I called at 8:30am on a Saturday about my 90 year old Dad's 15 year old dog who had stopped eating and drinking and was clearly in pain. They were able to come same day - a vet and a tech - to put her to sleep in his apartment. They explained to him what was happening and transitioned her peacefully while on his lap. One of the hardest things to do is say goodbye to your furry loved one. Unexpectedly, we found ourselves in this sudden, stressful circumstance of having to put down our dog. The situation itself is already incredibly distressing, but thank goodness for Serenity, making this a smooth process during an emotionally challenging time. Serenity made it very easy and streamlined. There was a bit of phone tag, but we were able to schedule very easily, within a day or two of calling. The vet team (Dr. Bagshaw) and her assistant were very professional, compassionate and respectful. She had a very gentle, calm approach and explained the process clearly, as this was the first time I had to put down my dog. Willoughby passed away peacefully in our home surrounded by his family, and that was the best departure we could have given him. They gave us unrushed final time with him to say goodbye. The service and care by Serenity was much appreciated. In terms of cost, it was $550 for euthanasia and $270 for cremation. We were unable to make the pick up time, so we had to arrange another date to pick up his ashes in downtown LA. I was surprised that Willoughby's ashes came in a lovely box, along with his paw print. In such a difficult time, Serenity did a great job with making it easy. I'm truly sorry for anyone who has to go through this, but I would recommend this company for their compassionate care. I had always given my dog, Louie, quality medical care throughout his life. Louie was always anxious at his usual vet appointments, so it was important that he be comfortable at home and I was also more comfortable spending this time with him at home. A few days later my regular vet called me to tell me that Serenity had notified her of Nino's passing. What a nice gesture, to go out of there way to do this. It meant a lot to me.
