We were wary of this place while on vacation. We've eaten in the finest Italian places NY and NJ have to offer, so we know great Italian food. This is one of my favorites restaurants in Puerto Rico. The ambience is just too perfect, relax, chic and modern at the same time. The food quality is one of the best, really recommend any pasta. When we came to Puerto Rico we stayed at La Concha, so we saw Serafina right next door and decided to give it a try. The food was pretty good. I got the Farfalle Al Limincello. It wasn't amazing, but I finished it all so it was fulfilling. My friend got a table pizza that was thin crust with pepperoni, bacon, and ham and that was delicious. I also had a very tasty house salad with balsamic vinegarette. One thing I wasn't crazy about was that the service was a little slow. But we are used to fast service in the South of the US and I've come to realize in other places it's not like that. They just don't do things as fast as we do. There were 10 of us out to dinner on our first night in Puerto Rico. The experience at Serafina was mediocre at best. We were seated quickly without reservations which was impressive and the decor was very inviting. However, the service was slow, the pizza was cold when it arrived, and one persons food was forgotten. It took over an hour and a half to get 3 pizzas and kids pasta. When we expressed our disappointment it was brushed off. We finally asked for our bill to be discounted or at least the forgotten meal to be comped. The general manager was not excited to do this but asked the right question- what can I do to make this a better experience? read more

Support staff was hustling, but we had to follow up to remind them to bring the wine, the appetizer (which arrived after the mains), and the pizza for the kids-- but suddenly they were super fast and all over us the second we got up to use the restroom (like we would leave?) and to bring the check. If you're thinking about trying this place save yourself the time and money. I came here for dinner at around 930, the scenery is nice but what you get for your money will leave you very unsatisfied. The drinks were weak and made you question if the put alcohol in them at all. I ordered a wing appetizer that had a weird breading on it; and to be frank it was disgusting so I sent it back. To explore the menu more I tried the garlic oregano and basil pizza, with mozzarella added. The pizza was thin with a excellent flavor to the marinara sauce. My entree was was a chicken Alfredo that I really didn't enjoy. The pasta was all clumped up together, I had to use my muscles to work it lose so I could eat it....lol.. I ordered my dessert to go and this is a large part of why they received two stars because I'm HUGE on desserts. I ordered a apple pie with ice cream. When I got back to my room showered, and was ready to dig into my pie, I found a disgusting,dry, no juice or moisture in sight pie... y'all check out the pics. I tried to eat it but I told myself not to worry about it, and that hopefully my review will help a fellow yelper that's on vacation exploring what Puerto Rico has to offer. We also had a bottle of wine which was very affordable and our server was very attentive. The bread was a bit hard upon coming out, but we just asked for softer bread and it was fine. I tried the pasta with the chicken mushrooms and peas, phenomenal! My husband and I have been on Puerto Rico for a week now and this place was by far our best experience. We were hesitant to book here because the menu was more Italian style than we wanted. We normally only look to experience cultural meals from wherever we travel. This restaurant was outside our comfort zone but we are so happy we did it. Our waitress was amazing. She was by far the best server we had during our trip. The entire staff was very attentive to anything we needed which was a change up from all the other restaurants we have gone to during out trips. The drinks were all very well made. My favorite was the espresso martini so make sure you try that! We ordered the most delicious mushroom ravioli we have ever eaten. The flavor was like nothing I've ever experienced. We absolutely loved the vibe here. We were slightly upset to be placed in the indoor seating area because outside is so beautiful. After sitting inside we realized it was equally as nice being outdoors because of the textured ceilings, light up letters and light fixtures. We totally loved this place and will recommend it to any one! This is a must experience restaurant but make sure you book a reservation. *Avoid, don't let the cool looking ambiance fool you. Try other Italian restaurants or local Puerto Rican cuisine instead if you're visiting. It's extremely rare that I ever feel that service is so bad that I don't leave a tip but unfortunately after eating here, I just couldn't manage to leave one. I'm someone that ALWAYS leaves minimum 20% even with mediocre service. I know how hard it is to be a server and that they rely on these tips. However, tips are based on service, and it was terrible here. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the hostess who checked really quickly if there were seats for two and told us there wasn't anything available. She didn't even give us the option to wait in the sitting area even though she had given the people in front of us that option. Never have I been in a restaurant where they don't give us that option. I ended up telling her we would just wait until a table was available. Literally 2 minutes later they had a table (that was empty when we got there) available for us. Like why would they say there wasn't anything available then? We get to our table and are greeted by the server "Ana C" from what the receipt said. I never call out names but honestly I've never had such a careless server in my life. She barely greets us and asks if we wanted anything to drink. Then asks if we were ready to order like basically a minute after sitting down, to which we told her we needed a few minutes to look over the menu. She comes back like 25 minutes later! Even after the various eye contact we had with her. Then on top of that, the food took forever to come out ! Like nearly close to an hour. Ana comes back to bring us the food and she literally just drops the plates down on the table and leaves. She didn't offer if we needed anything or even a simple "buen provecho" would've been great. She never came back to check up on us, until another staff member comes to take our plates. To top it off, towards the end she literally did this completely rude and unprofessional thing where she would tap the table, ask if we wanted dessert, and then quickly walk away to get a pitcher of water, to then come back to our table to hear our answer. She did that twice during the dinner and both times I couldn't even understand what she was saying because she would just walk away when would answer ! Like can't she go grab the pitcher of water, then come back and ask with eye contact and a smile? Like so rude! Towards the end she even forgot to give us a copy of our receipts. Not sure if Ana was new or was having a bad day... but I was really disappointed. The food was alright but nothing out of this world. The "foccacia" bread they brought to the table was extremely dry and almost stale. I ended up getting the tagliolini di portofino with a pesto sauce, potatoes and pine nuts. It was a decent portion and the pasta was cooked al dente which was nice. My friend ordered a Neapolitan style pizza which tasted pretty good and according to the menu had pretty authentic ingredients ( even the 00 farina and DOC label) but it just didn't come close to the pizza in Napoli and I've had better at other restaurants in the area. Prices were what you would expect for Condado and being right off La Concha hotel ($15-25) but the food just wasn't worth it. Wouldn't recommend and I definitely won't be dining here again. read more

As one always looking for the perfect pizza I felt the draw while visiting Puerto Rico. In the neighborhood of Condado I was directed to this restaurant. The atmosphere was both vibrant and friendly. A good number of people we're all seated laughing, having drinks, and most importantly enjoying the plethora of Italian dishes ala Puerto Rico styled. I got delivery. The food came a little late but it's a Friday so I didn't deduct anything for that. The problem was the food was cold. Our calamari was mushy. They didn't give enough tomato sauce for the whole order and they don't include salt or pepper. They ask you where you are staying so obviously they regularly deliver to the hotels nearby. This place is just terrible. The place looks beautiful and attractive but the food and service is not that great. Apparently the fridges are obviously not working because ordering a 50$ dollar bottle of champagne and it being tepid is just not acceptable. The waitress even forgot to bring us such a simple thing as the bread & butter. The "safron" risotto is horrible!!!! First of all, the condiment "safron" is a red colored condiment and the risotto was white, looked more like the typical oatmeal I normally eat for breakfast. The pizza was more like bread and tomatoes sauce. A lot of the pieces were just bread. Terrible and unacceptable honestly. For you to make a mistake on such a simple thing as pizza, it takes a lot. Let me begin with my server, his name was Orlando! He was phenomenal he shared with us his opinion on every dish and the way he described it definitely had you savoring the tastes before you could even order or even smell the aroma of your dish cooking in the back! The service was very efficient and quick. Orlando took all of our order without writing anything down ALL FIVE OF US from drinks to appetizers to entrees to desserts! The prices are accommodating for the menu, tastes and ambiance of the restaurant. Its a dream enough you're in Puerto Rico but the scenery of the restaurant makes you feel like you're in a movie.
