Front desk person: Woman that answers the phone provides the recommendation on who to see based on the description that you give her; altough I'm not sure she is the right person so make those determinations. Color: Failed results at all times, kept saying that it's a process, yet she never invested in achieving the color as we discussed. I felt low and disregarded every single time I left the salon. I paid over $1000 to not obtain the results in each session. When I shared my concerns with her and advised that the incorrect color was used, she became distant, ghosted me on text and was not honest about when she was in the office. I called the salon and the woman at the front told me she was there. I feel cheated and hurt. There is no salon manager, no one that cares or that you can speak to about your concerns. Payments are done directly to the stylist.

I wanted to blend the gray into the bottom of my hair to look a bit more natural. Originally, the full idea would have a bit out of my budget, but Krystal came up with another idea to do some 'baby' highlights (highlighting just the top layer of my hair) to pull the grayish color through. So we kept my gray on top, added some highlights on top (which she toned gray, almost blue, kinda cool, certainly not orange!!) and then dyed the bottom of my hair to match my natural dark brown/black hue. Not only is the color amazing (both the gray and the dark brown to match my hair) but one of the best blowouts/styles I've ever gotten, with just 10-15 minutes of drying (I have coarse, frizzy, wavy hair). She gave me beautiful waves in front just with the blowdryer. Amazing. I wish I could have my hair look like this every day. Would absolutely recommend her to anyone. The salon was also very cute and welcoming and there are a few off street parking spots next door. My total even came to less than I was expecting.

I went in to get a perm and cut…read more The vibe was very nice. Very respectful. His space was very clean and tidy with what seems, state of the art tools. I have had fine hair all my life, but even still my hair has always taken well to perms, always. Even the last one over a year ago. The only complaint I had was the use of larger rods which made my hair more wavy curl than curly. Nori had said that my hair wouldn't take well to a perm, but because I know my hair's history, I asked him do it anyway and he agreed to do it. First he used a more gentle solution because of my pervious perm over a year ago (did not ask if I wanted that), and I didn't know until he was already in the process of using it on my hair... my hair needs the stronger solution. Second he did a loose curl wrap instead of a tight curl wrap. With fine hair (or at least my hair) it needs to be curled up against the scalp. I think he did this because it was a hot treatment perm (which I never had before) vs a cold treatment perm. He didn't give an option. So the perm came out ok on the bottom because it already had the previous perm that was there from a year ago. But the top part of my hair had virtually no difference. If you have fine hair and looking to get a perm, I would not recommend Nori. I'm sure he does really well with all other hair services. To his credit, the perm itself, aside from the lack of curl, was a healthy perm (did not harm my hair) and he did give a very nice cut prior to the perm process. I think if he would have explained his treatment process and how it differed from what I had previously experienced, that may have helped my decision to go elsewhere, before wasting over $200 I had taken a year 1/2 to save. Again I think he probably does really well with the other services he provides. I just think for women (or men) with fine hair, you may want to think twice if you're looking to get a perm.

This review is long overdue!!! Now that I have a Yelp account, he is the first on my list to review!! I have been going to beloved Sergio for over 6 years now and I must say this man is a color magician!! I have very dark brown hair bordering on black and Sergio the genius has made me look like a natural blonde. I now have long, silky blonde hair and I owe it all to him!! I must also point out Sergio is the first person in 30 years who was able to make this transformation possible for me. All the "color experts" I have gone to in the past made my hair look orange or reddish. I used to go to the drug store right after the bad color jobs and buy a bottle of Loreal brown hair color to hide the redness. Then all my hair problems changed the day I met Sergio. I couldn't believe my eyes!! He got it right the first time!! I almost fainted. He made my hair the beautiful blonde color of Jennifer Aniston with NO ORANGE! Thank you dear Sergio. Worst place ever. what else you get for a cheap $35 haircut? I needed a quick trim and i just walked in last week after checking their reviews. 2 old ladies almost had a fight over me. I ended up taking the old Hispanic lady i forgot the name of. She did a terrible job and was super rude. My layers are all uneven. Honestly she looked little tipsy too. I've been butchering my hair myself & occasionally using packaged dyes since then. I don't have any girlfriends who uses a local stylist, & I used to trek to Sherman Oaks for my gal. I wanted someone closer for me, & possibly my teenage who's interested in hair fashion as well as color; though I'm holding off on that for a couple of years until she's in high school. I thought I would try Groupon for a trial run of my next permanent stylist so I'm not paying full price in case it doesn't work out. Salon Farouk popped up on my feed for a "one single process color with shampoo & blow-dry"... what caught my eye was the model's hair -- rich, gorgeous locks. While I needed a haircut more than I need my hair colored, I wouldn't mind covering my grays that somehow exploded almost overnight during COVID-19 lockdown. I paid for the deal in spring & promptly forgot about it until I received a reminder of its upcoming expiration in 2 weeks. I called in & spoke with a friendly voice, Norma, & booked my appointment just days before the expiration. Although Salon Farouk is located on busy PCH, they have a private lot so no parking issues here. The salon has plenty of stations & 3 hair washing stations; the space is clean, open, & bright. Stylist Norma Abdous was stationed by the door, finishing up on a blowout for her client. I got seated in a couple of mins., then perusing their color portfolio to figure out my color. I was debating on a mahogany, dark blue or purple (dark so it matches my black hair but a pop of color in the sun); I picked blue-black. I was covered with a cape, & Norma carefully greased my hairline around to my nape before painting my hair. She was about 2/3s done before running out of color. I'm kinda surprised since I've lost about 1/3 of my hair during lockdown. ＼(｀0´)／ Maybe I have more hair than what the rubber band shows? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The painting took about 45-mins., which was fairly quick; my norm when I had more hair was ~75-mins. I guess the coloring process has advanced, only waited 30-mins. before getting shampooed. WARNING... do not wear earrings as they might come off during the wash! Mine did, luckily it was large enough to be caught by the drain catch. Semi-rookie mistake since it's been awhile I visited a hair salon. The color process with shampoo & blowout took almost 2 hours, way faster than my younger visits. Norma did a wonderful job in taking care of my grays. I'll be back to consult with her for my 13 YO after her current cut grows in, & when she's ready for the world of hair fashion.

If it was done incorrectly, I would have a carrot head. My appointment was with Tiffany. Very girly name, so I was expecting someone girly. To my pleasant surprise, she was a very natural and easy going girl- a hippy, if I can say so. She was sweet, funny and most importantly, wanted the best for my hair. My treatment started with a light massage and her bleaching my hair. I've never bleached before so I was nervous but she explained the whole process to me. I was put under the heat (on a hot day) and I was sweating like a pig. She brought me wine to cool me down and I enjoyed the scenery in their little backyard garden. After washing my bleached hair, my nightmares came true. My roots were platinum blonde but my red turned bright orange. The ladies in the salon kept looking at my like I was insaneeeee. I was calm though because I trusted Tiffany. She added blue/purple dye to my hair to cancel out the orange and I came out with grey/brownish hair. It wasn't what I was hoping for but she said the color will fade with each wash. She was correct. As I washed my hair, it became lighter. It was like I got another dye job! I loved how my co-workers would ask me, almost on a daily basis, if I changed my hair again. It's been a week and I'm extremely satisfied with my dye job. I'm afraid that one day, when I wash it, it'll turn orange- but I'm praying to the hair gods that this won't happen. Tiffany (which I'd rather call Crow because she likes that name better) did an amazing job. It costed me $130 and was worth every penny. I also bought their shampoo and conditioner which was about $50 but worth the investment to keep my color in and healthy. She said I could come back for highlights to obtain the platinum I wanted, but I'm completely fine staying like this. Thanks Crow!

I was pleased to experience her skill as she worked on my hair recently. However, she doesn't just do hair. She is an expert make up artist as well having earned her chops on numerous high profile TV shows before starting her own salon.
