The young lady working the front --Janai--was so helpful and kind. An amazing asset to their organization. We discovered Alexander's has the best bread pudding that my friend and I had ever had. My only complaint is breakfast was not at the house. I was looking forward to the continued ambiance of the house.

The clawed tub is very charming that will whisk you away back in time. You'll definitely get a great night's sleep on the bed because it is very comfortable. The sheets are made of unmatched quality are fit for a king and queen. We liked the sheets so much we actually bought a set for our king sized bed at home. We've had the pleasure of meeting Jason, Katie, and Neil the owner and they've made us feel like family while here. When you stay here you definitely have to check out the Shed restaurant and Alexander's. The food at the Shed is exceptional we did the sampler plate, burgers, and cheese curds. They were great. You'll also want to eat at Alexander's on the property at the Inn as the food is phenomenal. We did the beef tenderloin and it was cooked to perfection along with the crab cakes and autumn bread pudding! If you're not staying at the Inn on the Creek you're missing out. Breakfast in the morning was stellar as well the atmosphere and people have been great. We definitely tip our hats off to all of the staff we've seen, and those working behind the scenes. You're taste buds will thank you once you eat at The Shed and Alexander's as their food is to die for! If you've haven't booked a stay here you will be disappointed if you go anywhere else. The Inn on the Creek truly is a hidden gem that you're going to love!!! From all of us at Texas Blue Courage Company LLC thank you for such amazing hospitality! Respectfully, Justin and Sheila Kmiec

Knob Creek rocks, Elijah Craig rocks, a Ranch Water (a bit too sweet), and a classic Italian Aperol Spritz. Dinner on the patio starting with a smoked bacon appetizer followed by a wedge salad. Sugared bacon was delicious. Wedge didn't have the salad core removed which was a bit disappointing. Shared a coal-fired Margarita pizza with chicken added. Pizza was cooked perfectly and was delicious with a healthy amount of ingredients, including the excellent blend of cheeses. Our waiter Peter was very professional, friendly and informative. Definitely recommend the Vineyard for an upscale night out with excellent ambiance featuring a Mediterranean decor. Will go back.

It looked pretty, but nothing came together, and the biscuit was very dry. We also tried the Cuban sandwich--way too fatty and overly thick, hard to enjoy. The loaded croissant, however, was very good, and the fries were solid. The artichoke dip had little to no flavor, and the bread wasn't grilled like the menu said. The atmosphere was beautiful--you feel like you're in a villa. The country drive out there is nice, and the grounds are gorgeous. Drinks were on point and the wine was good, though pricey for a small pour. Our waiter was friendly but not very attentive. Overall, probably won't be back. We've had much better experiences at wineries in Fredericksburg. I don't mind paying for an expensive meal if it's worth it--this just wasn't. Very disappointed.

The explanation from the owner was, "when it rains the rats come inside." That aside, the mattresses and bedding are horribly old and uncomfortable. How one of the reviews for this place(which is from four years ago) could possibly say that the bedding is lush and comfortable is INSANE. The a/c was also not on when we arrived so it took well over an hour for the cottage to become comfortable. I was also very afraid to use the jacuzzi tub as it was dirty with yes, more rat poop but the nozzles also looked dirty and who knows how old that tub really is so a bath was forgone. They don't send a confirmation email of your booking even though I was told twice I would receive one and beware of substantial additional charges that are not disclosed up front. Our stay ended up costing over $100 more than expected because of those extra fees. The cost of staying here is an absolute joke for the accommodations which are dirty and highly uncomfortable. Another guest who stayed when we did reported a similar experience. I don't know how they are staying in business because anyone that has the experience we did will certainly never come back and I hope that the people who read this find any other housing option, this place is not worth your money. I'm sure it was a beautiful location when it was built but the lack of attention to landscape and upkeep are obvious. The 13 inch tv and spotty internet was a disappointment. It was clean, but very overpriced.

It's not recommended to go on the tour when it's raining, and when it's too hot or cold outside. We had to reschedule twice due to weather but we finally made it out there and it was a lot of fun learning about bees, their importance to the world and seeing them up close. We all enjoyed the hands on experience being in the bee hits offered us! Standing in the middle of bees flying around, not angrily, and see how they work together was breathtaking. Becky, one of the staff members, scheduled our tour and led our honey taste testing. She was the sweetest lady and took the time to learn all of our names. Becky's husband, Jesus, led our bee tour and answered all of our many questions. He was very kind, knowledgeable and patient when addressing our questions. After all, this place is out in the country and, although not too far off of Hwy 71, it is secluded and kind of remote (probably seems more remote than it actually is). It was, however, a delightful surprise! The shop had a wide variety of bee-related items from tools and clothing for serious bee keepers to honeys and honey-sweetened candies to bee-themed household goods. So cute!! We were treated to a honey tasting, which (like wines) started with the lighter colored and flavored honey (a local honey) up to the darker honeys, then we veered off and were sampling cinnamon honey (think Red Hots + honey), coffee and chocolate flavored, and (my favorite) chili-infused honey. Cannot wait to try this drizzled over some soft cheese. I don't know how I got out with only the few items I purchased (photos below), so I'll have to go back. Many of the items would make great gifts (I'm thinking of those coffee mugs: Let it Bee; Bee Happy; and my favorite: Give Bees a Chance. Tours are also offered but must be scheduled in advance, a down side of spur-of-the-moment exploring. I'll be sure to do that next time, when I'm back to purchase gifts.

Normally this isn't a problem - I get when you're low on rooms - but there are maybe 20 other people staying here. Not to mention my profile always requests "highest floor available, please". I went to the front desk and said "So y'all are sooo booked up that I had to have a room for those with disabilities?" He didn't have an answer for that. I mentioned my room in August was much nicer, smelled better, and didn't have dingy carpet and 70's-style nightstands. Front desk guy said "Ummm....we're renovating" (no they are not). My room faces I-35 and is right by the breakfast area. A lot of noise. Plus, the air conditioner is locked and though it says 66 degrees the room didn't cool off. I'll stay elsewhere next time I visit this area.

We asked if the Internet plugs were activated in the rooms and they said yes.. so we buzzed over to Best Buy to grab ethernet cable only to discover it was not hot and wasn't working at all. Tried 3 different laptops! The beds are still lumpy with a metal box spring that makes a loud clunky sound every time you move or get up climb into for that fact. They ate covering something by spraying the hell outta the rooms during their so called cleaning the room. I get a hint of roach killer spray with that fragrance smell behind it. Burned my eyes, nose and chest. Was hard to breathe the first night. The bedding was dirty and had grains Of something in the sheets. I asked for both beds to be changed and not to spray and so called aromatherapy cleaning fragrance or roach killer on the bedding to prevent the swell and skin irritations and they did it anyway. After being out all day.. I wanted to relax and came back to this! I made my way to the front desk and had to grab some fresh bedding minus the perfume roach killer spray on it ( i keep mentioning this is when we first checked in and eyes burned soon as we entered the room; i went to the front desk to explain it to the gal and was told that they use sprays) Seals on toilet were bad would hear water running water ever so often ... I liked the chain location up there in Belton just off I-35 access rd Food was ok but coffee pots dirty and lukewarm coffee.. But this is my gripes and experiences and this will be my last tome at this location.. I tried a few times now and to give this location a chance by kindly letting them know of issues without being overbearing or dramatic.. but given-some of the other reviews that were posted here... proofs in the pudding! The place was clean and just the right size for my wife and I. Being city folks you forget how dark it is out in the country at nights. It was nice. We signed up for these adventures to make the weekend even more fun: 1. Feed baby kangaroo(Bodhi). This was about a 30 minute session where we got to feed him a bottle and kibble. It really was an amazing experience. 2. Bucket of food and self guided feeding of animals. We walked the property and hid to feed so many animals. All of the animals were friendly toward people. They were all very good motivated. We encountered a giraffe, donkeys, zebras, horses, cows, pigs, dwarf steers, camels, emu, deer, buffalo and more. The animals were often trying to bully their way to the front of the line. The cow Oreo who has not skipped a meal was always front of the line. 3. Afternoon safari ride in ATV. This was a fun ride around the property. Did not see any new animals but had a great time. The cows out at pasture were thrilled to be fed. 4. Giraffe encounter and meal. This was a little expensive but I would spend it again. The giraffes were super friendly and personable. We wanted to take them home because they were so much fun. The guide, experience and never felt rushed made this worth it. Our guide was top notch. I think her name was Jackie but could be wrong.
