Same day appointments! I recently sprained my back and was in desperate need of a massage after my pre-scheduled appointment from another place was cancelled. I heard of this place from my primary masseuse and gave them a call. They had 10 available masseuses on a Friday. I requested for a female masseuse. Lucy was my masseuse and she was friendly. I asked if she could focus on my back and spine, but she did a full body massage, which turned out great because I had a lot of tightness in my calves as well. I honestly didn't know what to expect. A green, thin towel on top of the massage bed was used to cover my body. I mistakenly went underneath the thin white sheet and Lucy had to adjust the cloth for me. I was a bit embarrassed. Towards the second half of the massage, Lucy used hot stones which was warm and unexpected. She asked if I was okay and was nice about it. I didn't ask her many questions. Maybe on my next visit. I felt a lot of the knots in my upper shoulders. For an hour massage at only $40, this is a great deal, especially for a last minute booking. The ambiance felt a little odd though. They don't have actual doors, just curtains for the full body massage. Conversations and footsteps can be heard from other rooms and the hallway. The customers that opted for leg massages are out in the open next to the front entrance and check in counter. Everybody was nice but man...the massage was really bad. I went with 2 other people and their experience was unfortunately the same. I opted for the 60 min body massage and 30 min foot massage ($65). They started us with the foot massage. Mostly just repetitive scalp massage for 10 mins, brief shoulders and then feet. The foot massage wasn't super painful but it was the same repetitive motion on one spot so it was very uncomfortable. At one point she was digging her nail into my feet. She kept doing one motion so many times that I started counting. She dug into one spot over 85 times! Body massage was even worse. Usually during a massage I am hoping the time would go slower. Not this time...I couldn't wait for it to be over. I had to tell her numerous times to be more gentle but all she did was laugh and said to trust her. I was making so much noise from the pain, both my friends heard me the entire time. Now I understand some pain is normal for her to get out the knots...but this was different. It was a skill issue. Nobody likes repetitive, rough motion straight on their bones like the rib and spine! Also, they don't really massage your entire body. None of us had to flip onto our back either. Anyways, we left feeling worse and in even more pain the next day. I even have scratches/cuts on my neck from her nails. We still paid and tipped 25%. read more

As my friend Lisa loves this place, we frequent this establishment for foot massages pretty regularly. I like the fact that they have ample parking in the back and you can enter from the back as well. I also appreciate that they are fully staffed. Meaning, you can make an appointment as a group. They have at least 12-14 cots and many masseuses. I think they do a pretty decent job of keeping their facilities clean, minus the restrooms. They are slightly pricier than other massage establishments in the neighborhood. However, they still have many patrons. There's a high probability because of their atmosphere, which is better than most Asian massage places. Meaning, the workers are not shouting, yelling and conversing throughout the entire massage. On the other hand, the massage is decent, but I wouldn't say I've had my best massages here. It's a hit or miss. So if you find any masseuses you like, make sure you get their name. read more

I've never had any issues getting a same day late afternoon appt. There is always a masseuse available. Everyone I've gotten has always been amazing. Today I went at 4pm for a 90 min massage. It was very warm inside when I went, likely because they were washing the white towels. When I got undressed and on the bed, I was a bit clammy for the first 5-10 mins but soon relaxed and was comfortable. I was concerned I might have to ask for a fan in the room lol. This was my first time in a while that I've gotten a female masseuse. I do tend to favor the men since they are much stronger and I'm not a squishy person lol. I've got layers that need to be penetrated LMAO! There were moments that felt like she was just "touching" and moving around IYKYK. Ultimately, I did appreciate her total pressure and massage style at the end because my body was so tight, it wouldn't handle getting roughed up well. I felt very relaxed and very loose after the massage and was very grateful in the end. She managed to read my mind in areas that needed slightly more kneading. I did notice they added new services. I'm assuming it's a recent addition to keep up with market trends. Decided to try getting a foot massage here since they have good reviews. I made an appointment since I read it's always busy, but when I got there it was pretty empty. I went with the 60min foot massage and had a mediocre experience. I would recommend wearing a tank or tube top for women since you keep your clothes on and shorts or leggings you can pull up to your knees. The first portion of the foot massage you lay on your back while your feet soak, this was not a very comfortable position for me because I'm short. At other places I sit up while soaking my feet. The female masseuse then massaged my head, shoulders, and arms for 10min. Her movements were too fast and not relaxing. Next was the foot massage which was the same repetitive motions for 40min, too much oil and not enough pressure. The oil was cold too. At the end she stretched out my shoulders and back with a lot of force for 10min, I almost choked because she pressed down hard on my neck. It was a very strange massage. Overall I had high hopes for this place but left disappointed. Maybe I just got a bad masseuse. Also my massage was interrupted several times by an employee's phone ringing. read more

My feelings for Serenity Spa are complicated Pros: - the massages themselves have been consistently great the last few years I've been coming here. - I like the atmosphere - dim light, soft relaxing music, clean. - Staff is usually always nice and they wear face masks. - They have great parking and clean bathrooms. I would definitely continue going to Serenity for massages. BUT... I have a hard time recommending this place because I don't think it would be everyone's cup of tea. Cons: - I usually get the massage in the open space and I'm aware I will hear noises... but, often, customers talk on their phones during massages. There was a man getting a massage in the open space and he answered his phone 3 times and spoke loudly. - when new customers come in, sometimes they will talk and laugh very loudly. - I even had an experience where a lady was watching YouTube without headphones during her own massage! - I feel like it can be frustrating when people don't care to keep voices down and turn off cellphones when other ppl are trying to relax and enjoy a massage. - I hope the owners can enforce a no phone policy or something bc it is rude and disruptive. 0 stars - Serious privacy concerns During my massage, the woman owner at the front desk repeatedly opened the curtains to the "private" massage room while I was undressed. At one point I lifted my head during the massage and saw her open the curtain again. As I was getting clothed at the end, she opened it again when I was butt naked, enough for the staff to see. I felt exposed and humiliated. She was standing outside my room as I was exiting and I confronted her and asked why she does that and she mentioned she does it REGULARLY!?!?! So when you're faced down just know you're being violated. Staff also sit right outside the curtain area talking and laughing, which made the environment feel anything but private or relaxing. Being exposed while you're undressed during a massage is completely unacceptable. Privacy should be the bare minimum in any massage setting. This place is low budget and anything but "serenity". On top of that, my massage ended about 5 minutes early. I also had to ask for a hot towel to remove the oil before leaving. Overall the experience felt unprofessional and uncomfortable and cheap. If you value privacy during a massage, I would strongly recommend going somewhere else. Do not support her business. She comes off nice but is 100% shady and unethical in her business practice. This was one of the most uncomfortable and disturbing spa experiences I have ever had. I am a female client and was assigned a male masseuse ( short, bald guy, smoker- smelled his hands while he was working on my head). I was covered only by a towel, placing me in an inherently vulnerable position. During the massage, while he was working on my back, his groin area repeatedly made contact with my arms. I moved my arms multiple times to avoid this contact, yet it continued. At no point did he acknowledge or correct his positioning. When it came time to work further on my back, he asked me to remove my underwear. I clearly said no. Given the repeated boundary violations earlier in the session, this request felt highly inappropriate and alarming. Nothing about this massage felt professional, therapeutic, or safe. His technique, positioning, and behavior were intrusive and unacceptable. I left feeling violated rather than relaxed. This is not a minor complaint -- it is a serious failure in professionalism, client safety, and consent. Management should take this review seriously and investigate this employee's conduct. No client should ever feel this uncomfortable during a service that requires trust and vulnerability. It was very nice. There's many rooms when you go inside, dimly lit. Clean. The rooms don't have doors and use curtains as covers which is very smart, I wasn't disrupted when they entered and exited for stuff like hot rocks. The masseuse was also very good, shes an older lady and was very gentle so it was easy to relax. Came by the other day for a foot massage and it was a phenomenal experience, reminding me of Asia. Called ahead and my therapist was available at the scheduled time. Parking was available on the street. The massage parlor appears to have a rear entrance as well. There is a good collection of foot massage ottomans, some in clusters of 3, in addition to individual ottomans. The $30 one hour foot massage started off with a very warm foot bath, and it was excellent. The therapist was wearing a mask covering the mouth and nose and started pressing all of the pressure points on my head. The therapist moved on to a massage of the arms and hands before blowing into a pair of used nitrile gloves for the foot massage. The foot massage was decent with the therapist hitting numerous pressure points and ended with the therapist wiping down my feet while wearing gloves. The last portion of the "foot massage" was a back massage without oil. The therapist was very strong using his fingers to really dig down and get all of the knots out! read more
