I was excited to try this place to take a break from all the delicious PR food we'd been enjoying on our vacay. Things started to disappoint early, as the waiter forgot to bring the burrata cheese that I ordered. I ended up ordering a pizza that I did not realize came without tomato sauce, so I asked for a side of tomato sauce. The waiter brought an entire bowl of sauce and charged me $3 for it. By the way, the pizza was just average...not what I expected from a place with a wood burning oven. To top everything off, we ordered the apple pie for dessert and it came out burnt and charred beyond anything salvageable. read more

OMG.. I am totally beyond satisfied. I'm a tough critic when it comes time to rate Italian food. This place has the best Italian food I have ever tasted in a long time . Loved the food. Prepare for a long wait, as it is connected to the La Concha resort. The marguerita pizza was excellent, with the ingredients not overwhelming the thin crust and each ingredient being flavorful. Location is great, decor is fab. I ordered a fab cocktail and porcini mushroom risotto. Straight off the bat: if servers aren't wearing masks--2 points off the bat--that's really unacceptable and sloppy. I noticed both the bar tender and the manager wipe their noses with hands, then adjust their masks and keep going... they did not wash hands or sanitize. Gross. . Secondly they have gluten free pasta but their sauces have flour in it... so celiacs be ware and stick to risottto, salad. The risotto was lovely except there was far too much salt. I just want to start off and say my initial experience at Serfina was amazing. The food was fantastic and I had a delightful server. My card was charged immediately and I left over a 20% tip because I was beyond satisfied. HOWEVER, I am now rating everything 1 star because Serfina has somehow taken my card numbers down or SCAMMED ME in another way taking out money from my account OVER A MONTN LATER. This is absolutely absurd, I called management and they were not accommodating, the hostess tried to speak on behalf of management and overall I hung up UNSATISFIED AND WITHOUT AN APOLOGY. We go to Serafina in NYC all the time and are also staying at their hotel while visiting San Juan. The restaurant is gorgeous, seriously one of the best looking restaurants I have ever seen. The food was just okay, the pizza and salad were great. The steak was mediocre at best. The desserts were literally pathetic, like seriously guys raise your standards. Also something that I didn't expect is the amateur service. We interacted with 2 of the wait staff, both were uneducated in the menu, disinterested, indifferent and flat out awkward. My friends raved about this place and we've always walked by and were intrigued as it always seemed busy Food: 4-5 stars, a little pricey but delicious * mushroom risotto: personally there was nothing special about this dish and for risotto it was just overpriced. They were not very friendly and I had to wait 70 mins for a pizza when other diners had their food paid and left before I ate. The pizza was good but I was so upset about the wait I only ate one slice. Not to mention my guests never showed up so the experience was ruined. Very good pizza. It was perfectly crispy. The waiters were amazing, after appetizers which we got the amazing bruschetta, they take your plate & clean up & set your table for your main course. The atmosphere was casual. A few people were dressed for dinner as a few others had on a t-shirt and sneakers. The margarita was decent but the sangria I would not recommend. As an appetizer, I had the burrata and smoked salmon. AMAZING!!!! For dinner, I had the spaghetti with meatballs, nothing to write home about, but still good. I'd order it again. Other meals at the table consisted of the lobster ravioli and steak. Everyone truly enjoyed their meal. We wish we would have dined here earlier in our trip. I decided to give this spot another try and brought my whole family here. The restaurant itself is very beautiful and has an amazing outdoor area with a closing plastic roof to protect you from the rain. I ordered the calamari as the app and it came with a cute little lemon bag so no lemon seeds were dropped when squeezing onto the calamari. It was cooked perfectly and wasn't chewy at all with a little bit of the panko crunch on the outside. The linguine with clams was my main dish. I was surprised that it came with a red sauce but tasted great! It was full of "rustic" chunks of tomatoes, garlic, onion, and parsley. It was very well seasoned and the clams weren't chewy. I was very pleasantly surprised and would try this pasta dish again. My hubby ordered the pepperoni pizza and thought it was decent but not out of this world (or perhaps we had high expectations after seeing the outdoor pizza oven :-)) Either way this is a super pretty place, it's awesome for date night and people watching as well. Overall, this was mediocre at best. The food was all very salty and definitely overpriced for what it was. Our waiter was very nice, so the service was the only piece that brought up the rating. We did witness an employee leave the bathroom stall without washing his hands, so that was a bit of a turn off for me as well. For a Tuesday night this place was very busy. It would've been a 45 minute wait if we didn't get seats at the bar area. The restaurant is very clean and I love the warm ambiance that encompasses the bar area. We originally came for their famous lobster ravioli, however they were out of that option. We almost left but decided to try the truffle pizza instead. It took a solid 15 minutes to have our pizza come out, to have it be the wrong pizza. Since the pizza oven was backed up the bartender let us keep the Margherita pizza since the truffle pizza would be another 20 minutes. The Margherita was fair, but nothing you couldn't get a Rise Pizza at the mall. Anyone would be foolish to pay $17 for such a basic dish. At the time we were grateful they gave us the Margherita but it kind of ruined our appetite for the truffle pizza, which is why we came. The truffle pizza was so overloaded with cheese that the truffle oil kind of got lost in the greasy oil. We certainly enjoyed the pizza but I wish it had a more trufffly taste. I went here last night with friends that live in Puerto Rico. Service was horrible, didn't clear dirty dishes away unless we asked. I had the linguine with clams, calamari and lobster tail. The sauce was supposed to be a red slightly spicy sauce. The dish was absolutely dry. Told our waiter, he brought the assistant manager over who didn't say a word, took it away and brought it back with some non descriptive sauce, so bland. Put it down in front of me without a word. I'm telling you my experience, but something was wrong with every order. No apology, nothing. Our bill was 400.00. Best music, best Italian, and best service on the island, right in the heart of Condado. My friends and I love to come here for their great appetizers. We love the polpette- handmade amazing meatballs with a lovely dollop of mozzarella cheese- and the calamari. They're always hot and fresh. We also tried the pizza bread with the polpette last time- DON'T MISS OUT ON THAT because it was SO GOOD, and we're so glad our server recommended it. For our entrees, my friends always get their delicious pasta linguine frutti di mari (seafood linguine), and I've tried their margherita pizza, their lobster ravioli, and their porcini ravioli. They're all great. The service is also spectacular. Whoever takes care of our table is always nice and jokes around with us, bringing our food in a timely manner and making great suggestions. They have a lovely outdoor area and indoor seating, and the music is always great- all the hits but they're not so loud as to interrupt your conversation while you eat. The hostess was rude and didn't do a good job at explaining how to put your name down to be seated at a later time. Ended up coming back for lunch the next day and the food was fantastic!
