delicious milkshakes. Upon arrival, I can confirm that it is indeed that kind of spot. I ordered the Cajun burger, a regular side of Cajun fries, and a large drink for my visit. Total came to about $16, but I feel like that's expected from a mom and pop type of burger joint. There were lots of people already there, so I was excited that my impression of the storefront was correct and that I'd be dining in Flavortown soon. As you can see from the picture, the regular side of fries is insane. I imagine you could split a regular four ways with ease. The large size isn't much more expensive, either. Maybe a $1 more. I can't even imagine what that looks like. The burger was just okay. I think alongside a tower of fries like that, a single patty burger with no special fixings can be a little plain by comparison. It was tasty - don't get me wrong - but I'd definitely get a larger burger or something a little more adventurous on my next visit in lieu of fries. That is, unless I know someone will share the fries with me. Only real downside is the food does take a bit of time (us usually a good sign that it's made to order), and the seating is outside. While most of it is covered, you are still relatively exposed to the elements. I had to go back to my car to grab an additional jacket while I waited. Overall a good spot, and a menu I will play around with more on my next visit. read more

Truly disappointed to rate them poorly. I ordered a double meat cheeseburger with all the fixings. I didn't order how the meat would be cooked (I prefer MR) and wasn't asked --- which I expect and fine with for drive-up burgers. Anyway, the patties were dry and tough --- over well-done by any measure. Not even the cheese and fixings were enough to compensate for dry meat. I didn't finish. Fresh-cut fries were awesome. I got cajun spices. Small order was HUGE. Go easier on the beef, folks. I'd love to come back for a juicy burger sometime! read more

Oh boy where do I begin. Went to get burgers for my grandbabies and I think this is the worst experience I have ever had at the place. I have been coming here since the 80"s. I ordered 3 Kids hamburger meals and when I got home the burgers were dried out and the buns were stale. I ordered them with pickles on and of course there were none. I am not sure why this place has gone down hill. Let's get to the part where I don't know if I will ever come back..... There was a man in the back not sure if he was the owner/managers but he was back there yelling at the kids working. Very un-professional. I could hear ever word he was saying. Not a good example or experience for a new or old customer. If I were any of those kids I would have walked out off the job after being verbally abused and cussed at. Shame on him for being such a bully to his employees. I know these kids need their job but no one under any circumstances should ever have to work under these kind on conditions.
