I can't convey how much this nail salon saved my sanity. Across the street on Old Denton is another nail Salon that gets a LOT of business. I made an appointment after navigating weeks of a horrible event in my life that continues to be ongoing. My friends kept telling me to do something that was "self care related"...and I just could not muster up the energy to do it. But this morning, I finally did. I walked into the business with my service dog and these people were SO rude, so terrible and REFUSED to do any leg work to look up legal statues for violating ADA laws. I get it...lots of people bring try to bring in pets and ESA's and their dogs are horribly ungroomed or misbehaving. They have no focus, training, are noisy and not behaved---because they are NOT SERVICE DOGS. But my guy is impeccably trained, and so well behaved that we have gone through entire yoga classes where at the end of class, the person next to me realizes there's a dog next to them--and they gasp: OH MY GOD, THERE WAS A DOG NEXT TO ME THE WHOLE CLASS?? Yesssssss......bc unless something happens to kick my dog into gear---he is not at ALL a disturbance to ANY environment. So after this demeaning, classless treatment---I was shook. I was already so cut to pieces by my life events--that by the time I walked out of the salon after they straight refused my business, I was ready to just give up. It had taken everything in me to even get up that morning. But my friends convinced me to give getting some self-care in, a go again. So I mustered up my courage. Because let me tell you--navigating this world as someone with an invisible disability--you come up against some REAL cruelty. I booked with Serendipity and brought a friend for support. SERENITY NAILS TURNED EVERYTHING AROUND FOR ME! Y'all the way they took care of us----it still moves me to tears. They didn't make a big deal at ALL about my Service Dog. Throughout my service, people kept coming up and remarking about how well behaved and precious my guy was. They kept saying....he is SO quiet, he's SO good. And all I could think was---yeah! And all people with disabilities deserve access to these spaces without stress! Ok---I just wanted to tell that part of the story, because businesses that treat people with disabilities with dignity and respect ..... you guys open up the WORLD to us. So thank you. Truly. Ok! My friend and I sat down with two wonderful nail artists and they did a black/gold and pink/gold cat eye nail for both of us. I prefer coffin and my friend prefers almond. They were so kind and lovely and chill. It was the exact vibe I was looking for. I like that it's a little more dimly lit inside---it has a chill and cozy vibe. They didn't act wild when I checked the progress all along the appointment--some places can act like that's a slap across their face. At the end, with a 20% tip for the two of us, I paid a touch more than $75 for two full acrylic sets. WELL DONE! And you have a loyal client in me. read more

I wanted to try a new place and now I wished that I hadn't. It was a over all bad experience. My nails are shorter than I wanted and I told the lady as soon as she cut the first one but she just kept cutting them and put the powder on them. They are way too thin and as a result they are breaking and cracking. I also did a color change on my toes. She used an acrylic nail file to get my gel polish off my toe and hurt me. I've gone to this place before and left happy with my results but my experience today was horrible. I asked for almond nails and the lady that did my nails was so rude, passive aggressive and unprofessional. She had cut my nails to form a full triangle at the tip when i asked for a rounded almond (and showed her a picture). She shaped each nail very unevenly and when i pointed it out to her she told me that i have 10 fingers and can't expect them to look the same. I had to force her to redo both of my ring fingers and she first pushed my hand down and scoffed when i asked her to. She was way too passive aggressive and wouldn't stop making comments and this is the kind of shaping i ended up with because i didn't want to continue correcting her. The Texas sun is blocked and it feels like you are entering an oasis. The staff is extremely friendly and do great work. The services are also excellent. If you live in the area, you probably know there are a handful of nail salons you can choose from in the area. I STRONGLY recommend Serenity Nails & Day Spa, and they are the only salon I will be going to from here on. Their facility is clean and very relaxing. They also provide complimentary beverages 2 weeks ago I had my first appointment here- I received a pedicure and a gel manicure. Both were fabulous, and the two nail technicians were speedy while also taking care to do all of the steps. Both the gel manicure and regular pedicure lasted two weeks. With the gel there was absolutely no peeling or cracking, they probably could have gone another week or so without problems. I also received an eyebrow waxing that was perfect! Lisa listened to my requests to keep the original shape, I was very happy with that experience. Serenity are closed on Tuesdays, so I tried a different salon across the street (near Walmart, not naming any names). That experience left me wishing I had just waited a day to get my nails done at Serenity. The other salon's technician cut my finger, missed the base step in a gel manicure which resulted in almost all of the gel falling off within the same day. I received a refund from them and headed straight over to Serenity to fix their errors. Thank you, Danny! Beautiful job, I will never be going anywhere aside from Serenity Nails & Day Spa. read more

Beautiful, soothing jazz is playing and the volume of everything is low and low-key. From the manager to all of the nail techs, everyone creates a very relaxing vibe. I had a particularly hard weight circuit workout, that morning. Tina's exceptionally strong hands worked the lactic acid buildup out so well that I didn't have any muscle ache left in my feet, calves and arms when I left there. Because I'm a man reviewing a nail salon. With that said, I'm just going to say it, I've been coming here for years and so do plenty of other guys. Hey guys, a little tip for ya, women hate guy's nasty looking feet. You know what else they dislike? When a guy doesn't keep up with the nails on his hands or if you bite your nails. I used to bite my nails (nasty), but I discovered that if I'm paying to get a manicure, I won't bite them. Maybe because I'm just cheap that way. You know what else is nice? Not having to bend over to cut my toe nails or having to pick up what I just trimmed off. And if you think a woman hates nasty looking feet, they hate toe nails left on the floor or in the sink even worse. Now I'm old enough to remember when barbershops all looked like Floyd's in Andy of Mayberry. Check out the reruns, you know what you'll see......a manicurist. That's right guys, we used to have them in our dens of. Testosterone. Check out the old gangster movies where they blow away another gangster in the barber chair while his face is covered in a hot towel and a manicurist is doing his nails. So if you think "real men" don't get their nails done, are you saying Al Capone or Lucky Luciano weren't "real men"? OK, that's settled. You don't have to give up your guy card when you come in to get your nails trimmed. Now, what should you expect. First, the place is called Serenity for a reason, it's calming inside. Nothing frilly. It doesn't smell funny like a hair salon. There is nice calming music in the background. There are these great chairs you sit in that soak your feet while the chair gives you about a 15 minute massage. They offer you something to drink like water, soft drinks or wine. YES..... I said wine. I'll bet your barber never does that. Now you know why your wife or girlfriend comes back from the salon all happy! ! Next this sweet girl or two will start trimming your nails. After that she will scrub and smooth out the rough parts of your feet. Next they put this green stuff on your feet that starts tingling followed by wrapping your feet in hot towels. This is followed by a massage of your legs and arms. Before long you're wondering why you have never done this before and you quickly figure out that this is going to become the best part of your month. So man up, just do it. read more

Not only was the gel not even, essentially leaving me with lumpy levels, but it also didn't even coat the whole nail. Here I am a week later and the gel I typically get that lasts me a month, has already peeled off multiple nails. Not only that, but there are lumps of polish under the nail, as well as color. It gives me absolutely NO pleasure to write this horrible review on Dora from today. After coming here for SEVEN YEARS this was so upsetting and VERY unprofessional. My appointment was at 3 o'clock for an acrylic fill with gel overlay but I didn't want any of the colors so I went for the pink and white French tips. My nails generally take about an hour to do and always have. They are always beautiful and perfect and I get compliments on them ALL THE TIME!! I am picky about my nails but I'm always kind and never rude....who is not picky about their nails?? I like them filed a very specific way. I specifically asked for her because she does such a beautiful job!! Long story short...I started requesting her personally the last few times I have gone in. I made the comment about another salon I go to with a friend and how I usually have to go down the list of the 5 main ones I like until one is available...I always book the day before. As she was putting on the clear gel to finish, after she handed me the Emory board for my final filing, She said "some don't make themselves available because the client is too picky and it takes too long. They don't want to take that client." She kept making snide comments on how long I took, it takes her 30 minutes to do a client, it takes an hour sometimes longer with me, how her appointments are behind because of me. And I'm too picky. I finally said, "so are you saying you don't want to do my nails anymore? Is that what you are saying?? Hmphh?? She never even answered me or looked at me. I washed my hands, got my stuff without a word, paid and STILL tipped her 10 on 50. I couldn't believe she had the guts to say that to someone who SPECIFICALLY asked for her. I broke two nails yesterday and still waited an extra day for her. I am stunned at her attitude!! How can this type of treatment come from the owner?! read more

I came during COVID and I gotta say, they did an excellent job keeping everything sanitary and well-kept. They always have good service but I was exceptionally impressed with how they were running their business. They tried to keep customers apart by a whole seat and the technicians wore masks and face shields for protection. I wish I knew the name of the ladies who worked on me but I did spa mani and pedi. They both did an excellent job with my nails and it didn't hurt (I haven't had the best luck in Dallas with nail salons because the technicians are too rough). Dora at Serenity did a beautiful job of microblading my eyebrows. I was very nervous bout doing anything too drastic or harsh. I just wanted to fill-in & replenish what age & years of plucking had caused. I wanted a very natural look that closely mimicked what my brows have always been thickness-wise. But she will do whatever her client desires. Dora spent time asking what i wanted, measuring my face/brows, drawing on mock-ups with erasable pencil until i was absolutely happy with what she was about to do. Color choice was perfect & procedure was not painful. I'm most excited about not having to spend time every single morning penciling in my eyebrows...I will now wake up with beautiful eyebrows!
