There aren't enough stars to adequately rate this place. Every massage therapist I have experienced here is wonderful. You feel more relaxed the minute you walk in the door to this calming, comfortable environment. Heated massage tables (if desired), moist heated towels, aromatherapy, if desired, etc. Beats any other place I've ever been to (and I've been to many over the years) hands down, including Red Door. And very reasonably priced. My most recent massage was with Earle. I'm a woman and have always preferred a female massage therapist, not sure why -- from a modesty perspective or something, not sure -- I made an exception this past weekend and am so glad that I did. I was introduced to another absolutely magical, fantastic therapist and I'll definitely be making an appointment with Earle again soon. This little peace of heaven is tucked away in an office park, and it is the best kept secret in Northern Virginia. The entire experience I had was relaxing from the moment I walked in the door. So, i have tons of knots, even my knots have knots. I booked a massage with Luz and wow! i used to have terrible back pain, and now it's gone! She was very professional, not too chatty (so i could enjoy the massage). It hurt a bit in the beginning when she was loosening my knots, but it was sooo worth it. I got a prenatal massage here with Raja, and it was fantastic. The studio is lovely and they make you feel so relaxed. My husband and I just had a fantastic 90 minute couples massage with Marya and Raja. My husband was less than enthusiastic about the idea of a massage but I think he may be hooked! Marya did a great job making him feel comfortable about the entire experience. Half way through the session, I heard gentle snores from the massage bed next to me! As usual, Raja worked the knots out of my shoulder and managed to alleviate the pain from the muscle strain in my back. Learned the studio is moving to bigger quarters in the same location. I've been to Serendipity several times but I recently had my first massage with Arrion. Arrion was wonderful and really listened to what I said at the beginning of the appointment. He checked in with me through the massage to make sure the pressure was okay and that I was comfortable and getting what I asked for. I went in with back issues and I immediately felt better when leaving the massage. I plan to schedule another appointment with Arrion in the future. read more

I booked a facial appointment thru their website on a Wednesday where you can get $10 off for any 60min. session or longer. I have been doing a facial for several years but it has been a while since I got my last one due to pregnancy and I informed her about that. My facial experience went OK. Ravi was nice but I was not 100% comfortable during my session. The oil and scrub that she put on my face went to my eyes several times and it hurts. She wiped it with a wet cotton right away but it was not enough and then she had to put a little bit of water to clean it off. I also informed her that the steam machine was way too hot and she basically said "It is supposed to be like that". She turned it down but I didn't feel any difference. I understand that but aren't you supposed to adjust on what's the client comfort zone? This was not my first time to get a facial so I am very aware with the routine. For that experience, I don't think it was worth paying $90. I have had better experience with only paying half of the price. read more

I read about Jordan in a Serendipity newsletter and the comments were intriguing enough to stay with me until I had an opportunity to book an appointment a few months later. The reviews were spot on - he is incredibly professional while still being personable, checking in throughout the massage to make sure the comfort and pressure preferences are being met. I have relatively severe knots in my shoulders that many therapists have worked on, sometimes alleviating the discomfort for a couple of days, but Jordan was able to remove the knots without any of the soreness that can accompany deep tissue massages. I consider him to be one of the most talented masseuses Serendipity has to offer which, in my mind, is really saying something as I've seen several spectacular masseuses. I went here a while back for a facial and at the time I did not want to complain I thought I would wait it out but now my skin is paying for it. Everything else was nice but the facial itself was terrible. The extractions hurt so much that my eyes were tearing up and I let the aesthetician know that it hurt and to not press down so much but she insisted that she needed to in order to get everything out. It was the most painful facial I have ever had. Also messy but that's not the worst part. As soon as I got up to get dressed my face had red blotches all over and by the time I got home I had red painful bumps all over my face from the harsh treatment on my skin. And now even months later my skin still has scars that won't go away. read more
