I believe they'll also massage your stomach but I specifically asked them not to due to a recent abdominal surgery. Things to know: - they only accept cash! - recommend calling in for an appointment, this place gets busy - the front desk gal was super sweet - most of the venue is a shared space but they have curtains in certain areas and private rooms upon request (my mom and I were in a shared space section closed off by a curtain so it felt private) - staff is super friendly and provide firm massages - shared parking lot next to Claro's Italian market - prices are reasonable, they have a water dispenser in the check in area for post massage hydration 10/10 recommend. This experience felt very different from the massage I had about a week ago in the best way possible. Shirley took the time at the beginning to have me circle the areas I wanted to focus on, which I really appreciated. I let her know that my upper and lower back were my main problem areas, and she absolutely delivered. Although next time I may focus solely on back work, she still did an excellent job with the full body massage. The appointment started promptly on time, and she was very welcoming and accommodating, even allowing me to use the restroom before we began. Overall, Shirley was incredibly friendly, professional, and skilled. I would absolutely recommend her and would love to book with her again in the future. Beauty Balance by Jo It's located in Phoenix Suites on 17th Street. The location is very convenience since it is not far from the "Orange Crush" so all of the major highways are close. I had a membership at Burke Williams for well over a year and always enjoyed their massages. But the cost kept going up and I just didn't feel I wanted to continue to commit to that much money every month. I was pleasantly surprised when I laid down on Jo's massage table! It was much more comfortable than the one used at Butke Williams! The room ambiance was just as nice, with soft lighting, soft music and ocean sound. There is also a small diffuser misting water in the air. Jo goes a step beyond Burke Williams as she has Lindt chocolates offered in a dish! We had discussed the level of pressure I preferred and whether I had any areas of concern. She advised that I could undress to the level of my comfort. I thought this was very sensitive of her as some people are uncomfortable with being nude for a massage. Personally, I prefer to be nude but others may not and I liked that she gave that option. The massage that Joe gave me was every bit as good as the massages I received at Burke Williams. She used the right amount of pressure and I felt totally relaxed afterwards. My only real issue with this last visit was that my 90-minute massage ended about 5 minutes early, which was a bummer. My friend, who went with me and booked the same massage, also finished before I did, so it was a little confusing and something I didn't particularly appreciate.
