Dr. Woon was so kind, gentle, professional and really the perfect person we needed on this awful day. Putting Roxy down was one of the hardest things we ever had to do and by the end we reframed the experience as helping Roxy transition to the other side via the Rainbow Bridge. We were very emotional and Dr. Woon was a gentle presence who made sure everyone, even Roxy, was comfortable. When she met Roxy, Dr. Woon leaned her face to Roxy's face and Roxy kissed her nose. I will never forget that. Dr. Woon's respect and love for animals is obvious. She even suggested that our other dog stay in the room with us because it will help him have closure. She made the most difficult day easier. Dr. Woon explained the medications, the process and what to expect. It was very helpful as this was a new experience for us. She also made a beautiful paw print of Roxy for us to keep. Upon leaving she left us the Rainbow Bridge poem and another memento for us to keep. I wholeheartedly recommend her. Thank you Dr. Woon for your loving care.

Honestly wish I had written this review sooner, but we had been struggling with our loss while also dealing with bringing a new (human) life into this world! Our little guy had lymphoma and was declining fast. We had picked a day to say our goodbye, but he decided his time had come sooner than we anticipated. He was in pain and we couldn't bear to make him suffer through another night. My husband frantically called several at home euthanasia agencies asking them if they were available. Angel wings was our third call, a final Hail Mary attempt if you will. Considering we were in Sherman oaks and Dr Woon was based in Santa monica, we weren't hopeful. To our surprise, she called us back within minutes saying she could come immediately. The agency's name is fitting, it was truly as if an angel answered our prayers. Within the hour Dr Woon showed. I've never experienced such heart ache, and honestly do not know how she or anyone could do what she does for a living, but she said she finds peace knowing she's helping pet owners and pets cross over to a better place. The whole experience was thoughtful, gentle, and at our speed. Dr Woon explained every step for us so we knew what to expect and when to expect it. She was so gentle with our little baby and gave us time to say goodbye on our own once he had officially passed on. She then took some of his fur and left us with it and took our baby with her in a cozy little basket. For something so morbid and gut wrenching, we have nothing but positive memories from that awful night thanks to Dr Woon. Weeks later, we received our boys ashes and she included his paw print on plaster which absolutely destroyed me upon receiving. Such a special memory to have. All in all we highly recommend Angel Wings if you're in need of at home euthanasia services. Nothing but glowing reviews from me and we will forever be grateful for her quick response and helping our little guy cross that rainbow bridge peacefully

This is an extremely small, one woman owned and operated business. And despite that, she is the most caring individual I've ever met and helped my poor Darwin pass over so extremely peacefully on short notice and late at night. Thank you so much Sy, for everything.

Clay paw print, fur clipping in a pretty jar, & certificate of remembrance were included with her service

I feel bad that one pet parent somehow didn't have a good experience ( the one who left a one star review; I'm Not sure if there was a glitch with the phone system / voice mail?) but we had nothing but great things to say about Dr. Sy Woon service. Our dog Bella hadn't been well & last Saturday night her health was really declining & we didn't want to bring her back to the hospital to be put to sleep, but we didn't want her to suffer any longer. We wanted her to rest in peace in her home of 15 yrs, surrounded by my husband & me, & with her 2 dog siblings. On Sunday morning we called her, & our call went straight into a voicemail with instruction to fill in the short online form on her website, so we did that. She called us back within 10 minutes. We were able to get an appointment with Dr Woon on the same day at 12 noon. Dr Woon is very kind, compassionate, & her presence brought us peace during this very hard decision to let Bella go. She explained clearly what she was going to do ( all the steps) & reassured us that Bella was not feeling any pain during the process. She also made clay paw print of Bella, saved a small clipping of Bella's fur & put them in a small pretty jar, & gave us a certificate of remembrance. We are very glad that we called her ( we got her business card from Bella's vet at ACCESS animal hospital in Culver City, when we asked them about at home euthanasia for Bella since her prognosis was poor) We are grateful to Dr Sy Woon & highly recommend her

Very compassionate and caring. I was extremely please with the services that they provided in my time of sorrow. It's never easy saying goodbye to your beloved pet but they made it as easy as it could possibly be. I definitely would recommend them

He was a big 14 year old german shepherd and his time had come but it was unexpected and extremely sad. I am so grateful Yelp brought me to that Santa Monica Vet group that Sunday morning without appointment, that I was seen immediately, and that my pupper was given meds and eventually euthanasia to keep him comfortable the whole time. This team really went above and beyond after he passed. I wasn't expecting anything but his ashes back. When I brought him home I found a paw print, something I wish I had gotten, a handwritten letter from the entire staff, and a really nice urn. I really couldn't even get my words out when I went to pick his ashes up so I'm writing this review as a thank you to Dr Hinchey and staff, and the receptionist for giving my baby a peaceful passing. I know this is very hard work to do every day and I'm very grateful.

I don't feel comfortable bringing my cats here after that experience, unfortunately, as I want only correct & up to date information & advice from my vet med. *I appreciate the response & clarification, as I did have concerns with this cat in the home being aggressive towards my FIV+ cat, however the vet did state that it could be spread through grooming. It seems to me she probably misspoke, but it made me feel much less confident going forward with this doctor. I believe we must be quite careful about misinformation regarding FIV cats as they are already stigmatized & historically euthanized. Thank you!

I called veterinary hospitals everywhere--from the San Fernando Valley all the way to Riverside--but I couldn't find anyone who could see her on an emergency basis. I was incredibly fortunate to contact Green Dog Dental, where I already had an appointment scheduled nine days later. Knowing that my cat, Marley, was rapidly deteriorating, I explained the situation to their staff. They were kind enough to reach out to their internal medicine specialist, Dr. Geist, who immediately agreed to see her as long as I was willing to drive to their Venice location. The very next day, we were there. The Venice facility is beautiful, peaceful, and welcoming. Dr. Geist had already reviewed the medical records I had emailed ahead of time, and he took the time to perform a thorough examination and discuss Marley's condition with me. Dr. Geist was incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and thoughtful in the way he cared for both Marley and me. Although our outcome was heartbreaking and I ultimately had to make the painful decision to let Marley go, I will always be grateful for the kindness, honesty, and dignity with which he guided us through one of the hardest moments of my life. I also want to thank his entire team for the exceptional care and compassion they showed us. While their services are on the pricier side, they were the only practice willing to see my baby when no one else could. For that alone, they were worth every penny. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Geist and his team to anyone looking for exceptional veterinary care.

(CONT'D DUE TO WORD LIMIT):…read more A small dog would practically have to be jumping up and down to create that kind of discrepancy. And if a dog's weight truly appeared to change by that much, that should have been an immediate medical red flag, not something casually charted and moved past. The experience at Green Dog often felt like in and out, in and out. After dental cleanings, I often got only a couple of minutes with a doctor, and sometimes felt I had to push even to get that. There was no sense of a meaningful doctor-patient relationship, no sense that anyone was pausing to look at my dog as a whole patient, connect his mouth to broader health issues, or consider how his overall condition might affect the safest plan for future dental surgery. When I ultimately went to the veterinary dental specialist I chose, the difference was profound. They examined him carefully, looked at him as an individual patient, explained what they found, gave me updates during surgery, and required a follow-up where they walked me through the details of what had been found and what it meant. That experience only deepened my sadness over the years I spent at Green Dog thinking I was protecting him. This time, under general anesthesia with the specialist I chose, his recovery was completely different. He was a little groggy at first, but within a couple of hours of waking up from surgery, he was alert, comfortable, in a good mood, and even playful. His personality did not change. It was a completely different experience. This is only my experience and my opinion, but I would never choose Green Dog Dental again for extractions. I wish I had known then what I know now. p.s. SCROLL DOWN TO THE "NOT CURRENTLY RECOMMENDED REVIEWS ON THIS AND SHERMAN OAKS LOCATIONS for dozens of similarly tragic experiences. I have two cats. Both have been members for several years…read more I am having the most difficult time getting help this year. Every time I need help, the answers provided are not thoughtful. There seems to be a lack of tracking what issues my pet has, as well as what problems or barriers I have to providing care. I've had to announce on 3 different appointments this year how I an unable to provide for costs upward of $500 - ranging to thousands. I have to explain that my own health and healthcare are challenged with affordability. It makes no sense to have a customer explain this 3 times in 5 months - - but that is the outcome of my 3 visits this year. I have a cat needing support for kidney's but we haven't addressed that because it takes an hour and in person appointment to get eye drops. So in essence, the discussion suffers each visit due to being forced to again explain that most of the options for testing this and that are well out of my price range. Meanwhile, the cat is aging and I should be focused on what I CAN DO for her. I really feel uncared for as a pet owner. I feel really frustrated having to explain my financial position to so many staff members. The reality of my income and costs won't change but they don't seem to have a place to note this in their files. Overall, I'd like to see Modern Animal use some technology to better help the customer - which is ME. I am coming to take care of my pets, and when they are sick I do not appreciate the process of getting care being so disheartening. The final straw was today. I let them know that I ordered food through amazon for my pet, which needs approval. Last week they said they are able to approve and I can reach out after placing the order. Today, after placing the order they tell me they do not work with amazon and so more steps are needed. WHAT A GREAT TIME TO TELL ME THAT INSTEAD OF LAST WEEK WHEN I FIRST ASKED. I can not explain how much stress and wasted time have added up over the past couple weeks. The chat is not that useful if you get different information from different staff. There seems to be no central "care hub" to address my animals needs, with allowing for a general note on limitations or exceptions that I have communicated multiple times. They say they don't try to shame you. But I took a lot of time explaining that having to re-explain it with each visit and with each issue my pet has, is exactly that - shaming.

Worth noting: Expect big urgent care invoices and be prepared to ask questions, line by line, to make sure you understand the costs and necessary treatment. I think every pet parent can agree that the most important thing for our fluffy little ones is proper care and love from the professionals treating them. This is why I'm rating this place a 5 star. They were all terrific people and took wonderful care of my dog (and me!) during a high stress day. P.S. They also offer coffee and snacks and that was a lifesaver after being there for 3.5 hours.

They took me in rapidly and the Doctor was very kind and empathetic to my nervous cat. They diagnosed his issue quickly and let me know it wasn't a complete crisis so that helped calm me down. They did a blood and urine draw which went very smoothly given how nervous my cat was, and overall the doctor/nurses walked me through all the steps very honestly and openly with estimates provided at every step which was very appreciated. As a layman I cannot say how much of the tests they did were strictly necessary and what was nice to have, but doctor explained everything very thoroughly so I left feeling like it was pretty reasonable. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because although I arrived around 7 when it was pretty empty, by 8-9PM when my cat was getting his draws and test results, the place became a lot busier and the doctor couldn't attend to me as much, so I ended up not being able to leave until around midnight, including at least one period of over an hour where I was just waiting around. But I can't really blame them that much-- I was in a private room because my cat is skittish so I didn't see, but when I left I saw the place was a total zoo with lots of people, so I think they were just overwhelmed. Overall -- very good service. Bill was a bit high, but they gave me options and walked me through every step with estimates for my confirmation. Only downside was longer wait time as the night progressed.
