Most anyone reading this is probably facing a day they'd like to put off a bit longer for their cherished pet. I called Serenity twice. I was truly not ready, but I needed to start taking those first steps. My regular dog veterinarian recommended Serenity if I preferred to do the procedure in my home. I want to emphasize that the phone calls were so helpful and I really felt the care and concern coming back to me with every question I had to better understand the process. In the end, having this done in our home was absolutely the best thing I could have done for Koa, our 14-year old Weimaraner. Dr. Randall was so kind and thoroughly understood the range of emotions and painful circumstances. I really appreciated her compassion and support. As hard as it was to say goodbye, I was comforted by having Koa on his favorite doggy bed in his favorite place near my desk. He was in his home in familiar surroundings. It was a peaceful moment with plenty of time before and after to be with Koa. I want to express my gratitude and thanks to everyone at Serenity Vet Care for the love and compassion you provided to Koa.

Serenity Veterinary Care is the Best Best Best! We recently put down our 10 year old dog and their website, contact, and services were beyond extraordinary. I sought to find my Dogs first veterinarian, who saved his life when he was ill 6 years prior. Dr. Randall exceeds all expectations of any vet, and when I learned that she was specializing in at home euthanasia I was on a mission to find her, and I did! She came to the house and with gentle nature and the kindness heart she helped us say goodbye to our old boy. We received the ashes in a lovely box with a paw print, cremation cert etc, personally delivered by a very kind man as well. The staff is phenomenal. Milaya is a gem! The process of euthanasia is the right thing to do, but so difficult. This company I highly recommend. Professional and compassionate. Thank you Serenity and Dr. R. We are truly grateful for you.

One of the hardest things to do is say goodbye to your furry loved one. Unexpectedly, we found ourselves in this sudden, stressful circumstance of having to put down our dog. The situation itself is already incredibly distressing, but thank goodness for Serenity, making this a smooth process during an emotionally challenging time. Serenity made it very easy and streamlined. There was a bit of phone tag, but we were able to schedule very easily, within a day or two of calling. The vet team (Dr. Bagshaw) and her assistant were very professional, compassionate and respectful. She had a very gentle, calm approach and explained the process clearly, as this was the first time I had to put down my dog. Willoughby passed away peacefully in our home surrounded by his family, and that was the best departure we could have given him. They gave us unrushed final time with him to say goodbye. The service and care by Serenity was much appreciated. In terms of cost, it was $550 for euthanasia and $270 for cremation. We were unable to make the pick up time, so we had to arrange another date to pick up his ashes in downtown LA. I was surprised that Willoughby's ashes came in a lovely box, along with his paw print. In such a difficult time, Serenity did a great job with making it easy. I'm truly sorry for anyone who has to go through this, but I would recommend this company for their compassionate care. We love you, Willoughby and thank you Serenity for the care!

I had always given my dog, Louie, quality medical care throughout his life. When it was time to make the most difficult decision, I was grateful Serenity Veterinary Care provided him with quality, end of life care. Louie was always anxious at his usual vet appointments, so it was important that he be comfortable at home and I was also more comfortable spending this time with him at home. Dr. Angela Randall ("Dr. Angie") and Liz Martinez were respectful with every detail. Dr. Angie asked if he'd like treats and I told her recently he had little interest in his food or treats. She offered him freeze dried beef liver treats and he gobbled them up! It was wonderful to see him experiencing joy in those last moments. Providing this peaceful, respectful end of life care for Louie was my final act of love.

I cannot say enough wonderful words about this amazing and caring business...They are truly the kindest souls. Today, my Frisbee's ashes were delivered to us. The presentation was spectacular! What a thoughtful company they are. In this time of grief and mourning, I feel so grateful to them! I am grateful... and oh so sad.

My 20.5-year-old cat's health was deteriorating quickly, and I found myself searching for euthanasia companies. "Shopping for his death" felt weird, especially when other companies treated it very matter-of-factly. Serenity was one of the first to respond, with empathy, with affordable pricing, and I'm SO glad I went with them. The vet & vet tech were SO respectful & professional, so mindful & soft-spoken, and he went exactly how I would've wanted; quickly, peacefully, on my lap. They were very communicative throughout the process, from booking the dreaded date to when I would expect his remains, and coordinated an equally respectful hand-off of his ashes. I don't wish anybody to lose a pet, but if you're looking for a way to peacefully end your loved one's suffering, Serenity treated us with the utmost respect, courtesy, and professionalism.

We kept coming back for the convenient location--until today. I arrived 15 minutes early for my dog's 2:30 PM appointment. At check-in, the front desk (Crystal) asked me to prepay, which was new to me. When I asked what services were included, she said only vaccines. I had previously requested microchipping a week ago, but that wasn't noted. She mentioned a 3 PM cancellation slot, but I told her to hold off since I couldn't stay much longer. After waiting over an hour, I asked a different tech about the delay. Then Crystal blurted she had moved my appointment to 3 PM to include all services--something she NEVER communicated; which I pointed out to her, I asked to speak with a supervisor and continued waiting. We were finally taken to a room, and 15 minutes later (total of 1hr 15min LATER) , the doctor entered and accused *ME* of being disrespectful to her staff--which is completely FALSE. I believe the front staff member BLATANTLY LIED to cover her own condescending and unprofessional behavior. I was upfront with the doctor and encouraged her to review the cameras. As a business owner myself, I know you never put a customer on the defensive--especially when your feelings are hurt because someone called out poor service. That's a training issue, not mine. This experience was not only upsetting but also makes me question how much the doctors enable their staff's mediocrity. The lack of communication, professionalism, and customer service is evident from the moment you walk in. I stand by my word: !!! review the cameras!!! I was never disrespectful--not once.

Dr. Kevin is a calming, reassuring presence, even via text. His compassion for these animals and their grieving owners is evident and genuine. He explained every step of the procedure to us, even details we requested, and tactfully addressed the possible outcomes of both the sedation and euthanasia. Even typing the word is difficult. I appreciated his further reassurance that it was the correct decision and at the right time when he saw the gravity of Xena's condition; I had no doubts, but it was still a balm to my heart to hear it from a professional. I was able to pet her throughout the entire procedure and up until the very last moment we assisted her onto the stretcher. I am so grateful I could spend those crucial final moments comforting her. We preferred communal cremation, so the rates were within the ballpark of other at-home services I had consulted with. However the stellar attentiveness, gentleness, and empathy that Dr. Kevin provided, in addition to his same-day availability on such short notice and all of the glowing reviews here, had my heart set on him from the beginning. Another reason we opted for him over other providers is because he is the one performing the procedure, so we knew what--and who--to expect. It felt much more intimate and personal than a service sending "someone" out. I believe this high caliber of care is how Dr. Kevin so seamlessly blends into the moment: he is another source of the palpable love resonating during such an intense, difficult experience. His demeanor was serene and respectful, and he allowed us plenty of physical and emotional space. Even as he was working, his being there felt as natural as any of my family members. The results, while devastating, was handled with vigilance and care. The vet gave me time to cry afterwards in the room. They did all they could for my boy. Because I had to go to work/could not cancel, I opted to do the day after. The estimate at MASH is $6,000-8,000 but here it was around $4500. I dropped my cat off early on Wednesday for his check-up, test, and surgery. Ultimately, they disagreed with the vets at MASH and said my cat had no crystals either in x-ray or in his urinalysis but did have a UTI which contributed to a second blockage (bladder overflow). They kept him for 48-hours to unblock and recover. This cost around $2K. At MASH where he had done the same 2 days earlier, it was $6K When MASH returned my cat, he was rough. He reeked of pee, his face was completely crusted/sticky with dried medicine, his fur was full of shed, and he was lethargic and in pain despite all the medicines. When Affordable returned him, my cat was bright and energetic. They clearly took care of him (he smelled like a baby wipe). It has been about a week since I brought him home, but I knew immediately that he was feeling better the day I picked him up. Now, he has completely recovered. Back to flinging himself around and meowing at 4 am. I am incredibly grateful to this hospital for their responsiveness, flexibility, affordability, and the kindness they showed my cat. I was worried that I would end up losing my cat (I had paid nearly $7K at MASH and he wasn't better) if he blocked again, but Dr. Barrera said that I should "give my cat a chance." He said that it is what he would do if it were his cat. I'm grateful that I did because it saved him from unnecessary surgeries. My cat was seen by Dr. Forsythe and Dr. Barrera and they both were very kind and gentle with him. I do see what some reviews mean about their disorganization. They forgot to call me to update me that he wasn't getting the surgery but would need to be hospitalized. I had to call them, but it turned out that Dr. Forsythe had gotten very sick. He returned my call despite being audibly quite sick and given that my cat needed the hospitalization anyways (and he was fine), I can see how it slipped through the cracks. They seem to accommodate all kinds of emergencies as best as they can, so I think a little disorganization is totally ok. I do think Dr. Forsythe needs a new phone. It sounded like he was calling from a remote cabin or from a phone that fell off a cliff. I had to listen to the voicemail at max volume more than once. I will likely return again/switch my primary vet to this one because it is closer, cheaper, and I had a great experience. And apparently, my shy scaredy cat enjoyed the attention he received here. There are some more "affordable" vets but in terms of quality/expertise, this hospital is well worth the price. When I called around to vets in Los Angeles for cystotomy prices, Ambassador Dog & Cat Hospital were the only ones that actually do it (many don't update their sites) that are near me (don't have a car) and their estimated price was also the same $4500. They are also roughly the same prices of my long-time vet (Beverly Robertson, wonderful, estimated $4K for procedure) and especially after going to MASH, these prices might as well be pennies. CareCredit is accepted basically everywhere, but what's nice about this hospital is that they accept ScratchPay which is a god send for emergency vet loans. This hospital is in an old building, but is still very nice and clean. Maybe not as sparkling as a brand new facility, but on par with the vets I've gone to over my lifetime.
